Will Robots Replace Us?

Robots Replacing Humans

While researching about replacing the robots with humans, I found some information about it, particularly from journals, magazines, interviews, newspapers. The information is mostly about negative and positive sides of replacement the robots with humans. My goal in this research is to find information about the effects of replacing robots with humans.

The Use of robots

Now days one of the most fast-growing field in technology can be said is the robot making, because of the use they give almost to every field. The advantages of robots are that they do their tasks faster, more efficient and better than human. Anyhow it can be said not in every field, because the robots can`t think, they just do what they are programmed to do, and in such fields there can be situations that they must think and as they can`t, the operation would be failed, so in these fields humans are not replaceable.

Fields the robots are used

The robots are getting to be used day by day in more and more fields, because of the fact that there lots of big companies, that work on producing newer, faster and more clever robots. Here are a few fields that robots are used now days: Military Services, Car Production, Space Exploration, Remote and Minimally-Invasive Surgery, Underwater Exploration, Fight Crime, Commercialized Agriculture, etc. As we can see they are used very widely.

History of robots

Robots were not yet a part of popular science fiction till the dawn of the 20th century. It was not until 1917 when Joseph Capek wrote the short story Opilec describing auto-mats and 1921 when his brother Karel Capek wrote the play Rossum’s Univeral Robots (RUR) that the concept of robotics entered the popular consciousness. Which brother originally coined the term robot is a matter of debate in the Czech literary world. The term robot is derived from the Czech word, robota, meaning serf or laborer. (Hockstein 113) Karl Capek J Robotic Surg intended for his play, RUR, to protest the rapid growth of modern technology and thus he described an evolution of the robots with increasing capabilities and the eventual revolt of these robots against their human counterparts [3]. Inadvertently, the Capek brothers introduced the term robo into modern language and sparked public fascination with their creations. (Hockstein 114)

Why the robots should not replace human

According to a recent study conducted by MIT and Boston University, the use of industrial robots has had a large and negative impact on U.S. employment and wages in local labor markets.

The robots are also used in the space and according to 'Robots must not replace humans in space' by: Hromek, Philipp, Christian Science Monitor, is discussed why the robots should not be sent to the space:

' 'Why man ... and not machine?': The question of whether robots or people should go into space is a simple one: Do we care what we learn about other places enough to want to experience them ourselves?

Even though missions such as the Mars landers have generated some interest, they don't stir the fire in people that putting people, instead of robots, there would.

Robots are a valuable tool in the exploration of space, but even if they can accomplish things more cheaply, going into space should not just be a matter of cost. ' (Hromek)

Replacing robots human will make the wages go down and the unemployment go up

The researchers— MIT’s Daron Acemoglu and BU’s Pascual Restrepo—estimate that in communities where robots were deployed in industrial applications, wages tended to go down. Every robot added per 1,000 workers reduces the employment-to-population ratio by between 0.18% to 0.34%, according to the study, with wages declining by 0.25% to 0.5%. The researchers also estimate that the wage gap between the top 90% earners and the bottom 10% has widened by as much as 1% between 1990 and 2007 (Blanchard 4).

There is a growing concern among many workers that robots will replace their jobs, especially those in the manufacturing sector. But are robots going to take over all jobs? In a recent Washington Post article, Michael Jones, author and assistant professor of economics at the University of Cincinnati, says that although job loss in some occupations will continue, it will be offset by gains in other fields'. (American Ceramic Society Bulletin)

Why robots should replace human

People don't feel pressure or obligation when talking to a robot.

Robots are getting uncomfortably realistic, and, if Hollywood is any metric, people are getting more and more creative about how we're going to use them in the future.

It may not be long, for example, until androids replace sales associates. According to Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, Japanese men don't like talking with staff at stores because they might get pressured after they indicate they're interested in making a purchase. 'But they don't hesitate to talk to the android,' he said at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, adding that a 'robot never tells a lie, and that is why the android can sell lots of clothes.' With the ubiquity of Google's voice recognition, Apple's Siri, and customer service robots, people aren't weirded out by talking to robots anymore, and in Ishiguro's view, new applications and personal robots are likely. ( Wolff-Mann)

Over the next 40 years, we are going to see a dramatic drop in the percentage of working-age adults across the world. And as baby boomers reach retirement age, the percentage of folks in retirement is going to change dramatically in the opposite direction. That means there will be more people with fewer social security dollars competing for services, and fewer working people available to deliver those services to them. We will need robots to help us deal with this reality, doing the things we normally do for ourselves but that get harder to do as we get older. Things like getting groceries, driving cars to visit people, and helping us move around more safely and efficiently as physical ailments settle in. (Brooks 2)

Robots will ultimately be the biggest job creators simply because aggressive automation will free us up to do new work by virtue of it erasing toil that was once essential. Lest we forget, there was a time in American history when just about everyone worked whether they wanted to or not - on farms - just to survive. With their evolution as labor inputs, robots bring the promise of new forms of work that will have us marveling at labor we wasted in the past, and that will make past job destroyers like wind, water, the cotton gin, the car, the internet and the computer seem small by comparison. All the previously mentioned advances made lots of work redundant, but far from forcing us into breadlines, the destruction of certain forms of work occurred alongside the creation of totally new ways to earn a living. Robots promise a beautiful multiple of the same. (Tamny)

Conclusion.

By examining the sources about robots replacing with humans we can see that it can cause global unemployment, which will bring it`s negative sides, lowering the wages. The positive sides that it can cause are that the process of work will get super faster, there will be created jobs in some fields, there will be a high growth in technologies, in surgeries, and the robots will save a lot of time in any field they will be used.

Anyhow despite the negative and positive sides i think the replacement of robots with humans is getting faster and will be very soon.

His voice rose under the black smoke before the burning wreckage of the island; and infected by that emotion, the other little boys began to shake and sob too. And in the middle of them, with filthy body, matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.' (Golding 248), this quote shows his innocence that is still left even though he is no longer a little kid.

Kindness and Compassion Importance

In our every day lives, we frequently experience feelings and sensations past our current circumstance and past actual cutoff points. These feelings are about individuals or don't permit us to reflect and start activities to stay away from hindrances or research the advantages that influence us from various perspectives. It is important to comprehend the primary significance and substance of sympathy and graciousness inside and past theoretical limits. The historical background of 'sympathy' is Latin, signifying 'enduring.' Compassion incorporates 'inclinations toward others' and a pioneer of compassion; the capacity to 'feel like others' by dynamic activities with an emphasis on individuals; as a rule, dynamic empathy is a longing to assuage the enduring of others. One can see that affection is firmly identified with specialists and human variables. At the end of the day, while doing clinical benefits, that is their characteristic.

The sacred texts of the Qur'an stress sympathy and start with the words Yazil Bismillah Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem Kur. In the event that individuals are squashed by saying, the impact is less powerful, however perusing it by reflection uncovers its profundity. In the event that you mirror the past, say over a century prior, we can recollect the adoration displayed by general society actually. This demonstrates obviously and unmistakably that a great many people have human qualities and less materialistic members. Hence, values have a significant impact when they characterize their importance in the setting where they are utilized. Alternately, natural implications and written by hand perspectives on words or expressions don't have the best impact or impact. Hence, the social, social or political effect of words is straightforwardly relative to the qualities they encroach.

On the off chance that we do a basic examination or a goal appraisal, our objective ought to be to research the qualities utilized for this articulation. The outcomes will show the development of individuals and the effect on society. William Wordsworth said: 'The most awesome aspect of a decent man's life, Good work and little love, unknown, you don't recollect. At the point when these words were talked about, it was reported that graciousness and sympathy assumed a logical part. Both identify with human qualities, yet basic examination proposes that there is a contrast among adoration and graciousness. In the first place, the inclination that one is enduring and the last to extend to help the poor. Benevolence is more proficient in creating structures and strategies, not exclusively to give opportune help, yet in addition to stay away from such reiteration. Indeed, graciousness is a momentary assistance to take care of issues at that point.

At the point when it is expounded on legends and saints, it is stressed that the person characters of a country create in character. When legends structure the personality of individuals, sound networks attempt to show their sympathy and empathy. It's anything but significant that most devotees or minorities convey the stick and beams of light for people in the future. Here, be cautious and offer guidance to youthful ages or individuals who love to utilize love nimbly. This can cause exhaustion or unpleasant love. Charles Figley, a school teacher, said it was the point at which somebody was profoundly engaged with the outrageous data about the enduring that individuals endured. Be that as it may, as indicated by Tania Singer and Matthieu Ricard (every overseer of a social neuroscience and a Buddhist author and priest), absence of sufficient pressure resilience has burned-through individuals in cherishing exercises. Whatever the intention or cause, it is suggested that the individual or gathering embrace the middle way, hence accomplishing ideal outcomes. This will assist youngsters with giving a sound body and brain to guarantee they get delight and fulfillment.

Essay on Music Concert Held in your City

I got the opportunity to join at a show under the Believe Tour by Canadian vocalist Justin Bieber in Ottawa. It was perhaps the most great shows for me I have at any point appreciated.

Justin Bieber is my #1 vocalist and I have the assortment of the entirety of his melodies. As a child, he has raised himself to an alternate stature which is unfathomable for the kid like his age. The show was masterminded on the side of his third collection - 'Accept'. The show started in September of 2012 and he arrived at Ottawa in the following year as he needed to act in various different states also. The show got immense exposure on various media and tickets were inaccessible, I am fortunate that I had a companion with the show coordinator who dealt with the ticket for me.

The visit has occurred in Ottawa on July 23 of 2013 at Scotiabank Place. Albeit the setting was additional huge for such a show, on the show day it was jam-loaded with the crowd and it was hard for me to remain at the passage line with the extending swarm. In any case, my companion protected me from this difficulty and I entered the Scotiabank Place interestingly to appreciate a live show. The stage embellishment was rewarding and the lighting framework made the lobby as a brilliant as sunshine. Luckily, I oversaw space in the first column and continued remaining until the show finished. I failed to remember the span and it may have gone on for one and a half hour.

Tragically, I was unable to deal with another ticket for my more youthful sibling, who is likewise a devotee of Justin Bieber. He missed the occasion totally yet I was fortunate to such an extent that I got the opportunity to chat with the well known artist interestingly during the show. He was having a staggering look with the sleeveless shirt, a dark gasp, a handkerchief on his right arm and the receiver on his head. He was joined by a band of artists who were playing various instruments together to make the show pleasant. He got across the show stage while the majority of the crowds were moving merrily with the melodies. Regardless of being a small child to me, I am his super fan and favor his tunes consistently. The implications of the tunes are exceptional and the music sythesis is colossal. He realizes how to sing and make the crowd insane with his super tone.

It's anything but a best of luck for me that I have a companion who is working with the occasion the board in Ottawa and helps me enormously in such cases like saving show passes, organizing first column seats, exceptional medicines in the setting and more different issues. Yet, I really appreciated the Believe Tour however I didn't get sufficient opportunity to sit or get any unique treatment from the coordinators as the whole corridor was packed. Security individuals of the setting were defenseless to control the group and carry order to the crowd. Moreover, the melodies were fantastic with a vivacious presentation. The vocalist several tunes from his new collection while different melodies had a place with his previous collections.

Chivalry by Neil Gaiman Summary

In Chivalry by Neil Gaiman from his compilation Smoke and Mirrors, we meet Mrs. Whitaker, a desolate widow, without any offspring of her own. We expect she drives a tranquil and unremarkable life - she gathers her annuity, visits Oxfam to purchase different pieces of bric a brac and a periodic Mills and Boon epic for a couple pence. She has tea with a similarly older woman and visits a companion with a harmed hip in clinic. She is mediocre all around. An old individual none of us might want twice at.

However, she figures out how to track down the Holy Grail in Oxfam. Her response is one of calm astonishment and she gets it, alongside two M&B books and she takes it home, where she cleans out the red dusty stuff in the cup (!!!) and afterward allows it to douse for a piece, prior to cleaning it's anything but a high sheen. She puts it on her mantelpiece alongside an old photograph of her significant other (presently perished) and a little profound china basset dog.

Sir Galaad shows up at her entryway, a knight in sparkling reinforcement, on a Right High and Noble Quest, to secure the Holy Grail. Behind him his monster horse is fastened to her door. Mrs. Whitaker takes to the youngster, yet solely after she sees his accreditations to ensure he is the sort of person he is. Sir Galaad detects the Holy Grail, the Sangreal, and asks Mrs. Whitaker to allow him to have it. She rejects. She is benevolent however rejects.

Galaad visits a couple of more occasions. He gives her a stunning sword as a trade off for the cup however she turns him down. He visits once more, and he is a touch more fight exhausted than previously. This time around her the Philospher's Stone and the Egg of a Phoenix. Be that as it may, he likewise offers her the Apple of Life. As Mrs. W grasps the apple, a portion of the juice spills onto her fingers and she licks it. She recollects what it resembled being youthful, being hitched to her significant other and to feel the eyes of attractive youngsters on her. She cautiously puts the apple back down, giving it back to Galaad. She gives him the vessel and keeps the egg and stone, supplanting the chalice on the mantelpiece.

Galaad heads out on his monster horse, still a paragon of excellence and youth, vessel journey satisfied. Mrs. W visits Oxfam again presently and sees that the young lady behind the till was not, at this point in participation. Turns out she had arrived behind schedule with some attractive youth on a pony. She grins to herself and putters around the shop and tracks down an antiquated looking lamp...she takes a gander at it cautiously, thinks about it. Then, at that point returns it, just purchasing the single soft cover romance book.

Superbly engaging, this must be one of my number one shorts by Mr. Gaiman. It is clever and loaded up with feeling. By and large it functions admirably as a keyhole see into the existence of a lone old lady who is, in spite of her old age, still entirely capable, still particularly mindful of a greater picture, regardless of whether she carries on with a little life and has gotten everything except imperceptible to every other person.

Sweet and confident this short story never neglects to make me grin. Certainly a top pick and one that I appreciate re-perusing for the sheer joy of the narrating and offhanded humor.

How to Balance School and Personal Life

With the always expanding cost of studies and family requests, these days it is not unexpected to discover an understudy who is battling with the three parts of life, as these are duties that an individual can't flee from. Albeit most people generally figure out how to contemplate while functioning and going to family needs, numerous students as a rule think that its an exceptionally overwhelming undertaking, as every one of these three significant parts of life has own requests should be met. As a rule, inability to discover a harmony between these parts of life can be very pushing; thus, except if an individual tracks down an agreeable answer for this, probabilities of one experiencing a burnout are high. Albeit most people attempt to tackle this by taking courses that are less requesting or require no conventional class participation, probabilities of the vast majority of them turning out to be survivors of disappointment are high, as a result of the expanded danger of setting aside effort to do one movement while disregarding others.

Along these lines, since meeting all school, work, and family requests relies upon how well students mange their time, individuals must arrangement well their time by drawing an even working timetable, which ought to incorporate every one of the requests of each assignment, without neglecting to incorporate some resting and diversion time. The essential factor that can decide if students will deal with the various full-time numerous obligations that they face each day is their capacity to draw a fun time usage plan. The arrangement ought to have the option to separate constantly available to a student in extents that will rely upon the time required go to every obligation. What's more, in light of the fact that in typical life situations, various duties that people might not have made arrangements for are probably going to emerge, individuals must put some leisure time to the side on their timetables to cook for any crises. Further, one should set some play and resting time in their schedules, as this will assist with diminishing one from any type of strain, sluggishness, and any work or study or blood related pressure.

Then again, albeit a few people may downplay the meaning of certain obligations; subsequently, the inclination of them not cooking for such duties in their plans for getting work done, it is prudent for a one to give each request an equivalent measure of thought, since disappointment in one duty can be an impediment towards prevailing in another duty (Bradley 1). A second methodology that people can use to guarantee that they offset their investigations with work and family duties is including their families and managers in their examinations. Albeit only one out of every odd relative or manager may see the value in this, in any event it will cause them to feel less undermined by one's inclinations in different exercises, other than the duties that they should perform at explicit areas. To guarantee that they like what one is doing, it is a great idea to have great investigation and work propensities.

This won't just rouse others, yet additionally it will make in them the craving to give an individual space, all the more so when they are fascinated in taking care of different obligations, which a person's family or manager may not think about essential. Going connected at the hip with having great investigation and work propensities is setting of sensible targets. As consequence of the various obligations that may accompany these three parts of life, it is prudent for a person to set little, practical, and feasible targets, be it in their work, studies, or families. Any objective set should empower people to adhere to their arrangements, oversee assumptions and guarantee people set some an ideal opportunity for themselves (University of South Africa 1). At last, in light of the mind-boggling nature of the requests that are related with these parts of life, one should look for help at whatever point they are overpowered with obligations.

In situations where the obligations are not overpowering, it is fitting for a person to exploit any common exercises to bond with relatives or coworkers. People can accomplish this by guaranteeing that they fabricate significant connections companions, coworkers, and relatives. These connections are vital for any endeavor that students may include themselves in, as they are perhaps the main devices that can assist students with boosting their confidence and inspiration level towards anything they are doing. Then again, students ought to illuminate their families, coaches or directors of any emerging issue or change of occasions, as this is the solitary way guaranteeing that any instructing authority will comprehend the need to allow them to go to any crises that may emerge.

Taking everything into account, despite the fact that adjusting between studies, work and family duties simultaneously can be an extremely tiring endeavor, with appropriate arranging and time booking, one can ease any type of pressure related with the various requests related with this various parts of life. Going inseparably with legitimate time planning, one should look for help at whatever point need emerges to restrict odds of one turning into a burnout casualty.

How does Language Make Humans Different from Animals

Up for thought this time is the degree to which language makes the human species unmistakable from different types of creature. First and foremost, a qualification among language and correspondence is required; language can be characterized as 'a framework for the statement of musings, feeling, and so on, by the utilization of spoken sounds or regular images,' while correspondence can be characterized as 'the bestowing or trade of data, thoughts or sentiments'. It is significant that creature correspondence is most every now and again alluded to thusly: correspondence. Most exploration has utilized the terms creature correspondence and human language, which proposes from the start of investigating this inquiry a formerly settled contrast between species' methods of informative collaboration. This exposition means to examine whether our types of correspondence are in reality all that not the same as those of different creatures. The principle distinction between the above definitions is by all accounts in regards to the utilization in language of discourse and 'customary images,' which unquestionably, yet maybe under various pretenses, is essential for the trades in any correspondence.

In 1960 Hockett recognized thirteen plan highlights of language, which were refined by Aitchison in 1983 to ten. Aitchison determined that four rules were specific to the human species: relocation, semanticity, structure reliance and imagination. These four models, in synopsis, demonstrate that people are fit for discussing things, individuals and cases, valid or bogus, outside of the present time and place spatial and fleeting climate by utilizing a formalized, theoretical arrangement of words, images and pitches every one of which can have a wide range of implications when utilized inside various settings and between various people.

Correspondence in creature species can be exceptionally differed, going from vocalisms to conduct motions and developments. Analysts have refered to various occurrences of creature correspondence. A few models are; honey bees can convey distances to dust to different honey bees utilizing various kinds of dance; vervet monkeys utilize various calls to caution different monkeys about the areas of hunters, peacocks utilize sound just as visual correspondence through the stirring of their plumes, some sea-going species use power, moths use pheromones and subterranean insects can likewise utilize compound signs to speak with each other. Nonetheless, the various frameworks of correspondence between creatures can't really be qualified as language in the very sense that human correspondence can has still not been effectively demonstrated to have in similar variable profundities as human language.

As our nearest relations, a ton of examination into creature language has been utilizing gorillas. One of the more noted of these examinations was led by Savage-Rumbaugh who showed a Bonobo chimpanzee, 'Kanzi', to utilize a type of gesture based communication. Savage-Rumbaugh  asserted that Kanzi's language abilities utilizing a 256-image console were identical to those of an over two year old child's, yet as the chimp developed more established, his etymological capacities didn't increment essentially, while a human youngster's semantic capacity develops quickly after this age. This proof recommends that there is a cutoff to how much a primate can procure or foster language, mostly confined by psychological limits and incompletely by anatomical make-up. Spaces of the cerebrum like Broca's, which appear to have advanced in people as language regions, in different species the relating region's control activities, for example, arm and non-verbal mouth developments and the vocal parcels of people and chimps likewise contrast, influencing the sounds that gorillas are fit for making.

In spite of the fact that chimps have been deciphered as having the option to make asks for and adhere to guidelines, it still hazy the degree to which chimps, for example, Kanzi get meaning, instead of, as has been proposed by certain specialists, have just learnt in an upgrade reaction way. Then again however is the possibility that 'a sign has meaning in the event that it's anything but a portrayal of the occasion to which it relates'. On this note, maybe it is the human limit with respect to intricacy of implying that recognizes us, having the option to join the information on what a word implies all alone, what it implies as a component of various sentences, what it implies with various apparent affectations and what that all methods coming from the individual talking it in the circumstance it is being spoken in.

Another of Aitchison's proposed models is removal; people can examine anything, genuine or speculative, paying little mind to its essence in the present time and place or its scarcity in that department. The solitary refered to instances of this in different creatures are in higher primate social orders. One illustration of a chimp monitoring objects other than those in quick view comes from Kanzi, who could recover 'an apple from higher up's overlooking any remaining apples on the floor he was on. Premack's chimp, 'Sarah,' was apparently ready to choose earthy colored articles on the premise that she had been instructed that chocolate was brown, in any event, when there was no chocolate present, however this finding was reprimanded as her illustrated 'understanding' was professed to be simple speculation.

With the trouble of confirming whether creatures, in particular primates, have truly perceived what has been addressed them past adapted upgrade reaction learning limits, research has all the more as of late centered around creatures' creation of language, identifying with Aitchison's last rule: innovativeness. Imagination relates to the capacity to create a possibly endless number of words, sentences and implications that have never been communicated. Creature language is restricted by the capacity to make various tones for their expressions, make interior portrayals of occasions and for the sender to ready to pass on these successfully to the collector.

The third of Aitchison's models is structure reliance and grammar. People have syntactic principles to their dialects, set manners by which things can be communicated. The images we use are conceptual, bearing no similarity to what they allude to. Creatures don't appear to have composed dialects, so this is one significant distinction between us, yet they do utilize singular vocalisms to mean certain things and where they do not have a composed language they make up for this utilizing thing like scents and pheromones. Now and again transmitting these or leaving them on fixed items or mates as ownership markers, for instance canines and feline, even homegrown ones.

The angle that is apparently the characterizing highlight of human correspondence is the nature of its semanticity/which means, yet maybe it is the social settings inside which we use language that genuinely recognizes human and creature correspondence. The sorts and assortments of things creatures can impart about are restricted contrasted and people. It's anything but a significant point that in their indigenous habitat creatures don't have the assortment of things to talk about that people do, for instance, 'what will I wear to my meeting?' This sentence alone contains sociological highlights that would not happen in creature universes for example attire and business. Another part of human life that gorillas don't have a similar degree of consciousness of in their own species is the presence universally of various subgroups of people. Are primates mindful that many miles away there is a somewhat unique type of gorilla? Would their dialects be viable with each other's, like English-United Kingdom, English-Australian and English-American or would it be immeasurable? Which would we consider to be the more refined; fathomable or limitless? Which mentions that our differentiations depend on our own human guidelines and subject to our insight.

So human language's intricacy is by all accounts the distinctive factor among human and non-human creatures. It is the facilitatory component by which we came to foster the more clear separating highlights such as, our contemporary worldwide foundations. By this token, language has made human creatures exceptionally particular from non-human creatures. Anyway it merits bearing psyche that the forerunner to this distinguisher was and is indeed maybe steered not in the intellectual limits of our species, but rather in the anatomical discourse limitations, as chosen for through the course of advancement, of different species and hence it's difficult dialect, as such, that is the essence of this qualification. The distinction may not be truth be told to extraordinary whenever taken relatively. Our accessibility of things to speak with each other about is far more prominent than that of other creature species. On the off chance that measure of correspondence material accessible to various species were estimated against their open levels and all outcomes normalized, maybe the genuine qualification among human and non-human creatures would be less obviously outrageous.

Is it Better to Succeed as a Team Player

The general public that we live in today is profoundly aggressive, and extraordinary weight is set on singular achievement. Because of this, numerous individuals question whether filling in as a group is preferable for progress over working exclusively. For my situation, I accept that filling in as a group is the best method to prevail for a few reasons.

Regardless, by functioning collectively, it gets simpler to tackle issues. Since each individual has distinctive information and an alternate point of view on an issue, new experiences and special ways to deal with issues will come up while functioning collectively, which will help take care of the issue easily. For instance, while fostering an application during a temporary position, I was experiencing difficulty working on the computation strategies. I was unable to discover how to address the mistakes I was having because of complex computations. In spite of this, I was wondering whether or not to request help since I needed to achieve this errand all alone. Be that as it may, not long prior to surrendering, I chose to converse with the group head of the creating group and asked him for help. Shockingly, he was extremely open to me requesting help and requested that the whole group assist me with the computations. The result was extremely amazing. The issue that I was unable to tackle for quite a long time without anyone else was addressed in practically no time.

Additionally, filling in as a group assists with conceptualizing clever thoughts. This is additionally demonstrated by the celebrated axiom, "Two heads are superior to one." Since everybody in the group is from an alternate foundation and contrasting beneficial encounters, various thoughts can be framed while working in a group than as a person. Glancing back at my past encounters, in the past I took part in an imagination challenge in which I needed to make another item that could address a bother that we face in our every day lives. While doing this undertaking, I was unable to concoct any issues that had no answers for them. Subsequent to considering over this for a few days, I requested a couple from my companions for help. Incredibly, we had the option to think of a few issues and innovative answers for them simply by bantering with one another and expanding upon each other's thoughts. From that point forward, I had the option to discover that functioning as a group is surely better compared to working alone.

On account of the two reasons above, I vigorously declare that functioning as a group is superior to working alone. As the well known ball player Michael Jordan referenced, "Ability dominates games, yet collaboration and insight win titles." Like thus, participation will bring amazing results.

Two Ways of Looking at a River Central Idea

Imprint Twain's "Two Ways of Seeing a River" dives into the progressions in mentality he encounters concerning the waterway subsequent to turning into a steamship pilot. Basically, when he acquires information and educational encounters, he starts to underestimate the excellence of the waterway for allowed and loses his affection for it.

Imprint Twain clarifies how something lovely can turn boring or even appalling in the wake of seeing it various occasions, from an alternate point of view, or subsequent to acquiring new information and encounters.

The design of this passage is partitioned into three principle thoughts: Mark Twain's underlying adoration for the waterway, his continuous decrease in consideration for it's anything but, an examination if dismissing excellence to acquire something different is awesome. The primary section comprises of for the most part distinctive symbolism of the Mississippi River that Mark Twain depicts.

Twain, with this section, is passing on the way that an information on the internal operations of a waterway and what the highlights of a stream demonstrate don't increase its experience. Indeed, becoming acquainted with something too well can cause one to lose appreciation for it, and this is what befallen Twain.

In the main sentence, when he says, "… I had dominated the language of this water," he implies that he was all around prepared as a steamship pilot. He portrays this obtaining as important; notwithstanding, he likewise reprimands it as the reason for him to lose "all the elegance, all the excellence" from the waterway. In the subsequent passage, Twain depicts the continuous decrease in fascination and consideration regarding the waterway and its environmental factors.

He sees things not so he can wonder about them, yet to utilize them, for example, when he takes the picture of a nightfall and notes that it signifies "we will have twist tomorrow". Twain then, at that point brings every one of the distinctive subtleties of the waterway from the principal passage and brings them again into the second, however this time, he portrays how they demonstrate some different option from magnificence to him.

This shows that information and experience did, in reality, cause Twain to dismiss the stunningness and gloriousness that he found in the stream previously. It tends to be seen that distance makes magnificence, when in the main passage, "steamboating was different to me [Twain]," he was not vindicated with the operations of the waterway, and thusly he was more 'far off' from it, which made his fascination for it.

Truth be told, he knows about this, on the grounds that in the third section, he "felt sorry for specialists from my heart."

He logically questions whether a specialist can see the distinction in the excellence of a flush of a lady's cheeks and an infection. The fundamental inquiry he pose is whether acquiring information and experience of something worth is losing that underlying point of view. Pretty much, Mark Twain is tending to himself and potentially making the world mindful of the benefits of what they are attempting to accomplish.

There are various ways Mark Twain utilizes artistic gadgets to make a feeling of force and accentuate certain expressions. For instance, in the primary section, he rehashes the expression, "I had lost something," which underlines the meaning of what he lost, for this situation, the capacity to see the excellence of the waterway. Effectively, this makes a resonant mind-set, and the reiteration makes tension and a need to understand what Twain lost.

At the point when he portrays the magnificence of the stream and its environmental factors, it is across the board sentence, which additionally shows the limitless measure of affection he had for it that he was unable to take breaks while depicting it. When understanding it, there are additionally no stops, and the persistent symbolism builds striking pictures to readers which makes a dramatic mind-set, and maybe they are likewise encountering it alongside Twain. This takes into account a more relatable and individual impact on perusers, and they can interface thoughts in the content to their own life, which Twain apparently needs to do in the last passage.

In the subsequent section, there are comparable scholarly gadgets utilized. For instance, there is another redundancy like the last, where Twain rehashes, "A day came when I started to stop," to, "one more day came when I stopped by and large to note them," which makes the sensational impact on the limit of what he lost, as done in the main section with the reiteration of, "I had lost something."

The redundancy in the subsequent section is in a similar sentence, and it makes the tone of regret and lament. At the point when Twain at long last depicts all that he has lost, he gets similar subtleties as in the main passage, however this time, he communicates what the subtleties really mean truly, and dismisses how they affected him, and it tends to be seen that information on something is blinding to its magnificence.

Once more, it is totally said in a similar sentence, however it doesn't have a similar impact as last time. All things considered, it's anything but a vexing environment, and there is a reevaluation of the underlying understandings of the waterway, how the magnificence of it's anything but reality, however emotional dependent on the eyewitness.

Toward the start of the passage, Twain portrays how the universe of the stream was "unfamiliar to me [Twain]," and the amount he "savored it," however toward the finish of the section, Twain is acclimated with the waterway to such an extent that he just sees the outside of it and not the "verse of the magnificent stream." This equal design makes incongruity since it conflicts with perusers' assumptions, connoting what Twain has lost.

He is attempting to sort out the meaning of acquiring experience if, eventually, it removes the impression of excellence and love, and on the off chance that one "has acquired most or lost most by learning his exchange."

Generally speaking, in "Two Ways of Seeing a River", Mark Twain tends to the significance of understanding the degree of the benefits of what individuals have. He questions whether experience and information are more compensating than the striking impression of things and the capacity to see importance past their surface.

Twain accentuates how he went from a condition of mesmerisation to lack of concern with respect to the Mississippi River, all on account of his obtaining of involvement and information as a steamer pilot, which he sees as significant yet not worth the deficiency of his heartfelt and wonderful view of the waterway.

Speech on Never Ever Give up

We all have numerous fantasies in our brains, however barely few figure out how to get them satisfied in the main endeavor. Dreaming is the best thing ever, in light of the fact that we generally dream about things we love and expect. The most ideal approach to arrive at your fantasies and expectations is to attempt to accomplish them and to transform them to the real world and always failing to surrender in any circumstance. "Never surrender" signifies continue attempting and work constantly for your objectives. For some individuals, disappointment is only the initial move towards achievement.

This ought to be our methodology throughout everyday life. For example, little infants when figuring out how to walk, they tumbled down commonly. Be that as it may, they don't surrender. They continue to attempt and when they make it, their cheerful faces say everything. It is properly said, "Champs never quit, and weaklings always lose" I recollect that one second in late 90s, it was half past ten in the evening, and my uncle was taking to my granddad that he was unable to work more in that organization since they are not paying him great as indicated by his capability and he needs to leave that place of employment.

My dad was a marine warrior, so he was consistently exacting with everybody, even me as well. His choices was in every case straight advances on the off chance that he submit any choice that imply that is his official choice and we need to follow them. He generally advised me to never surrender.

His words are consistently solid with me. I recall those occasions when he generally pushes me for exercise and he generally contends me for pushups and he generally won. He doesn't care to lose on the grounds that he was a marine officer. I recollect that day when we both are contending one another. His arms and shoulders were excessively solid. He begins, ten… .., Twelve.., eighteen… , 25.., 35… . what's more, fifty.

He advised me to get down on the floor and he begins tallies one, two …. Also, I finishes at ten and afterward I heard my father voice come one you can do it two more and five more and again two more like that I finish at twenty pushups. He would see my blushed, perspiring face and agony in my body yet at the same time he needs me to an ever-increasing extent. I just heard the words never surrender u can likewise does it and afterward I felled down and I said no more. Then, at that point, with his squinting eyes he would chuckle at me, a high snicker and said do you want to accomplish more than me. I was so furious and would not reply and take a gander at him; I simply go to my next work out. I never imagined that was simple.

That was the manner in which I felt for such countless years during my youngsters when I was ten years of age. I actually love to challenge my dad. We had consistently been an actual connection between one another. We never impart to one another in discourse just as in composed. My mom consistently kept in touch with me letters and calls me through telephone when I am in secondary school. Indeed, even my father never helps me in my investigations as well, yet he generally in the remain during my tennis match-ups. He generally attempts to impart me during the game that how I need to play. He generally shows me new move for my game since he was an extraordinary sport and tennis player. That is shows the amount he had love for me. I recollect that game when I was nearly losing my last of tennis in my secondary school. Where toward the finish of set my dad came to me and converse with me that how could I back into the game and how might I beat my adversary. He advised me never to surrender, battle till the finish of the game which is constantly stuck in my brain.

I recall how glad he was the point at which I won that last tennis match-up. At that point something happened to me, something unforeseen. My inclination changed towards my father with in a second. I understood that I was feeling frustrated about my father that he was in every case right that on the off chance that you have self-assurance and certainty you can pursue and win anything in this world. That day that second stick to me and now at whatever point I have those sort of circumstance I generally returns to my previous days and tackled out my issues. I recollect that one time second, a couple of years prior while I actually was in secondary school; one I had always wanted was to move to the United States and to examine an advanced degree there. I attempted and I fizzled with achieving this a lot of times. However, regardless of what anybody said and regardless of what snags I went over I had made a guarantee to myself to never abandon that fantasy since I generally had those three expressions of my dad with me "won't ever surrender".

Despite the fact that it wasn't the most out of sight, it was all the while something I super needed to do. I buckled down through secondary school, I found a new line of work as an afterthought to help me set aside up cash, and I searched for schools and places I could envision myself living. I did this without help from anyone else, and it in the long run paid off. I'm presently living and concentrating in the United States, and cherishing each and every day of it. I'm pleased with myself for always failing to surrender. I presently know to keep roused for my fantasies, and that with buckle down, battle and enthusiasm, anybody can do anything. To summarize, always failing to surrender is the key of achievement in human existence. On the off chance that somebody get great help from their loved ones things will exercise eventually. I don't feel that I will at any point surrender in my life now. I'm doing my majors in software engineering and I won't stop presently till I don't accomplish my objectives.

Greek and Roman Mythology

Oresteia trilogy by Aeschylus is a famous ancient Greek tragedy that consists of three major parts, all of which reflect hierarchal gendered norms seen in ancient Greece at the time. Throughout the play, the role of women and how they relate to their families and society is evident. In the traditional Greek community, the women were seen as passive while the male gender dominated the community. Women played an essential role in their families such as taking care of the family as well as household chores. In the play, the women primarily functions revolve around their families and children. Importantly, the Oresteia play view women as subjects to men action as well as passive in nature.

Cassandra is a passive and submissive woman. Additionally, she is also viewed as an object to meet the men desires. For example, she was gifted to Agamemnon' after he emerged victorious in the Trojan war. In Argo's palace, Cassandra takes the role of a mistress as well as a concubine to Agamemnon since Agamemnon had a family. Although Cassandra is known in the castle, she reveals some painful truth to the chorus although one of them believed her. Firstly she explains some of the bloody events that had taken place in the House of Atreus which includes Iphigenia sacrifice and also Cassandra revealed that Agamemnon and herself were going to die shortly.

Apollo, a god, had made a romantic request to love Cassandra. However, Cassandra rejected the romantic pursuits which in turn forces Apollo to punish Cassandra. Apollo gifted Cassandra with the gift of prophecy, however, as a result of dismissing him, Apollo punished Cassandra with the new gift indicating that no one would ever believe in Cassandra's accurate prophesies.

In the second part Eumenides, Apollo reveals the relationship between mother and child as well as father and child. Apollo explains that the fathers have the sole responsibility of conceiving children and therefore, children are supposed to protect and side with the father as opposed to the mother. Importantly Apollo indicates that a mother's life is worthless compared to a father's life. Apollo's argument of the relationship between a child and mother and father further diminishes the value of women in the traditional Greek society.

While grieving his father's death and promising to revenge his death, Orestes leave behind some essential clues which informs Electra of her brother's presence. In this case, Orestes cuts two locks of his hair and spread them one by one on his father's grave. In the Greek tradition only a family member was allowed to leave the hair in the tomb. Since Electra was sure she was not the one as well as the fact that her mother would not access the grave, she was quite sure it was her brother Electra's hair on the grave.

Electra and her brother Orestes have significant similarities in their physical appearance. For example, the texture of their hair is similar as indicated in the play that they both have wavy hair. Additionally, their footprints are also identical. It is, however, essential to suggest that both are different regarding gender whereby Electra is female while Orestes is male. Apollo's view of mother and child relationship, as well as father and child relationship, is significantly influenced by the father irrespective of the child's gender. Importantly, as a result of Apollo's view of women, Apollo ordered Orestes to revenge for his father's death although he was avenging it against his mother.

In the case trial, Athena a female goddess supported Apollo view of mother and child which lead to Athena supporting that a father's life was more important to a child's life when compared to the mother's relationship. Athena sprang out of her father's head, which supports Apollo's view about mother and child relationship. It is, however, essential to indicate that Athena's mother was assimilated in Athena's father's body. Athena's mother and Cassandra's treatment by the men who loved them are similar. Zeus, Athena's father, was jealous of his wife which led him to insult and assimilate her in his body. Similarly, Apollo was jealous of Cassandra's after rejecting her, and as a result, he punished her which led to her death.

Extroverts and Introverts

When you hear the word “introvert”, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? A lot of people would think words like shy and reserved. Broadly speaking, an introvert, is one who has turned his attention in on himself. An introvert is more concerned with his own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things. An extrovert, on the other hand, is one who has his attention turned outward. They are more concerned with what is going on around them. Now, being an introvert is different from being shy. Shyness is the fear of social judgment. Introversion is more about the way you react to stimulation, which includes social stimulation. After an hour or two of being socially on, we need to turn off and recharge. We gain energy from being alone. An introverted person can either be his own best friend or his worst enemy. A common assumption made by people is that introverts like to be lonely. Do not mistake being alone to being lonely. Being alone is spending time in solitude or having time to yourself but feeling lonely is a whole other thing. Being lonely is feeling abandoned. Being lonely is feeling alone in a room full of people. Being lonely is craving human company but not knowing how to attain it.

Ever since I was a kid, I preferred being alone rather than in large, crowded rooms. I would often get tired from being outside too much and being around too many people at a time. I know people that have sleepovers and go to parties on the weekends for fun but honestly? My idea of fun on Friday nights is laying in my bed just reading books and watching Netflix. For an introvert, there is nothing better than being in solitude and even better when being alone with someone else who also wants to be alone. This may sound super antisocial but this is my definition of a good way of spending time. I love it when my best friend and I spend time together doing nothing and it doesn’t feel awkward. Just their company is enough. You have the animal warmth next to you and that alone is enough to make you feel like someone understands you. It gives you the opportunity to go roaming around in your own mind and think of things that might not have been easy when in a loud company.

Extroverts crave a generous amount of outer stimulation whereas us introverts- they feel most active and proficient when they’re in quieter, more low-key environments. Nowadays, most of our schools and workplaces are designed for extroverts. The activities they expect us to do are more for the needs of extroverts to receive that external stimulation in order to do their best. But, what about the introverts that want to do their best? Okay, let’s just take a moment to picture a basic classroom. When I think of a classroom, I think of a big teacher desk at the front and rows and rows of student desks at the back. But, that’s not how it is these days. Now, you would see a couple of desks joined together so that 3 or 4 kids are facing each other. Usually, these are the kids you are supposed to work with when doing group assignments. Even in subjects like math kids are expected to work together as a team. And for the ones that prefer to fly solo, they are seen as loners or rebellions or problem cases, even though the only reason they prefer to work alone is that they do their best when there is no outside pressure. Usually, the teacher’s favorites and ideal students are extroverts even though introverts do way better in class according to research.

Why is it that talkative people are rated as smarter, better- looking, more interesting, and more desirable as friends. I can tell you right here. Right now, that introverts have a whole universe full of things in their minds that only some people are lucky enough to know about. They are fiercely loyal and honestly, much more relaxing and calming to be with.

In the Big 5 theory of personality, extraversion is one of the core traits that make up the human personality. It indicates how outgoing and social a person is. There are also sub-traits with extraversion, which are friendliness, gregariousness, assertiveness, activity level, excitement seeking, and cheerfulness. Extraverts, making up half to three quarters of the American population, are energetic in social situations, unlike introverts who keep to themselves and are tired by socializing too much. They are also less involved in social activities. Extroverts fuel their dopamine pathways in their brain by seeking out external input. They do well in team and group settings where they can interact with other humans. They differ from introverts who are more involved in internal activity and their own thoughts. They don’t require the external simulation that extraverts do. Extraverts have an advantage because they have no difficulty with communicating and projecting their ideas. Extraverts have a higher opportunity of being the staff that is sent to work seminars and conferences. Extraversion does have its disadvantages. Extroverts are able to communicate and meet people easily, but those people are often only acquaintances. They have trouble developing close, strong relationships with others. Also, people often see extraverts as “attention-seekers” or “teacher’s pet” because they are the ones to always raise their hands and answer questions. They always have difficulty being alone and often get anxious when they spend too much time alone. Introverts often are seen as less socially desirable and people don’t want to be around them as much, but they are also linked to intelligence. Studies have shown that people who lie in the middle of introversion and extraversion are often better off than those who are at either extreme. The debate of the reasoning of extraversion is pointed to nature vs. nurture. There is a clear genetic component in extraverts. Twin studies suggest that genetic contribute to somewhere from 40 to 60 percent of the variance between extraversion and introversion. The environment can also have an impact. Sibling studies previously suggested that an individual experience have greater weight than do shared experiences in families. Other researchers have suggested that the variability in this trait may be connected to differences in cortical arousal, which is the activation of the reticular formation of the brain. With advantages and disadvantages of being an extravert, genetically you cannot control which one you are. Personality makeup can be slightly changed over your lifetime, but you will always have a little bit of what you were born with.

Essay about Marriage Problems

Family is the basic, functional, and very important unit of all kinds of society.

It is a social group whose members live together and collaborate to ensure their existence.

Family is that communion in which are created stable, emotional and multifaceted relationships between members. Family is created with the marriage between husband and wife. Marriage is a special experience for every couple, no couple, does not experience it in the same way. The husband and wife is the family pillar. As such, the pillar brings to life the perspective of society, children.

With the birth of a child, marriage passes to a wider community where each gets new social roles and becomes the equal separation of the power between married partners.

The equal division of power and duties is done with the agreement of both parties.

At a moment when a couple does not find a common compromise, arise problems of different aspects. The major family problems are violence, abuse and commonly- divorce.

While I was figuring out the major family problems, I ranked them from which the maltreated are usually the easiest level to manipulate with.

Why am I saying so? Not because the maltreated can only be the children or females, because there are some cases when even males are, but, because the violence happens from them who we share well an bad, the ones that we collaborate for existence, seems that is obviously what is being talked- Intimate partner violence.

Intimate Partner Violence is considered as physical, psychological, emotional and sexual misconduct against their current spouses, girlfriends or boyfriends.

Globally, every third woman has been enslaved to violence in an intimate relationship (United Nations Development Programme 2000, cited in Knox, Mooney & Schacht, 2002, p.128). Data from the National Crime Victimization Survey prove that most (85 percent) acts of intimate partner violence are convinced against women and one out of four U.S. women say they have been victims of violence by a spouse, partner, or date at some point in their lives (Rennison & Welchans 2000, cited in Knox, Mooney, & Schacht, 2002, p.128). This violence is a kind of desire to exercise constant control over the partner, whether economic underwriting, threatening, isolating and other different methods of control. It is considered that the wish of having control over the partner usually is caused by men and is more likely to escalate and to include serious impairment.

Data from the National Crime Victimization Survey (Rennison & Welchans 2000, cited in Knox, Mooney, & Schacht, 2002, p.129), find that, between 1993 and 1998, most (about two-thirds) of the male and female victims of intimate partner violence were physically assaulted; the remaining third were victims of threats or strive violence.

In 1998 about 1.830 murders were imposed to intimate partner violence; nearly 3 out of 4 of these murder victims were women (Rennison & Welchans 2000, cited in Knox, Mooney, & Schacht, 2002, p.130). In 1996, 30 percent of all female murders were perpetrated by husbands, ex- husbands, or boyfriends. (Knox, Mooney, & Schacht, 2002, p.130). Three percent of all male murder victims were killed by wives, ex- wives, or girlfriends ( National Center for Injury Prevention and Control 2000, cited in Knox, Mooney, & Schacht, 2002, p.130).

How did the Renaissance Change Man’s View of the World?

There is no doubt that the ancient Roman Empire had a profound impact on all aspects of Western society, including architecture. However, to argue that the “Italians of the fifteenth century took up architecture at the point where the ancients laid it down in the fourth” , ignores much of the experimentation of Renaissance architects in integrating classically inspired architecture with Gothic or even Romanesque styles. However, the recognisability and the malleability of ancient Roman detailing and features was certainly useful in the creation of public buildings, such as libraries, which needed to make a statement.

The formal analysis of the Laurentian Library in Florence and the Library of St Mark in Venice, in relation to their respective Ancient Roman precedents: the Pantheon, the Mausoleum of Annia Regilla, the Colosseum and Roman triumphal arches, reveals that although there are similarities, the architecture of the Renaissance was remarkably varied in its approach to ancient Roman precedents and ideas.

Commissioned by the Medici family in 1523 and completed in 1571, the Laurentian Library is considered, by Rudolf Wittkower, to “be the most important, and influential secular building of the whole sixteenth century” . Though many notable architects worked on its construction, the design is attributed to Michelangelo, and it is an early example of Mannerism. The building was meant to be composed of three spaces: the vestibule/ricetto (Figure 1), the reading room (Figure 2), and the rare books room, but due to budgetary and structural constraints the rare books room was never completed. In the two built spaces, which strongly juxtapose one another, Michelangelo intended to utilise classical architectural features and detailing as sculptural elements both to create a sense of movement and to enhance the experiential qualities of the building. However, due to the constraints on the site, directly “following Vitruvius and the works of Antiquity” was not possible, so a more experimental approach was taken whilst still referencing great ancient Roman buildings. argue that the result of this approach is “an architectural statement of extreme, perhaps unique, intensity” .

The paired columns for the vestibule space exemplify this approach. “In essence (they) are a combination of the Doric and the Corinthian” : in the simplicity of the form and the proportions of their capitals, they resemble Doric columns, whereas the shaft’s proportions and the ornate bases and capitals emulate Corinthian columns. Placing the columns onto corbels in line with the wall, challenges the structural stability that would otherwise be radiated by the large, paired columns. Interestingly, the visitor is forced to question whether the columns or the walls are acting structurally. This question can be applied to the tabernacles that seemingly break the monotony of the paired columns: many seem only to serve an aesthetic function. The use of pietra serena for the recessed columns and the tabernacles contrasts against the stucco walls, evoking a sculptural quality. Indeed, many scholars argue that the “architectural elements effectively became the (sculpted) figures” and busts that seem to be missing from the vestibule space.

The architectural language of the reading room, while still experimental, possesses a more typical articulation of the internal wall surfaces: 15 windows framed by “projecting tabernacles” and regularly spaced pilasters emphasise the significant length of this room. Consequently, the staircase required careful attention to ensure that it unites these two volumetrically and aesthetically contrasting spaces. As shown by Figure 3, the staircase relates to the strong axis that runs through the plan of the building. Moreover, this very sculptural staircase creates a visual connection between the oval steps, which evoke fluid lava , and the ornate walnut ceiling of the reading room (Figure 4).

Michelangelo’s use of precedent for the articulation of the internal walls of the vestibule space remains controversial.

James Cooper argues that an analysis of Michelangelo’s preparatory drawings suggests he was inspired by the “interior elevation of the Pantheon (constructed in Rome in 128AD) which consists of eight solid piers which are fronted by tabernacle-framed niches and are flanked by exedrae” . In the vestibule to the Laurentian Library, recessed paired columns, which rise from the socle to the architrave, resemble these exedrae and the tabernacles sit as described by Cooper in the middle . The resemblance between the two can be seen in Figure 5. Additionally, Michelangelo’s architectural experiments with lighting strategies seem to further relate to the Pantheon: an oculus was considered to dramatically light the vestibule space from above, though structural concerns dissuaded him . The Pantheon’s use of concrete structurally freed the interior of structure and so a greater emphasis could be placed on the spatial quality and ornamentation of the interior . This emphasis was certainly adopted by Michelangelo for the Laurentian Library which has a comparatively simple façade.

On the other hand, David Hemsoll argues that while the Pantheon might have been relevant, the Mausoleum of Annia Regilla, which was completed in 160AD near Rome, seems to provide “a model (…) for the motif of the columns recessed into the wall (…) (and) for the whole of the three-bay composition with its terminal pilasters” . It may also have influenced the unusually tall height of the vestibule space (Figure 6). There are similarities with Peruzzi’s Villa Farnesina (1510), leading to Hemsoll’s overall view that “Michelangelo’s thinking about his ancient prototype was mediated through the work of his contemporaries” .

Despite being commissioned only 13 years later in 1536 by the Venetian Doge Andrea Gritti, Jacopo Sansovino’s Library of St Mark differs greatly both in aesthetics and its design process from Michelangelo’s Laurentian Library. William Anderson argues that “nothing in the earlier phases of the Renaissance movement approached so nearly to antique Roman ideas as Sansovino’s Library” . And yet it is considered to be Sansovino’s masterpiece of the Venetian Renaissance . Indeed, Andrea Palladio described it as 'perhaps the richest and most ornate building that there has been since ancient times up until now' . In plan, the building appears as a narrow strip with an arcade along three of its sides which expertly opens the building up to St Mark’s square and the wider public beyond (Figure 7). This simple plan form enabled Sansovini to introduce a highly ornate façade system, created almost exclusively from the layering of ancient Roman details and architectural elements.

Sansovino’s approach to façade design (Figure 8) as a “sequence of three-dimensional members – piers, columns, entablatures, and so forth – and not a two-dimensional plane” , aligned well with the “ancient discipline of Vitruvius” . On the ground level engaged Doric columns carry a highly detailed entablature that follows the rigorous Vitruvian principles for the corner of a Doric frieze, which is a celebrated detail of the building due to its originality as a solution . All these details have been successfully integrated whilst still keeping “the lower and open arcade (…) almost perfect in its proportion and treatment” . Although the use of the engaged Ionic column (Figure 9) above also keeps with the ancient Roman hierarchy of orders, the upper levels are seemingly less successful due to the “disproportionate dimensions” of the entablature. According to Anderson, this resulted in the apparent “effect of (the whole) being carved, like the tombs of Petra, out of living rock” . There is also a richness of classical ornamental elements, such as statues, spandrels, obelisks, and keystone heads.

Due to Sansovino’s more classical approach there are undeniably ancient Roman precedents for his library. Despite its noticeable lack of ornamentation, he was certainly influenced by the Colosseum’s hierarchy of orders, engaged columns, and extensive use of arched arcades . Interestingly the heavier attic storey, which is expressed with Corinthian pilasters, in the Colosseum (built in 80AD in Rome) might well have served as the inspiration for Sansovino’s heavier upper entablature (Figure 10). The Theatre of Marcellus (completed in 12BC in Rome) also possessed a similar hierarchical system of the engaged Roman orders. The use of this motif in two major ancient Roman public buildings strongly suggests that perhaps this visual language in the period of antiquity, and in Sansovino’s time, has direct connotations with public functions, and secular power. Arguably, this clarity of message could not be provided by the Gothic or Romanesque architectural styles as they had perhaps become too associated with religious power.

The lack of ornamentation on the Colosseum and the Theatre of Marcellus suggests that there was another building typology, used as a precedent by Sansovino. Sansovino’s treatment of the tripartite windows (or serlianas), while reminiscent of Bramante’s windows in the Sala Regia of the Vatican, was informed by a closer analysis of ancient Roman triumphal arches . An analysis of the way the sculptural elements have been integrated into the architecture of the Arch of Constantine, which was constructed in 315AD in Rome, reinforces this concept (Figure 11). In both examples the statues sit above the columns in the attic storey, thus expressing the divisions and accentuating the verticality .

Although Michelangelo and Sansovino have taken entirely different approaches to the ancient Roman architecture that surrounded them, there is no doubt that the distinct and enduring nature of ancient Roman detailing, whether that be experimented with or implemented according to Vitruvius’s rules, conferred the status and symbolism that a public library in the Renaissance era required. However, they were not fascinated by the precise replication of ancient Roman architecture, but rather by the intrinsic sculptural qualities of these classical architectural elements and how the layering of them could lead to exciting new architectural compositions.

The People who Make my Life Interesting

“Consider yourself blessed to have someone in your life who wants you to be better and do better” (Unknown). The person who always pushes us to move forward and wants us to be successful in life is the one who really loves us. Many have shaped me to be the way I am today, but the one person who impacted me the most is my mom. A lot of people impacted me by constantly making false compliments on how well I do in life, which makes me feel proud of myself. However, my mom does not expect me to listen to those false compliments because she knows I will not try as hard as I should. My mom has been with me through the ups and downs; in fact, she has been a wonderful influence in my life. My mom is an average looking person; she dresses very simply. She has beautiful long hair; her hair looks like a midnight sky streaked with shooting stars as she gets older. Her eyes crinkle whenever she smiles. Her lips are the color of raspberry jam. Her fingernails are always looking dirty because of how hard she works; indeed everyone who meets her for the first time can easily tell that she is such a hard worker by looking at her hands. She is chubby like a teddy bear; I usually address her as “dumpy bear” and everyone in the family automatically knows that I am talking about my mom. My mom has a sharp eye because she can see exactly what a person is thinking by glancing at that person. Whenever I think of my mom, I always think of a cheetah because cheetahs are always protective of their kids. My mom is very strict about everything I do. For instance, she checks my phone every night to make sure I do not communicate with people that have a negative influence on me. I usually get upset over what she does because I think that I am old enough to determine whoever I want to talk to.

However, I was wrong. Even though I am grown enough to realize things, I am still her child and she knows what is best for me. She nags often, but without her, I would not have gotten to where I am today. Furthermore, she is very emotional; she cries over my mistakes or whenever I talk back at her. She usually acts cold towards me whenever I disappoint her. She is very contemplative; in fact, she always thinks before she performs an action. She always reminds me of the color purple because she appears lonely from time to time. My mom used to work on the field out in the countryside back in Vietnam. During the summer, she cut the wheat and distribute them to different factories in town. During the winter, she planted potatoes, peanuts, and all other plants. Despite the humidity of all the seasons, she worked as long as she could to earn money to take care of me. Now she’s older and is not able to work as much anymore; she can only work part-time at an Asian market. She goes to church every Sunday. She loves to do chores; she is very active. She likes to listen to jazz music because it sounds peaceful, and it fits her mood. My mom and I usually cook together on the weekends; she has taught me a lot of things about cooking. We study English together; we help each other improve in English. We shop together; she loves to shop because she always wants us to look good whenever we go out. Every mother always wants what is best for her kids; my mom is no exception. She always wishes that I can be better each day, be successful in life, and be independent. Most importantly, she wants me to be able to realize my mistakes, give up my ego, and stop being stubborn.

I still remember the quote she has been telling me ever since I was a kid; she says “be independent because I cannot live forever to take care of you; no one is going to take care of you except yourself.” I am going to try my best to make my mom’s wishes come true by focusing on and making good grades in school. I want my mom to feel proud of me, and I want to let her know how important she is to me.

The Pursuit of Happiness (summary Essay)

The Pursuit of Happiness explains the life struggle of a single father named Chris Gardner. His wife had left him due to financial issues and him and his son were constantly fighting an uphill battle as they were kicked out of multiple apartments with no place to go. Chris eventually lands an internship at Dean Witter, a prestigious brokerage firm, but this position pays no money. Gardner continues to sell bone density scanners while taking on the unpaid internship, with slim chances for advancement to a paid position. He leaves the internship early each day in order to receive a position in a shelter, meaning he must work double what all of the other interns work in order to keep up. Chris works harder than any of the interns and despite all of his disadvantages he manages to receive the paid position at Dean Witter’s firm. He goes on to make millions and even started his own company.

This movie demonstrates many different aspects we have studied such as race, social class, marriage, jobs, and relationship trends. The movie begins with Chris and his wife, Linda and they are having financial issues and struggling with a process we know as the “Second Shift”, an article written by Arlie Hochschild . They are both trying to develop the right emotional balance between child, spouse, home finances and their outside jobs. Chris is determined to sell his scanners and Linda is working long shifts in order to pay for their home and child care, but along the way they forget to focus on the emotional balance between spouses resulting in them separating. This supports Kathryn Edin’s theory that low-income women don’t believe being married substantially improves their lives, Linda believes staying married to Chris was only causing negative effects and more stress in her life. It also reinforces the statistical results that African Americans are more likely than whites and Hispanics to have children that live in a single-parent home. Chris also falls under the category of the working and poor class, he is poorly educated despite his natural intelligence, and works a full-time job of attempting to sell the bone density scanners while being on the verge of poverty. He had chronic difficulty in making money to support his and his son’s basic needs while depending on public benefits, such as shelters, in order to survive. This demonstrates aspects of the conflict theory, Chris is constantly trying to provide for his son, meaning he even left his internship early in order to pick up Christopher and receive a spot in the shelter every night. Chris and his son also transition from relative poverty to absolute poverty throughout the movie, as they lose their home, and Chris no longer has any bone scanners to sell and is relying primarily on his internship.

In the beginning of the movie they are in relative poverty, Chris and his family have a much lower living standard than most families, they still have food, water, shelter, and basic necessities, but they are struggling to maintain them. After Chris’ wife leaves Chris and his son, they transition into absolute poverty as they cannot meet the minimal standards for food, shelter, clothing, or health care. At the bottom of the scale Chris experiences difficulties in the job market and endures periods of unemployment once his last scanner is sold. The job of selling scanners doesn’t make a good use of his skills, he is intelligent and determined but is forced to try to sell scanners to make a minimum living. However, the movie also shows an aspect of the upper-middle class compared to Chris during his encounter with Walter Ribbon, who is a member of the upper class. The movie shows a clear comparison through the use of the baseball game that Chris and his son were going to watch from “higher up seats” versus Walter who had his own private box. The difference was also made clear through Walter’s car and mansion and how he owned a dog, demonstrating a picture perfect family. Walter got support from investors but depended primarily on his salary, and showed basic characteristics of an upper-middle class citizen. Another aspect we studied demonstrated in the film is the concept of social mobility. Chris and his son were able experience social mobility because they lived in an open system society. Chris is given an ample opportunity to move from one class to another based on how he performs in his internship position. He is presented with the opportunity to move from below the poverty line to the working class as a stock broker and eventually make millions. Chris quit his job in order to sell the bone density scanners but he began to lose money because they didn’t sell as effectively as planned, demonstrating vertical social mobility as he moves from the working poor class, to absolute poverty. As Chris receives the internship at Dean Witter he experiences horizontal mobility, he stays in the same social group but he spends more time working, and changed occupation despite the fact he isn’t receiving any annual income.

This movie also demonstrated the sociological theory called the Weberian Theory. This was shown through Weber’s belief that an important element in social class has to do with prestige, the social honor granted to people because of their membership in a certain group. This is demonstrated through Chris’ relationship with Walter Ribbon. He is given the opportunity to meet other people in the upper class in order to promote Dean Witter’s retirement plan and get ahead of the other interns. Due to the fact Chris had met Walter Ribbon he had a variety of doors open up for him and that interconnected with Weber’s theory of wealth, power, and prestige being interrelated. Chris challenges the theory of symbolic interactionism. When Chris attended his meeting with Jay Twistle he was covered in paint and barely wearing a shirt and he didn’t have much going for him. He had no education after high school and no steady job with annual income. The council viewed Chris as an inferior individual at first glance, but Chris challenged the belief that we stick to our split-second judgements on appearance. Chris fought for his spot and proved he wasn’t going to stick to the status quo, he knows how to get a job done efficiently and is hard working and will do anything to provide for himself and his son. Overall the film accurately explains the concepts of socioeconomics and the different concepts of social class based on race and income.

This movie focuses on the substantive area of social class and the structure of social inequality. It demonstrates the aspects of social mobility, poverty, the lower class along with the upper class, prestige, and the different sociological theories. The film conveys an accurate depiction of an open system by allowing people in poverty such as Chris to be capable of moving from one social class to another. The film also demonstrated the difficulty of social mobility and how easy it is for someone to move down a social class, for example relative to absolute poverty, versus how difficult it is for someone to move up a social class. In the film there is an accurate depiction of what it is like to be in the working poor class and the underclass and how they face everyday challenges of providing basic necessities and often need public assistance to help support them along the way. When in correlation to the theories of social class the movie accurately depicted the conflict theory by showing the challenges of someone’s social standing. However the movie countered the Symbolic Interactionism theory by having Chris challenge the “first glance judgement” and fight for his spot in the internship.

Another aspect of social class the film focused on was family based off of a socioeconomic status. This was demonstrated in the film accurately through Chris and Linda’s relationships challenges with finances to the point where it wasn’t worth it to Linda and she abandoned her family leaving Chris as a single father. Although this is a stereotype for African Americans it is statistically proven that they are more likely to be single parents, as demonstrated in the film.

The film A Pursuit of Happiness, showed insight into social inequalities and struggles of social class and helped to tie all of these concepts together in a real life scenario.

Happiness is more Important than Money

Money is the most important thing in our day to day lives. We use money for just about everything whether its for shopping, getting food, or buying a house. Most people believe money can buy your happiness just because money is a big part of everyone's life (“Money Can’t Buy Happiness «?Nicole | This I Believe”). Even many famous people suffer from depression and they have lots of money. Money can't buy someone's pure happiness. Money is a materialistic object where happiness is an emotion a person will not be able to feel the money they have in an emotional state.

How about we take Demi Lovato for instance. Her net worth is $33 million dollars. Little does everyone know she suffers from depression and suicidal thoughts throughout her childhood and now leading into her adult life (Truong). She is currently in recovery right now from an overdose that happened on July 24th 2018. She was overdosed from an unknown pill from her trying to dull the pain she was emotional in (Respers). Demi says in an interview shortly after the overdose “positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time (Schmidt) .” You see here that its the people within her life that is helping her with getting through this tough time and bringing her happiness not her money.

Have you ever been told that materialistic things can be replaced? Have you ever realized that money is a materialistic thing? The most valuable things within our lives is within us. You hear stories told about a house fire and they say everything can be replaced the good thing is that you made it out . Money can be earned back a house can be rebuilt if taken away or damaged. A study at “San Francisco State University states that those who tend to spend money on material items found no happiness in experiential purchases (Nicole).”

Happiness is an emotional feeling that is in our hearts. Everyone has something they're feeling whether its arnger, sadness, or feeling stressed out. Yes there is ways to cope with how your feeling but the way you choose to do so is going to predicted your outcome. Some say money will be the key to all happiness but as you look back to most of your memoires of being happy money will not be the key focus. When you spend time your you friends or family you feel an emotions not a value.

“People who think that money can’t buy happiness simply aren’t spending it right.” (“Three Ways Money Buys Happiness”) This is an quote from an luxury car commercials telling people that if your not happy within your life then that your not spending your money the right way. Aren't these the same people who promote happiness though ? So therefore there telling people if you dont have the right amount of money to buy certain things you don't have the same amount of happiness.

? In conclusion money will not be the soul key to anyone's happiness. Happiness is an emotions that is within you. Money is a materialistic object that is on the outside of everyone's day to day life. When you see soon looking like there having the time of their life blowing money it's not the money that doing that emotion it's the things there doing. Live your life to the fullest surround your life with the people that make you happy and live up to your best potential. Dont rely on materialistic objects rely on your emotions be happy.

The most Unforgettable Day in my Life

There aren’t many things in this world that will change a women’s perspective on life as much as becoming a mother. When I first found out I was pregnant a million and one questions ran through my head, was I ready for this? The world just seemed to stop for a moment. I wasn’t sure of what to do, what to say, or who to tell first. I knew inside I was feeling every emotion at once. I was excited, scared, SHOCKED, and happy. I knew from that moment my life had changed.

On October 28th, 2015, when my daughter was born, the mother in me was born as well. She weighed 6lbs 6oz & was 19 and half inches long. As soon as she came out I felt a sense of relief throughout my entire body. I knew at that moment I had no choice but to be ready for this no matter what. I thank god every day that my daughter never gave me any troubles as an infant. In the beginning babies are helpless. They can’t move, smile, or show affection. They just poop, sleep, & eat. It was up until about 5 months when I started to see her features change and her personality develop. First, it started with the coos and babbly conversation (with no idea what she was saying). Then, turning around for just a moment and finding her on the other side of the bed. She was a quick little one. Also, I would find humor in myself trying to do anything out of the ordinary just to make her laugh. Making funny faces and playing peekaboo were a big highlight of her day. The one thing I loved the most.

Being a mother has taught me many life lessons. I have realized it is not about me anymore. My daughter will always come first and her needs will always be above my own. As a parent you spend a lot of your time trying to teach your child things, but if you stop to think about it they are constantly teaching you as well. You realize it doesn’t take much to get a little one excited. So you learn to find joy and laughter in the smaller things in life. No matter what I’m going through or how my day was my daughter always brings happiness to my soul. Every day I feel like my daughter has grown a little bit more independent. As she grows I grow as well. During the time that my daughter learned to walk I would watch her stumble, take a step, fall down and get back up. She taught me that no matter what obstacle you have in front of you if you continue to never give up and push through you will always achieve your goals.

Motherhood has changed me in other ways as well. For instance, I find myself being far more organized then I was before. Being an organized mother you become less overwhelmed and stressed. Furthermore, Patience is the key. Every one of us has a limit to how much he or she can tolerate. This doesn’t make us a “Bad” parent. It makes us normal parents. Crying suddenly starts to become silence. Your level of disgust expands to its most. In the hustle of wiping tears, and disciplining, we can patiently wait for what’s next with no need to rush. I have also become more involved in my health. Eating healthier has become a big part of my life most importantly for my daughter. Having to be up after hours and run around after a toddler becomes very tiring. Eating healthier has many benefits. For example, it can increase energy, control weight, & improve your mood. A few ways I encourage healthy eating habits for my daughter are making mealtime’s fun, keeping no junk food in my house, and always letting her try new things. Thank god she’s not a very picky eater.

Before I became a mother I never really had a purpose in life, now I do. Motherhood revealed my path. It is the role I play in my life. It has given me a forceful mind set on my career choices, my determination to get a higher education and become the best version of myself I can ever be.

Goals for Studying Abroad

Going to a different country opens me up to many changes. For some reason change can be so much easier when its abundant, therefore I will be instituting many changes in every area of my life to acclimate to this new country and to propel my career forward. First and foremost are my personal goals. One big opportunity that comes with studying in England is easy access to several diverse countries, so I really want to experience many different cultures while still keeping college courses my number one priority. This will give me a more holistic understanding of the world and help remind me to consider everything with an open mind. In all these adventures, a plethora of memories will be made, so I plan to make a blog to record these memories and inform my family and friends of what I’m up to. This will also allow me to build up my coding, writing, and graphic design skills which will better prepare me for my future career. My last personal goal is to try as many new things as possible. This ties in to the experiencing different cultures goal, but this one will have more of an emphasis on being brave and having confidence. Bravery and confidence will be instrumental in every aspect of my life so it’s important for me to take the time to work on it.

Of course, studying abroad has a major focus on my education as well. My first academic goal beyond exceling in all my classes, is to join a business club to gain more experience in my major in a hands-on environment. I want to take to advantage of Professor’s office hours often, this will help me get a better perspective on concepts directly from the expert. Using professor office hours will also give me access to people who have succeeded in business which will help with gaining new contacts and growth of my knowledge in the field. I will be in a country rich in history, so I am determined to visit the museums and monuments that are close by. Visiting these museums and monuments are great for expanding my knowledge for graphic design as art history can be a great basis for inspiration and learning how problem solving has developed over time. This will enrich my knowledge of the world as well.

As far as professional goals, I will apply for an internship abroad to get my foot in the door at some international companies. After graduation I plan to work abroad, so this step is essential in preparing for the future. Interning while abroad is a great differentiator on resumes as well. I will finally start going to networking events to learn a little from people who are already succeeding in my career field and to secure some jobs down the road. Lastly, I want to do some volunteering to give back to my community. Volunteering, depending on where I do it can provide me with new, useful skills and resume experience.

I am so excited about this outstanding experience and look forward to reaching my goals. Thank you for considering me for this phenomenal opportunity!

Ted Bundy (research Paper)

Ted Bundy was a sadistic, notorious American serial killer who was known for his unethical murderous acts in the 1970s. Bundy was a kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophile. Bundy went after innocent women and girls, many times faking injuries to capture his victims. Many acquaintances of Bundy said he appeared to be a nice-looking man, which made many have a hard time believing he was a cold-blooded murderer. Ted Bundy had a troubled childhood and an obsession with pornography and macabre, which led to his torturous serial killings and final execution in 1989.

Ted Bundy’s childhood could be traced back as one element of who he would become. According to Biography, Ted Bundy was born in Burlington, Vermont, on November 24, 1946, as Theodore Robert Cowell to an unwed mother. Ted’s grandparents tried to hide their daughter’s shamefulness because it was unacceptable. Soon after being born, his grandmother and abusive grandfather adopted Ted. For many years they made Ted think his mother, Eleanor Louise Cowell, was his sister (“Ted Bundy”). Ted and his mother were constantly beaten until his mother moved them away to Tacoma, Washington, at five-years-old (Paoletti), where she married Johnnie Bundy and gave him his last name. “Bundy displayed disturbing behavior early on in his childhood; stories emerged about animal mutilation, violence, and incidents of sexual deviancy” (Pasqualini).

As Bundy grew to his teenage years, he became more interested in pornography, which led him to spy on girls through windows. His compulsion to control women and a mind consumed with pornography led him to kidnap. As a fourteen-year-old, Ted Bundy could successfully abduct an eight-year-old with golden blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a beautiful smile in 1961 who was never found again (Pasqualini).

Soon after, Ted began his tortuous killing sprees, making him an official serial killer. In Seattle, Washington, he attacked a twenty-one-year-old woman named Lynda Ann Healy on February 1, 1974. Healy was a brunette who was getting ready to graduate that semester in psychology, a class she had in common with Bundy at Washington State University. Healy’s roommates notified the police the day she went missing. As Healy’s room was being inspected by officials, they found her neatly made bed hiding bloodstained sheets and discovered her clothes folded and placed in the closet (“Linda Ann Healy”). Healy was not found until March 3, 1976, where officials found her skull at “Bundy’s graveyard” — known as Taylor Mountain (“Ted Bundy - Identified victims”). According to Biography, there were victims who were able to describe their assaulter as a “young, dark-haired man” who they knew as Ted. One of Ted’s techniques was to lure women by faking an injury and attacking them after the women tried to help. In the fall of 1975, Bundy was accepted into a law school in Utah where several girls began to be reported as missing as soon as Bundy arrived, leaving suspicion to arise (“Ted Bundy”). Women often reported complaints to officials about Ted Bundy. Bundy got pulled over one day for loitering and a police officer Robert Hayward found burglary tools such as a crowbar, a face mask, rope, and handcuffs which led to his arrest and soon linked him to other crimes (Carlisle). In 1975, they arrested Bundy for kidnapping Carol DeRonch, one of the few to escape from Bundy. Two years after Bundy’s arrest, Bundy escaped out a window on a field trip to the courthouse library but was caught after eight days. In December 1977 Bundy escaped again out of a hole he made in the ceiling of his cell making his way to Tallahassee, Florida (“Ted Bundy”). “On Saturday, Jan. 14, 1978, Bundy broke into Florida State University’s Chi Omega sorority house and bludgeoned and strangled to death two women, raping one of them and brutally biting her on her buttocks and one nipple. He beat two others over the head with a log. They survived which investigators attributed to their roommate Nita Neary, who came home and interrupted Bundy before he could kill the other two victims” (Montaldo).

The tragic ending of his story was his capture and eventual execution. “On February 9, 1978, Bundy killed again. This time it was 12-year-old Kimberly Leach, who he kidnapped and then mutilated. Within a week of the disappearance of Kimberly, Bundy was arrested in Pensacola for driving a stolen vehicle. Investigators had eyewitnesses who identified Bundy at the dorm and Kimberly’s school. They also had physical evidence that linked him to the three murders, including a mold of the bite marks found on in the flesh of the sorority house victim” (Pasqualini). “Although he would ultimately confess to 28 murders, some estimated that he was responsible for hundreds of deaths.” (Jenkins) As trials arose for Ted Bundy, he was given many interviews to get an inside look at his motivation for his murderous acts. On January 23, 1989, the day before his execution at the Florida State Prison, Bundy admitted that he believed he and others were “motivated to commit violence.” He also believed that “...every one of them was deeply involved in pornography without question” (“Ted Bundy’s Last Interview). Hours later on January 24, 1989, Bundy was executed in an electric chair, without expressing any remorse for his victims.

Ted Bundy was one of the most feared serial killers America has ever seen. Bundy was a murderer from the 70s until his execution in 1989. He was also a man that went unnoticed many times for his cruel acts because he seemed normal, but he had a secret addiction to pornography which made him enter the world of murder. Because his demeanor seemed normal, many times the police officers overlooked the possibility of his guilt. His outward appearance failed to convey his inner demon. His secret addiction to pornography led him to a life of “being born evil, just plain evil” (“Devil’s Defender: Lawyer’s Autobiography Reveals New Details on Ted Bundy - Crime Watch Daily”).

My Favorite Game

Fortnite is the best game of 2018 because it consistently adds new material and updates weekly and allows people to play together creating a healthy gaming community. Fortnite includes techniques from many different games making it unique from others. Fortnite has seasons and they each last a month long. Within those seasons you get better by playing the game to improve your rank. Fortnite came out in 2017 but blew up in 2018 and is now the biggest game worldwide.

Fortnite is like the Hunger Games, there is 100 people who parachute out of a plane to the ground and fight to the death until there is only one person standing. To improve your rank there are challenges in Fortnite that you can accomplish and by being the last person standing out of 100. The longer you last the more you rank up and the more items you unlock. This game will have the player on the edge his/her seat with lots of adrenaline rushing through your body. By the end of the match you will either be screaming with joy or in tears.

Challenges are what keep people consistently playing Fortnite non-stop. The more challenges you complete the more items you unlock. The harder the challenge is the better reward will end up being. The most common items to unlock are skins and dance moves. Skins in the game is a character’s costume or what they look like and skins tell if a player is good or bad. The rare skins take up to a month to get, Fortnite takes a lot of time and dedication to get good at. Its an online game meant to be played with your friends to battle other people all around the world, but you can play in private matches against just your teammates to see who the best is.

What makes Fortnite the best game of 2018 is the happiness of being the last one standing out of 100 people. That’s called taking a “W” also known as a win and you get a lot of bragging rights to your friends. It’s also the fastest way to level up in the game, but extremely difficult. the other thing that makes me happy in Fortnite is when I out smart an opponent and kill him. My favorite weapon of choice would have to be the double pump shotgun strategy. Two to three shots with a pump shotgun and the opponent is down for good. My favorite place to land in Fortnite in called “Tiltled Towers” it's where about 50 percent of the people will be at so its very active and never a dull moment at tilted. There is a lot of close encounters so the shotguns come in handy.

What Makes a Hero himself

As of late, "heroism" has become progressively utilized. In the conventional sense, heroism is the most noteworthy sign of commitment and fortitude in open obligation execution. A hero is an individual who, for his accomplishments or characteristics, is viewed as an ideal, a guide to follow. Who truly merits this high title - a genuine hero? I accept that main those individuals who can forfeit themselves to benefit others become heroes.  Heroism, as I would see it, is the most noteworthy sign of humankind. Just individuals with genuinely honorable characteristics, who have sympathy and obligation, can feel the situation of others and give their lives for other people. Yet, frequently, heroism is a prize for somebody's defect, shamefulness.

We can review numerous clear instances of allegorical inclusion of this thought. Truly outstanding among them is John Coffey, a heartbreaking hero, the hero of Stephen King's original The Green Mile. With the assistance of his gift, this man submits a heroic demonstration - he attempts to save two young ladies from death, despite the fact that he, at the end of the day, might be associated with murder. Eventually, he is condemned to death for a wrongdoing he didn't carry out, yet in favor of this gutsy and honorable man - reality and the peruser's compassion.

Demonstrations of heroism are showed in some uncommon, exceptional conditions wherein the person who should quickly settle on his decision (and for this, he should be no less than a nice individual). It is a pity that such conditions frequently emerge because of the flightiness of those whose work it was to keep away from such circumstances. In this manner, the inescapable misfortune of the person in question, reprisal for another person's culpability is intensely felt in the heroic. Instances of this in history and in current life however much you need. Don't firemen in Australia who took a chance with their lives to save individuals and creatures from an awful fire merit the title of heroes? What's more, aren't the many specialists who are helping individuals who have been struck by the Covid pandemic at the expense of their own wellbeing a hero? Obviously, they are genuine heroes - not from a book, not from a film, but rather, in actuality.

Hence, just brave and honorable individuals are fit for heroism. It requires an ability to settle on a decision for the individuals who need your endeavors at a critical time. Obviously, this is unconventional just to high upright individuals and is showed in their activities only one out of every odd day however in unique grievous conditions that require penance.

At the point when customary, regular individuals' honesty, courage, and diligence radiate through, their heroism appears to contrast and that of the bosses. Many individuals don't view themselves as heroes in light of the fact that possibly they don't attempt or they don't accept they are sufficient to be "heroic." Despite those contemplations, heroes are something beyond cliché figures with controlling positions. All things being equal, heroes are just ordinary creatures who don't search for freedoms to expose themselves, yet rather endeavor to debilitate the lines to emphatically influence people around them. I'm exceptionally glad to clarify the heroes in my life and how they have helped me and my friends, and I am certain that a few individuals I recorded may have been referred to by my different cohorts, also. This has advised me that I ought to make sure to look for the heroism in my own self: to impact those to have an effect with simply a basic activity of benevolence. With that, I will reason that heroism isn't in the notoriety of oneself, yet it is of the activities of the heart.

Narrative Writing on Humans Fear and Nature

Every one of us has felt apprehensive, and we would all be able to perceive fear in numerous creature species. However there is no agreement in the logical investigation of fear. Some contend that "fear" is a mental develop instead of discoverable through logical examination. Others contend that the expression "fear" can't as expected be applied to creatures since we can't know whether they feel apprehensive. Studies in rodents show that there are profoundly explicit mind circuits for fear, while discoveries from human neuroimaging appear to make the contrary case. Here I audit the field and urge three methodologies that could accommodate the discussions. As far as one might be concerned, we need a comprehensively relative methodology that would distinguish center parts of fear rationed across phylogeny. This likewise pushes us towards the second mark of accentuation: a natural hypothesis of fear that is basically utilitarian. At last, we should point even to join the cognizant experience of being apprehensive, reviving the investigation of sentiments across species.

Laypeople have no trouble utilizing "fear" in ordinary discussion, yet are immediately befuddled by questions, for example, these. So are clinicians and researcher. Regardless of a blast of ongoing discoveries, prodded in huge part by subsidizing to assist with getting state of mind and tension problems, the field of feeling research is more divided than any time in recent memory. Quite a bit of this fracture, and a significant part of the fervor, comes from the profoundly interdisciplinary nature of how fear is being explored. A whirlwind of neurobiological information has come from two specialized turns of events: fMRI (applied to people) and optogenetics (applied to mice). However discoveries from these two methodologies, along with biological and mental work, have not brought about the rise of any agreement on the best way to operationalize or research the feeling fear. Here I audit this field according to a wide viewpoint and propose a way to deal with examining fear that expects to move past the discussions, and to revive concentrates by getting back to a portion of the verifiable roots.

Some mental speculations recommend that fear is an organically fundamental feeling, all things considered, and numerous different creatures, a view in accordance with most lay suppositions too. Yet, a few recommendations tend to disagree, contending that feelings like fear ought to be supplanted by a qualification between a fear and a frenzy framework, or "endurance circuits" related all the more extensively to versatile conduct, or dimensional records, for example, prize and discipline. An assortment of proof backings a view likewise in accordance with normal utilization: there are types fear.

The most well-known differentiation is among fear and uneasiness. While fear is normally conceptualized as a versatile yet phasic (transient) state inspired through a showdown with an undermining improvement, uneasiness is a more tonic state identified with forecast and readiness - the differentiation is like the one between feelings versus dispositions. A few plans have related fear and tension to dissociable neural designs for intervening their conduct impacts, for example the focal core of the amygdala (for fear), and the close by bed core of the striaterminalis (for uneasiness) . Nonetheless, the thick interconnectivity of these two constructions makes it hard to interestingly allocate both of them to investment in just one of these cycles. A yet better grained arrangement makes qualifications between uneasiness, fear, and frenzy, three assortments of fear that each are related with specific bundles of versatile reactions yet would all be able to be planned additionally onto a continuum of danger approach (separately, from more distal to more proximal).

A practical meaning of fear spurs three suggestions that structure repeating topics all through this survey. One is that an examination, and extreme practical and neurobiological arrangement, of fear requires a similar methodology: it can't be researched in people alone. A second, corresponding, thought is that understanding fear requires cautious biological work by scientists noticing specific species right at home to depict its practical job. This thus recommends a requirement for close cooperation among analysts and neuroscientists working in the lab, from one viewpoint, and scholars in the field, on the other. A third, more speculative, thought is that a productive buy on understanding fear might be to examine how it is capable (felt) across species.

The initial two proposals gain by Darwin's unique knowledge about the phylogenetic progression of enthusiastic articulations and expect that it will be simpler in many regards to comprehend fear in rodents, zebrafish, or even spineless creatures, than in people. An advantage of remembering creatures with less difficult cerebrums for this reach is that it constrains us towards an idea of a fear express that is more theoretical and practical, as opposed to one attached to a specific neurobiological execution or kind of cognizant experience. Another explanation it is favorable to research fear in nonhuman creatures is obviously that many examinations are just a lot simpler, or just practical, completed along these lines - going from optogenetic control of exactly characterized cell populaces, to planning of quality loci that add to fearfulness. Actuating fear in the lab in biologically legitimate ways additionally is a lot less complex in creatures other than people (who regularly realize they are important for a trial).

A key current test is to gather our insight at the degree of individual constructions, cores, and neuronal populaces, to information at the degree of circulated enormous scope organizations (a test that swarms all of enthusiastic and social neuroscience). An arising topic from such organization ideas is that there are structures more worried about straightforwardly arranging fear-related reactions (e.g., PAG and nerve center), and designs more worried about setting subordinate tweak. Quite compelling for the last have been prefrontal cortices, which a few plans have divided into orbital and average organizations, supporting preparing of sincerely striking tactile upgrades and coordinating of instinctive enthusiastic reactions, individually; and into ventromedial and dorsolateral networks identified with remuneration handling and intellectual control. Besides, such organizations can be identified with explicit synapses and levels of activity for pharmacological mediation. The amygdala assumes a critical part in intervening among brainstem and cortical levels, with explicit cores taking part in particular organizations that might be comparative across species. Analyzing these organizations and understanding their pharmacology, establishes one of the principle research parts towards treating fears and tension issues.

There is no single mind structure for handling fear, and surprisingly a little arrangement of fundamental and adequate constructions has not arisen. One probably reason that it has been hard to track down obvious proof of a committed fear circuit from fMRI concentrates in people is that it is currently clear that somewhat unique enthusiastic practices, going from protection to animosity to mating, are constrained by explicit populaces of neurons that are spatially inside a similar construction and henceforth unresolvable utilizing fMRI. Much the equivalent is valid for esteem encoding overall: neurons inside the amygdala encoding positive or negative support give off an impression of being firmly intermixed, making their representation with normal fMRI approaches tricky. One more explanation is that fear evoked by various classes of boosts (flightiness, social, hunters, and so forth) might be prepared by part of the way divisible neural frameworks. There is better proof, and more motivation to accept deduced, that drawn out frameworks contained an organization of constructions could be recognized. Some fMRI studies have recommended this, and a few models have been proposed. At last, we might have to redraw the limits of the part structures, in any case: networks for preparing fear will comprise of explicit subpopulations of cells stretched out across a variety of designs.

How could it be that I can tell my feline is apprehensive? Commonly, I sort this out from all proof accessible, which incorporates the current circumstance (are there fear-initiating upgrades or setting) and the creature's conduct. Darwin's nitty gritty perception of passionate practices in infants, grown-up people, canines, felines, and different creatures showed that numerous practices were strikingly comparative across species. Obviously, there are additionally contrasts between species, contrasts among people, and things are incomprehensibly more perplexing in people than in a mouse. In any case, similar just as formative perceptions recommend that a productive beginning stage is in any case a crude idea of fear that is shared across well evolved creatures (or considerably more comprehensively than that), and afterward research the minor departure from this subject. The neurobiological proof is then one extra piece of proof, enhancing the social and situational hints, and permitting us to start developing causal connections between these.{

Impact of Mobile Phone in our Daily Life

In July 21, 2015, a car accident happened when Carlee R. Bollig, an unlicensed teen driver, ran a red light and crashed her pickup truck into a minivan as she updated Facebook on her phone. Charles, the driver of the van, and his 10-year-old daughter Cassy were killed while Bollig and three others in her pickup were injured but survived.

Accidents like this increased noticeably as mobile phone addiction became more and more pervasive, especially among American young users. Even though a few people still doubt about the reality of this problem, many researchers and most customers already admitted cell phone addiction was a real thing. With the rapid innovation of the phone itself and the invention of social media, more people started to have phone and use it excessively, aggravating cell phone addiction. The perpetuating factor of cell phone addiction is similar to that in drug abuse - using phone increases dopamine level in human brain which makes people feel rewarded and want to use phone more (Lennington 13087). This problem turned out to have numerous negative effects on human. Distraction from cell phone use caused thousands of car accidents and tragic deaths. Overusing phone also damaged human’s physical and psychological health.

Mobile phone addiction is the obsessive use of phone which causes the user’s daily life to be interrupted. According to American Psychiatric Association, addiction is an excessive use of a substance leading to interference of the user’s life, manifested by physical or psychological dependence (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Based on this definition, excessive phone use is an addiction because it interrupts many aspects of human lives. For example, a student who spends too much time on phone has less time to study and therefore reduces his/her academic performance. This example also demonstrates one of the typical symptoms of mobile phone dependence described by professor Choliz Mariano in 2010, “interference with other school or personal activities” (Choliz, 374). Other symptoms of phone dependence he mentioned include “problems with parents associated with excessive use,” “a gradual increase in mobile phone use to obtain the same level of satisfaction,” and “emotional alterations when phone use is impeded” (Choliz, 374). The last symptom is known as nomophobia or having the feeling of anxiety for being out of cell phone contact (Cresswell). Because people using phone excessively developed dependence symptoms similarly to those using drug and had their live destructively interfered, it is reasonable to claim that cell phone addiction was a problem. As cell phone is constantly innovated, this problem continues prevailing over time. The sad reality of humans trapped in mobile phone addiction is demonstrated through the animation made by Steve Cutts.

While a few people still doubts whether phone addiction really exists, this issue and its related problem, nomophobia, already affected many young people around the world, especially in America. According to Pew Research Center, 73% of American teens had access to a smartphone in 2015, and 100% of people aged 18 to 29 had cell phone in 2018.

Figure 3. Percentage of teens have access to different types of cell phones. Source: Pew Research Center.

More noticeably, teens spent about 2 hours 42 minutes daily on their phone, and those having smartphones spent about 4 hours 38 minutes every day on their phone, according to Common Sense Media’s census of media use 2015. These numbers are relatively small compared to 24 hours per day. However, according to a 2011 study from the National Center for Education Statistics, on average, high school students spent 6.8 hours every week or about 1 hour daily on homework, meaning students spent more time on phone than on homework.

Cell phone addiction and its related problem, nomophobia, were also common in Turkish young people. Administering the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) to 537 Turkish college students, Caglar Yildirim, a professor at Iowa State University, and his research group found out that “in 2015, 42.6% of young adults had nomophobia, and their greatest fears were related to communication and information access” (Yildirim 1322). This result means that for every 10 young people, four of them had nomophobia, and in this particular study, about 215 students experienced nomophobia. Based on these data, it is convincing to claim that a lot of young people in America and other countries were addicted to cell phone, manifested through nomophobia and the amount of time they spent on this device.

While the data about the popularity of cell phone overuse may be surprising to many people, researchers in 2000 already recognized the issue of cellphone addiction. For example, in “Alcohol, Drug, and Cell Phone Addiction: Twelve steps to recovery” article, which was published in May 18th 2000, Dr. John Gyorki gave a clear description of phone abusers, “when on the phone, these abusers change their voices from normal conversational tones to screaming or shouting.” Dr. Gyorki’s vivid description about phone abusers shows that this problem has existed for many years. Even though phone addiction appeared long time ago and people took phone for granted, this was not always the case. In fact, the first handheld mobile phone was invented only 46 years ago and the term “smartphone” did not appear until 1995. With the rising of technology, cell phone developed from a call-only 1.1 kg device (1973) to a 138-g smartphone with multifunction, such as connecting to Internet, thus social media, playing games, watching movies, etc. These innovations caused more teens to use phone. According to a 2011 study conducted by Pew Internet and American Life Project, 75% of teens owned cell phone, rising up from 45% in 2004. Last year, 2018, 95% of teens reported they owned a smartphone, according to Pew Research Center.

The amount of time people used phone also increased noticeably. This trend is reflected in the following chart cited from Flurry. In 2016, one person spent about 5 hours per day on mobile devices, including phones and tablets, rising up from 2 hours and 42 minutes in 2013.

Figure 4. The average amount of time, in minutes per day, a U.S consumer spends on mobile devices from 2013 to 2016. Source: Flurry.

Another study conducted by comScore reported that on average, one U.S customer spent about 2 hours and 51 minutes per day on phone in 2016. Last year, 2018, eMarketer calculated that Americans spent about 3 hours, 35 minutes daily on their phones, an annual increase of more than 20 minutes. These data clearly show that the amount of time people use their phone increased rapidly. What caused people to spend more and more time on their phone?

The leading factor is the invention of social media. With the creation of Facebook in 2004, Youtube in 2005, Twitter in 2006, Instagram in 2010, and Snapchat in 2011, people had more reasons to use their phone. This is also what Deloitte, a multinational professional services network, found in July 2017. After conducting a survey of 1634 U.S smartphone owners, they reported that U.S smartphone users checked their phone 47 times a day and about 60% of them said that they checked phone for Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or other social media notifications. Another study by Bank Mycell proved the causal relationship between social media and the increasing amount of phone usage. This survey reported that in 2016, the average phone user spent 76 minutes a day on their phone to use the top 5 social media apps - Facebook, Youtube, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter. Combined by the mentioned data from comScore about the amount of time people used phone in the same year, this means that using social media accounted for almost half of the time people spent on their phone. In another word, if social media had not exist, people would have reduced the amount of time they spent on phone by half.

Worse, once people started to use social media on phone, they were trapped into the cell phone addiction cycle. Similar to taking an addictive drug, using social media on phone increases the level of dopamine which triggers human brain’s reward system. As dopamine makes people feel rewarded, any action increasing the level of this chemical is reinforced (Kalivas 223). By bringing good news and social support, such as an updated story in Snapchat, a comment in Instagram, or simply a “Like” in Facebook, cell phone triggers this “happy” chemical. However, because dopamine is soon metabolized, people are unconsciously induced to check their phone frequently to get a little hit of it. Furthermore, similarly to drug tolerance which refers to a person’s diminished response to a drug, phone users need to check phone more frequently and spend more time on this device to get the same level of satisfaction. This cycle continues endlessly, leading to harmful effect for phone users.

As people became addicted to phone, they suffered many negative effects from this problem. The immediate consequence is that cell phone put its users and other people into danger, as in case of accident caused by Bollig in July 2015. Another example is a Missouri accident on August 5, 2010. This deadly crash was caused by a 19-year-old pickup truck driver who was texting a friend about events of the previous night when he rammed his truck into the back of a semi truck, making a school bus behind him to crash into his vehicle and a second school bus to crash into the rear of the first school bus. The man and a 15-year-old student were killed instantly while 38 other people were seriously injured.

Accidents caused by distraction from cell phone use were indeed not unusual. According to National Highway Traffic Administration, cell phone use caused 69,000 crashes and 476 fatalities in 2015.

Aside from leading to car accidents, cell phone addiction also caused other horrific deaths. For instance, in Irving, Texas, in 2015, Patricia Allen’s three children drowned in the swimming pool where she stood nearby but kept looking down at her phone entire time. Another tragic happened with Wendy Rybolt of Bartonville, Illinois. In July 2014, Rybolt’s house got fired. The woman and her daughter were able to get out with no injury, but then Rybolt realized that she had left her phone inside the house, so she ran back inside to retrieve it. She could not escape the fire the second time.

Aside from putting users into these immediate dangers, cell phone also has many long-term effects on human health. Cell phones work by sending and receiving signals to nearby cell towers using radiofrequency (RF) radiation. This type of radiation has a low energy that does not damage human body tissues in a short period of time. However, as the power level and exposure time increases, the amount of RF radiation soon exceeds the level human body can accommodate and cause many harmful effect, including “Neurodegenerative Disorders –Alzheimer, Parkinson's Immune System Degradation, Tinnitus and Ear Damage, Irreversible infertility” (Singh 153). Cell phone addiction also causes eyesight problem because excessive blue light emission from phone damages retina and causes muscular degeneration, leading to loss of vision.

Aside from affecting users’ physical health, cell phone also impairs their psychological health. In fact, many studies already proved high mobile phone use led to depression and sleep disorder. After conducting a 1-year cohort study on 4156 young adults 20-24 years old in 2011, Psychologist Sara Thomee at University of Gothenburg found that high frequency of mobile phone use is associated with sleep disturbances and symptoms of depression for both men and women (Thomee). Her result is supported by biological evidence. People addicted to phone usually sleep with or around their phones, and the blue light emitted from this device “had been shown to reduce levels of melatonin, a chemical produced by the body that aids restful sleep” (“Parents Urged To Ban Phone”). Cell phone addiction is indeed a real problem which caused thousands of car accidents and tragic deaths. In addition, this problem has numerous negative impact on the alive users.

Cell phone is a wonderful device which has solved many human issues. However, the phone itself became a problem as users used them uncontrollably. With the rapid innovation of the phone itself and the invention of social media, more people began to have phones. Once people started to use social media on this device, they were trapped into cell phone addiction cycle because phone usage increased the dopamine level in human brain, urging them to use phone even more. This problem in turn caused numerous dangers, as well as damaged people’s physical and psychological health.

My Hope for the Future

What is hope? Why we need hope? Is it a state of mind or an emotion? These are the most common questions that comes to a person mind. To define hope psychologists and theorist have did lots of researches and they have come with different definitions depend on which psychologist or theorist you follow, but based on an article from California State University Northridge what they described for the definition of hope is, “Hope usually involves some uncertainty of an outcome, typically concerns matters of importance, and usually reflects a person's moral values. Hope is frequently considered a temporary condition that is specific to a given situation and contingent upon one's skills or abilities” (Dunavold). The topic of hope is not just as simple to be defined in just one or two sentences, in fact today we can find books that have been written about hope and authors have defined it from their own ideology and used their own experiences or someone else from the history as an example of hope.

Hope in the Dark, by Rebecca Solnit is one of those books that has been written about hope. In the book the author is talking about hope and its importance in a person life. She uses different stories from her experiences or stories from the past that changed the world. Also she offers methods with proofs that we should never give up on ourselves and never lose hope. As it mentions in the book about the main reason for the author to write this book was, “Rebecca Solnit make a radical case for hope as a commitment to act in a world whose future remains uncertain and unknowable” (Solnit Book cover). After reading the book we can get that it has a really useful message in it for the reader about hope, but there is a slight problem in the book’s message I believe. I mean the book message contain good stuff about hope which inspire people with hope to never give up, but it also talks about the relation between hope and faith and she mentions that there is no connection between hope and faith which is the problem according to me. As she mentions in the book, “Hope can be based on the evidence, on the track record of what might be possible…..But faith endures even when there’s no way to imagine wining in the foreseeable future; faith is more mystical” (Solnit 12. 64).

I believe if someone does not have faith he or she could lose hope so easily, and becoming hopeless is a big issue between people, in fact being hopeless could cause a person having mental health and that could end up to take his or her life, in other words doing suicide. According to a survey in 2016 by World Health Organization (WHO), each year approximately a million people dies from suicide. In the report of the WHO one of the main reason of attempting suicide is hopelessness, as it mentions in the reports, “Suicide attempts can be impulsive or associated with a feeling of hopelessness or loneliness.” Also in the report it mentions that the most suicide attempters are between the ages of 15-30.

As it shows in the graphs above the first figure shows that the number of suicide in the world is higher between low- and middle-income people than high income people, and in the second figure shows that the second most cause of death between the ages of 15-30 in both sexes is suicide.

Today in the world with this rate of suicide between the young generations has caused psychologists to do researches and find different solutions to stop people even thinking about suicide. According to, Nadine Kaslow, president of American Psychological Association Two of the most common solutions that they have found more effective are using media and social media to preform assistance with people that think of suicide, and teaching members of families, teachers from schools, colleges, and universities on how to help people that has attempted suicide or thinking about it. But I believe those two solutions have problems or they are not helpful to everyone around the world. What I mean is that according to survey done by EMarketer, a market research and business intelligence portal in 2017 from 8 billion people in earth about 2.62 billion people worldwide have access to social media and over 3.5 billion people have complete access to media. So if we do the math we get that over 4 billion people in the world do not have access to media or social media which mean they cannot get assistance if they face a mental health problems. The same problem we face with teaching of teachers from schools, universities, because based on research done by Guardian in 2010 shows that every year 70 million children across the world are prevented from just going to school, which means even teaching families or teachers about how to help young generation to not get hopeless and prevent them from thinking about suicide is impossible. Since one of the main reason of attempting suicide is lake of hope or hopelessness, I believe there is two solution that could help people to not lose hope even if they fail in their goals multiple times and it could help them avoid attempting suicide.

The first and main reason that help people to gain hope is faith. By faith I mean believing in God, which according to Oxford religion has been defined as, “The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or Gods.” Today in the world it has been estimated that there are 4200 religions, in which Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism are the religions with the most followers. If we study those religions we can find that more than 95 percent of them are giving their followers a type of hope about the future. For instance if we study Islam it offers hope to its followers and mentions that those who does not have hope are disbelievers. As it mentions in the Quran, “O you who believe! be patient and excel in patience and remain steadfast, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful” (3. 200). We can find the same thing in other religions like Christianity that asks for its believers to have hope for the future, as it mentions in the book of Jeremiah, “For I know the plans I have for you. declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (29. 11). What this means is that hope plays one of the most important role in most of the religions in the world. Although most of the religions are against the hopelessness, but how a person who is already hopeless about the future could gain his or her hope with faith? To answer this question I can give an example of my friend from high school in Afghanistan. After graduating high school Ahmad from my class tried twice to get in to the state university, but he failed both time and lost hope so he tried committing suicide. He was lucky that his family saved his life. When I and my other classmates went to see him we found out that he lost his hope that he could never continue his studies and can never be the person he wanted to be. What we did were that we asked him to believe in God and that not to lose his hope from God and it is a test from God. A couple months ago I contacted him and found out that now he is one of the most successful person in his family. When I asked him about his life and what changed him, his answer was, “God helped me”. From his story what I learned is that faith and hope are always together, in fact we cannot have one without the other.

After faith the second most important solution that could help a person gain hope back is having patience. As I mentioned in the above that when a person become hopeless the only way that the person gain hope for the future is faith, so in that case patience plays the key point in it. To prove what I am saying by using an example of my religion Islam that asks from its followers to have patience. For instance, Prophet Muhammad in the book, Sahih Al-Bukhari, mentions, “The example of a believer is that of a fresh green plant the leaves of which move in whatever direction the wind forces them to move and when the wind becomes still, it stand straight. Such is the similitude of the believer: He is disturbed by calamities (but is like the fresh plant he regains his normal state soon). And the example of a disbeliever is that of a pine tree (which remains) hard and straight till Allah cuts it down when He will” (70. 547). By saying the word patience it does not mean that a person should do nothing and just say that God will do it for me, in fact that is the opposite of patience. Patience means a person who want to achieve his/her goals by trying hard and never give up even it take long time to get a good result. For instance, to prove that how patience plays it role in having hope for the future let’s pretend that there is a man who currently diagnosed with cancer that could kill this person. So he goes to the oncologist and starts the treatments that are needed. When this person tries hard enough and do whatever the doctor ask him to get well is a sign that he has faith on the doctor and that means he has hope, but to get to the final result as a cancer free patience he need to have patience which is only way or else he will lose hope. Patience is not just waiting but acting to, and to be successful in our life we need patience. As Joyce Meyer an American author says, “Patience is not simply the ability to wait - it's how we behave while we're waiting.”

As we know Hope is something really important in our life, because its hope that make us to follow our goals and think about future, and without hope everyone will be a failure. Also from the history of mankind it has been proven that it was hope that changed the world, and has been used as one of the most dangerous weapon between the people that brought fear in the mind of biggest empires and leaders, as Joseph Stalin said, “Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas?” Because it was hope and ideas that caused revolutions and changed the world like famous French revolution in the 17 century that changed the western world and brought democracy. As it mentions in the book that to have hope you have to have a good imagination, but the problem with the book is that the author think there is not a single connection between faith and hope which I believe is completely wrong. Because I believe not having faith means not having hope and to become hopeless means death. Also it is in every religion that tells to its’ followers to have patience which means hope can only achieve by having faith in God.

Girl Trafficking Problem

Did you know sex trafficking is one of the quickest expanding criminal schemes in the world? Sex trafficking is an important issue that occurs in our society every day, and unfortunately, there are many of us that have little knowledge of what sex trafficking and human trafficking is. Sex trafficking can be defined as illegally hiring, transporting, acquiring, or providing an individual for sex. It is believed that sex trafficking is something that only happens from one country to another, but many of us do not know that it happens within our own country. Technology has helped to spread sex trafficking so fast across the world, but it has also helped with the act of combatting sex trafficking. Technology and digital devices have had a positive and negative impact in sex trafficking, both exposing children to sexual exploitation and protecting them from it as well.

The fact that the internet has become a big feature of sex trafficking today has caused a negative impact in combatting sex trafficking. Internet speeds have reached a record high rate which allows accessing the internet to become an easier task to do. Pimps and johns have used computers to help them exploit women and children at a quicker rate. A common trap that pimps and johns use is setting up false profiles on Facebook and other websites to talk to young girls and females. According to Maras, “the internet, computers, and related technologies have facilitated prostitution and human sex trafficking through the trading, buying, selling, and renting and even advertising of human beings online for the engagement in sexual activities” (17). The use of sources such as VPN servers, sites, and devices are common for predators who are on the hunt for women and children. The special features of their equipment help predators remain hidden and not be seen as suspect for illegally trafficking helpless individuals. If predators continue to have access to equipment that camouflages them, combatting sex trafficking will continue to be at a disadvantage.

Technology can also have a positive impact, in relation to its negative impact. Sex trafficking has been around even before the internet was invented so taking away the internet will not automatically stop this crime. The internet is an important resource today that can help as a way to stop sex trafficking. Police have come up with the idea to set up fake advertisements online advertising sex from children and women to lure clients who may be interested in paying for sex. These clients are then arrested and in turn, this decrease the number of clients sexually exploiting victims. Ideas like these can turn technology against the predators rather than allowing them to use technology against victims.

Digital tools allow children to easily access sex trafficking websites which gives technology a disadvantage. Cell phones, laptops, tablets, and other devices are used every day by children across the world. According to a 2010 survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, “most teens- 85% of those aged 14 to 17- have cell phones. So do 69% of 11-14-year-olds and 31% of kids aged 8-10” (Davis 1). It can be assumed that these numbers have increased, being that this survey was taken 9 years ago. Gamble quotes, “It is estimated that 50,000 sexual predators are online at any given time and that 50% of sex crimes committed against a minor involve a predator obtaining information and/or pictures from social media sites” (7). The children who are at greater risk of being sex trafficked are the ones who have little to no knowledge about the dangers of the internet. Most children are willing to make friends over the internet and predators take advantage of this, so they ask questions about the child to become their “friend”. Pimps use the questions against these children and become persuasive enough to make a child send photos in an inappropriate manner. Social media sites have now enabled location services on their apps making it easier for a predator to kidnap a child. The pimps gain money by using their digital devices to post pictures of the children on sex trafficking websites. Because of their advanced ability, digital devices have made a negative impact on the exploitation of children.

Although there are many forms of internet danger, sex and human trafficking have become the most danger ones. Children are being kidnapped every day, and they are being enforced into what is one of the largest present-day slavery problems. Sex trafficking will continue to be a very serious matter. Technology and other techniques can help the world to stand up against sex trafficking to end it. There are many beliefs that people are willingly selling themselves for sex or that sex trafficking is a form of prostitution. In reality, many of the people who are selling themselves are not doing it out of willingness, but rather are being forced by a pimp. Also, many women are poor or have nowhere to go so they cope with selling themselves in order to survive with their pimp providing them the essentials for life. There are many predators online and children are a significant risk for not knowing about internet danger. In order to keep children safe and prevent them from falling into internet traps, we must continue to advance technology in a safe and protective manner. Doing this will also eliminate the negative effects that technology has on sex trafficking, which in time, will help to reduce the risk of a trafficking incident to happen through the internet.
