Traps are used to catch many animals to make them suffer and have a slow painful death that lasts hours or days. Animals that are caught in traps are coyotes, wolves, raccoons, bobcats, opossums, nutria, beavers, and otters. The type of strap that they use the most is called the steel- jaw trap. This trap is so cruel and painful that its banned in the EU and some states in the U.S. When animals get caught by this trap they try to escape by biting of their limb that is caught, the predator will most likely come back in time to catch the animal, and will beat, strangle, or crush them to death.

Some animals may even accidentally get caught in traps when they're not the ones who are supposed to be killed. The retail industry might claim they're selling raccoon or coyote fur labeled as “faux fur”, but in reality it's from cats or raccoon dogs. Making real fur instead of fake fur requires a lot of time and energy. Using real fur for coats takes 20 times the amount of energy to make. It's also not biodegradable, produces high chemical pollution, and contaminates local water supplies. Fur farms also affect water systems and the environment. What we can do to help is to not buy coats, jackets, etc., that sell clothing with real fur.

We don't need to be wearing animal fur, the only ones who should is the animal it belongs to. Animals suffer on a daily getting skinned alive, crushed, killed, and many other punishments just for their fur when it belongs to them, not us. The difference between real and fake fur is fake fur is more rough when you roll it up together with your fingers when with real fur it's more smooth. When you burn the fur real fur will smell like burned hair and fake fur will smell like burned plastic. Many animals get abused and killed for different types of reasons, some for fur, testing, no room for shelters, zoos, gambling, racing, etc.

Greyhound racing is a way to gamble for money but it does not end good for the dogs. “The industry has admitted to killing up to 17,000 healthy dogs….” (Animals Australia). Greyhound dogs practice or train by the owner attaching a live baby animal to a lure and are flung around till the dogs catch them. Dogs are then rewarded by having the animal as a “treat”.
