Traditional Classroom you have a set day you have to be in class for lectures. There is face to face time with the instructor. Students have the opportunity with idea exchanges with other students that can be more interactive. Questions are answers in real time, instead of the waiting for a response via email or discussion boards. If you are an audio learner you hear the instructor live. There are less likely for distractions in a classroom. The student undivided attention is more likely to happen in the classroom.
Online classes you are not constricted to specific times to log in. You have the ability to be anywhere in world and still keep up with your studies. The student still needs to stay on task to make deadlines. You may have to wait to get answers to your questions via email or discussion board. Self-motivation is a key element to be successful with checking in several times a week. For a quieter student, it may be easier to ask questions and participate in classroom discussion via the internet. There are more distractions that can happen with online learning because you are doing your work from a different location.
