Driving Situation

      “More than 90% of road traffic accidents are caused by human error which includes reckless driving and drunk driving” (Robert J. Fenstersheib, Pg 2). Teenagers including adults are more likely to get into car accidents being drunk or texting while driving because there are not paying attention to what’s happening around them. People often go to court due to driving situations for killing someone’s family member or child. Once you take someone’s life then there is no going back because of a single second you look away and looked back. That’s why as a driver you have to be aware of your surroundings.

      In fact, at any given time throughout the day, approximately 660,000 drivers are attempting to use their phones while behind the wheel of an automobile. Smartphones have made it easy for us to stay connected at all times. But that can pose serious safety risks if someone decides to check his or her text messages, emails, phone calls, or any other mobile applications while driving. That’s why people are known to get into accidents.
Driving after drinking is deadly. Yet it still continues to happen across the United States. If you drive while impaired, you could get arrested, or worse—be involved in a traffic crash that causes serious injury or death.Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers.

      There is no question that texting while driving is extremely dangerous. “ This is why most states throughout the country have made cell phones behind the wheel illegal “ ( Lauren, Pg 21) There was an incident that was taken to court due to a bad decision someone made. “The driver of a pickup truck that collided with a church minibus in rural Texas, killing 13 people” ( Houston, USA ). This case was taken to court where Jody Kuchler told the court that he was behind the wheel texting. This relates to the topic because driving while texting or being drunk can cause serious amount of deaths and injuries.

      Most car accidents happen from human errors. Some people don’t think before they do stuff or they just do what they do to impress people. “Jail or Prison time results in bodily injury to another ( driver ), jail or prison time” ( Jessica Tran, 6-14-18 ). In conclusion, texting while driving or being drunk can cause someone’s life who may have lots of consequences.
