Character Analysis on Pygmalion

Play, like other genres of literature depends on various stylistic devices as well as characterization to deliver its message to the listeners indirectly. This is an indication that indeed characterization is crucial to literary work and thus cannot be compromised by any author. For instance, in the play Pygmalion whose author is Brandon Johnson, Eliza is depicted as the main character via whom the message is passed depending on how she interacts with the other characters in the play. Through this channel of complicated relationship between these characters we release the journey of struggle and transformation in life of Eliza. Therefore this piece of work is going to conduct a character analysis of Eliza who is a character in the play Pygmalion.

Living in neediness and battling from everyday can be an extremely troublesome approach to carry on life. Majority of us, if given the open door, would endeavor to roll out improvements to our lives and our circumstance on the off chance that we could. Pygmalion is a play by George Bernard Shaw that recounts the tale of a poor, youthful blossom young lady who has been disregarded and ignored in light of her appearance and way she talks.

Notwithstanding the hard life, she's still brimming with hope and dreams after the future, as it is revealed by the ""decorates"" on the divider in her ratty hotel and the fantasies she regularly has in her little piggery. The factor that keeps her focused on her destiny is that Eliza knows how to grasp opportunities when come to her. For instance overwhelmed Higgins gloats that the teacher can make her a duchess, she instantly grabs the open door and makes a visit to Higgins. This is the defining moment of her life; that is, the start of her change. Without the free character and the capacity to settle on right choices and right decisions, Eliza would have remained a poor blossom young lady all her life.

Eliza shows her determination once more by developing interest in Higgin`s life. Eliza enters Higgins' living room with unexpected reasons. Her efforts to impress Higgins are seen at a point where she asks a character by the name, Mrs Pearce,Did you tell I'm that I came in Taxi?She needs to get used to white collar class behavior that both Higgins and her dad loathe. Eliza's optimal is to noticeably become an individual from the respectable white collar class, and with a specific end goal to do as such, she should learn appropriate elocution and behavior. Yet, at that point we see that regardless of the first thought, Eliza's fantastic endeavors to ace her lessons have their bases in the way that she has built up a ""doglike"" commitment to her two bosses ” a dedication which Higgins will at last reject and which Eliza will eventually announce herself free of in the following phase of her improvement.

While in company of Higgins, Eliza shows that she wasn't assured of her security and this is the reason why she replies quit weird when Higgin saidsomebody is going to touch you with broomstick.Eliza on her side responded by sayingOne would think you are my father,this was an indication of the wrath she faced from her father. She also kept on doubting her own character and that is why she repeatedly says "I`m a good girl".

The last two paragraphs depict Eliza as a completely changed person who is responsible for her own dignity unlike in the beginning where is portrayed as being a victim of circumstances. She is portrayed as a person who has temper control ,and who completely forgone life of characterized by vulgarity.

Introduction

In the current age and time, people have become careless in regards to what they read and believe especially due to the high number of online news sources. Notably, the owners of these sources are out to promote their rationale which is in most cases generated from their own opinion or experience. Gone are the days when people used to read newspaper articles and magazines which were written by well-trained professionals thus contained accurate information. Sadly, the current internet technology has brought along the rise of blogging platform through which people seek to generate cash and popularity regardless of what they pass to the readers. This paper aims at determining how the current wide use of internet has affected the way people read.

The internet Misguides and Misleads People

Without a doubt, articles from the internet can be very misleading since the writer might be passing the information you want to hear rather than that which is correct. As opposed to newspaper and journal writers who have a reputation to protect, the current breed of writers cares less about their reputation as wrong as they get fame and huge traffic to their websites which translates to extra profits. A case example is when President Trump tweeted that he had won the popular vote, which was a lie but it earned him millions of curious followers on Twitter, most of whom believed the lie to ignorance and laziness of finding the correct information from reputable and trusted sources (Herold).

Why is Fake News Popular on the Internet?

The main aim of having fake news is to catch the reader's attention which is why such news has catchy titles and attractive images. This is as opposed to the genuine news which will have real titles and related pictures. As such, a well-written article from New York Times, which is a credible news source, will be ignored by most readers since it might appear boring compared to a partisan, badly-researched, speculative, redundant, or mundane article (Bliss). After reading such articles, most people will go ahead and share them with their friends and social media platforms, thus misleading even more people. The question that arises then is how can the general public be taught not to believe in or propagate fake news?

The Need for Media Literacy

According to advocacy groups and educators, this problem can only be rectified if there is a culture of media literacy. As such, those who read online articles will take time to analyze, evaluate, and compare different sources of information which will help in making an informed and responsible decision. In so doing, people will avoid leaving comments which promote fake news. Notably, there are some strategies which can be introduced in learning institutions to help boost the culture of critical thinking. This way students will easily spot fake news, and they will have ideas on where to look for credible information.

Conclusion

Without a doubt, the internet has affected the way people used to read and interpret the news. This can be accredited to the wide array of unverified articles, most of which are partisan or speculative. As such, most people end up being misled which is mainly due to their laziness and ignorance when it comes to seeking for credible information.

The Hell’s Angels and the Police

The hell's angel is a criminal gang that mainly relies on the theft, drug trafficking, and prostitution as their source of income. It was founded in 1948 after the world war 2. Police have been in constant wrangles with this gang trying to bring to an end the criminal activities conducted by the gang. The gang mainly uses motorcycles to carry out their business which they consider as the fastest means of escaping the police. The gang involves both sexes, and they wear black jackets that bear the name hell's angels with skull symbols.

It has become difficult for the police to identify the criminal activities of the group. This is because the group uses cunning measures which allude that a group is a charity group that serves the society. Police argue that this is an outlawed group because they murder and eliminate other rivals who are opposed to their criminal activities. The police have not been able to come up with details of what goes on during closed club meetings of the group. The gang breaks the rules and laws in the society as they have the view that no police can stop them.

The police efforts to fight and execute the gang has been faced with a lot of challenges. The gang has heavy weapons which they use to attack the law enforcers and the public. The gang has a tight and sturdy managerial structure as opposed to the management in the police force which enables the gang to carry out their business with much ease. There seems to be a certain form of communication which is sophisticated and makes it difficult for the police to follow the criminal offenses of the gang.

The police continue to be determined to bring to an end of these criminal activities despite the challenges. The police have been able to employ undercover police who work with the gang to come up with details of the activities carried out by the group. This has been significant in the sense that testimonies of undercover police have been used to execute and punish members of the gang.

There seems to be a seamless connection between the gang and its leadership even after the leaders have been jailed. It is vital to note that the police have done their investigations they found that the members of the group have been able to communicate and advise others on how to carry out their business. This communication has been a significant hindrance in efforts to ly eliminate the gang, and therefore we continue to witness the rampant increase of criminal activities purported by the hell's angels.

The group has been trying to affirm their existence despite being an outlawed group. The top leadership of the gang argues that they are being persecuted due to their operation against the minor rules of the society. The gang argues that the police are trying to make a name by killing the members of the club. It is ironical that the leadership of the gang condones the drug traffickers and go ahead to say that any member found dealing with drugs will be thrown out of the group. This is a form of blackmail to the police that serves to promote the continuation of the criminal activities of the group.

The gang has established a way of defending its activities. The members of the club have personal lawyers who defend them when charged with criminal offenses. The lawyers are very sharp in defending the gang, and this turns out to be a massive blow to the police during the prosecution process. In most instances, the criminals manage to escape the criminal charges against them, and therefore the group continues to thrive.

The technology used within the gang is superior to the one under the police. The government agents have been able to recover sophisticated radio wave detectors owned by the gang. It is important to note that this is a device that cannot be found even within the CIA. The gang is, therefore, able to carry out its operation without the notice of the law enforcers.

In conclusion, the police have been successful in executing their charges against the criminals. The police have been able to carry out high profile investigations that have served as a relief to the society in efforts to eliminate the gang. The gang has now resorted to other forms of business in efforts to avoid contact with the law enforcers. The police have indeed restored order within the gang and made the members embrace the laws of the society.

Globalization is the process or the tendency of integration and increasing interaction among governments, companies, states, people and countries driven by growth of ideas, culture and international flow of funds. The process is driven by investments and trade internationally and helped by information technology. It is affected by cultural and social aspects. In certain fields like business it resides in the economic interaction and integration of world markets. It involves technology, capital, data, services and goods. Back in 1820's, that's when large-scale globalization was globally felt for the very first time. It is traced from those years. Globalized societies offer forces of web that summon people, beliefs, markets, cultures and practices onto larger proximity to each and one another.

The large number of people from different destinations worldwide access information that's far and beyond their nation borders and opportunities to make contributions on own opinions and insights. This is aided by the internet access via mobile phones and electronic computers. Failure of an investing bank was witnessed in the US as a result of unwanted subprime loans, this is said to have altered globalization in that it depressed the interbank lending globally, e.g. collapse of Iceland economy impacting the British consumers due to their deposits located on the Iceland banks. A problem or an idea in a single entity affects the globalization of all participating constituents (Jerskey, Maria, np). The unexpected Arab Spring outbreak impacted on globalization in the Middle East adversely in 2011, none had predicted such would have to do with Tunisia. To understand keenly our connected world on matters regarding globalization we require different skills and this is what promotes globalization due to the unique roles each plays. Via al-Jazeera Tunisia citizens managed to get the information on protests going on within their country, thanks to globalization.

A major paradox to this age of connection and globalization, it has become so easy in sharing important information from very different parts of the globe (Jerskey, Maria, np). Vietnam's war was transported by air from Asia, edited in the USA and later broadcasted. This supports sharing of information via satellite. Print media's pace has accelerated a lot, with publishing of fresh and new information in-form of news break. This is evident growth since papers have much fresh stories as compared to years down the line. A rise in the internet connectivity will lead to understandings globally, hence new ties will be built and maintain existing ones. Search engines have also developed over time, however they can only tell us what we all want to grasp and not the information we really need (Jerskey, Maria, np). Those who are expected to thrive with globalization according to the articles are the ones who learn to view broadly and find solutions to emerging mysteries globally.

In other words it is said that sharing arguments to do with globalization is like having arguments against the laws of nature. It is stated that at least 34% of all the shoes and clothing in the United States of Americas are products of China (Ritzer, George, np). This globalization is very beneficial to individual country economies all over the globe. This is possible due to the increased economy competition hence less conflicts between nations and states, this promotes the distribution of equal wealth portions (Ritzer, George, np). It embraces net benefits for a nation as a whole. It associated with much benefits namely, promotes technology innovation as a result of the competition that calls for improve or adoption of new technology available in the world market to keep up pace in developments. More and more global companies are boosted and grow at a rapid rate (Ritzer, George, np).

Globalization is the root of the interdependence between nations. However, the same rise of different state poses threats to the international sovereignty, this is the core reason behind xenophobic leaders in the globe. This same reason has impacted several aspects of our modern life and still in being a thriving force in the economy globally (Steger, Manfred, np). It is net beneficial and unstoppable to the entire globe's economy, it is ranked as the best common solution into maintaining and shaping world economic growth.

In conclusion, the long run benefit of globalization is much inevitable even though the bumps all along its ride are termed as uncomfortable. The vision still focuses on its major benefits that are the backbone for today's very rich and stabilized economy. The global cooperation that exists between nations enabling and supporting international business and trade to improve individual's status of life and the country's financial and social growth.

Mrs. Robinson’s Circumstance in Maycomb from to Kill a Mockingbird

There comes a time when desperate situations call for desperate measures. A good example is when an older woman tries to seduce a younger boy to get some sexual or physical pleasures from them since from the look of things; she is unlikeable by men within her age bracket this is basically because they are antisocial and do not conform to the ways of the society. This type of women is known as Mrs. Robinson. The title came about in literature and art as it was adopted from the movie,the graduate whereby the character, Mrs. Robinson, earlier known as Mrs. Roosevelt did all she could to help others but she was never concerned about herself. It reaches a point where she commits a crime against morality by trying to seduce a younger man than she. She is seen to be an outcast by the society. She starts by making moves that would attract some attention and in this case it was trying to help others.

In the book,to kill a mockingbird the Mrs. Robinson must have been Mayella Violet Ewell. She is a daughter of a civil servant in Maycomb y the name Bob Ewell. Unfortunately, in a society where most people are peasants, civil servants assume high status and they feel that they own the earth and start spending the little money they get very badly. They turn to being cons and drunkards. Bob, due to his pride in the status in the society, becomes a drunkard. He uses all the money that he earns from the government on alcohol and is left to hunt to fend for his family of 8 children. This subjects the family to abject poverty and is alienated from the community. He also rings up his daughter, Mayella as an introvert who does not know how to socialize and does not have friends neither does she conform to the rules of the society since she is presented as not being part of it. Due to Bob's behavior and actions, no one can trust them with anything. The family is also afraid of interacting with the society as they cannot really e accommodated due to their status. Their home is in a mess and no one seems to like it or admire it for it looks so pathetic.

Ms. Mayella then decides to at least make the homestead somehow attractive by growing red geraniums around the compound so that they can attract some few children to their lonely compound that never had visitors or neighbors stopping by. This is in a bid to have some beauty in life and to have some little social interaction in her life now that nobody wanted to be associated with her due to her family's poor state and her father's ruthlessness.

This bore fruit as children started passing by and even play around. But still Ms. Mayella is not satisfied with this. She feels she needs to do more than that and at least get closer to a boy even though he might be younger than her. This desperation makes her to seduce Tom Robinson, a small African boy who is among the little children who come to play around at her now somehow attractive home. Ewell does not know how to relate with people at all as she has always been indoors for shame and esteem issues. She did not mind taking advantage of anyone she could easily lure. Her victim was Tom Robinson.

One day, she saves up some nickels and sends all other children who were playing around to buy some ice cream and she is left with Tom, who she seduces. Unfortunately, her father sees all these from a window and gets very furious. When she returns home she is heavily punished and beaten up. The father frames Tom to the Sherriff who happened to be his friend and Tom gets arrested. Bob accuses Tom on claims that he had raped his daughter, something that was all cooked up and was practically impossible.

However, due to the father's influence in the society, even though he was not social and the society never had some trust in the family, they still went ahead to defend him at the expense of the poor innocent boy. Tom's left arm was disabled and could not actually harm Mrs. Robinson on the right of her face as it Bob tried to prove. Despite all these Tom is arrested and charged in court whereby Mrs. Robinson', having been so naive and antisocial never knew what was right and what was wrong and ended up in the complainant's side against Tom. She knew very well she was guilty. Eventually Tom is helped to win the case by Atticus. Atticus is shocked to find out that Mayella Ewell, does not even have any friends and does not actually know what a friend means.

From the above explanations, Mayella Ewell is seen as the Mrs. Robinson in the story having seduced a small naive boy and then framing the whole story to present that it was Tom that assaulted her yet it is clear that it was his father. His father loses the case and results to killing everyone who was against him and his family since they were proving that he was evil, which he actually was.

The War between USA and Japan

The US dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945. A lot of questions still linger why President Harry Truman ordered for the use of the atomic bomb on the Japanese. However, looking at the circumstances, several reasons may have necessitated the president's decision. First, the war was taking long to end with many American casualties, and the president was determined to end the war once and for all (Browne). The Japanese forces were not surrendering anytime soon, and with the increasingly adverse effects of the war on the economy and other aspects of the society, the president made the bold decision. There were also fears that the entry of the Soviet Union into the war would escalate the issue hence the need to bring the war to lasting end.

The president also ordered the bombing due to wide support he received both from his top advisors and the American public. Before the bombing, President Truman had constituted a committee to deliberate on the issue and give way forward. The committee was chaired Secretary of War Henry Stimson. The deliberations produced wide consensus backing the decision to use the atomic bomb on the Japanese city (Browne). The American public also supported the government decision since the prolonged effects of the war were adversely affecting them.

The US had also made advancements in bomb technology and had recently developed the atomic bomb. The Japanese war, therefore, provided an excellent ground for testing the effectiveness of the weapon (Kaiser). The scientist making who were taking part in the developing of the latest nuclear technology recommended the use of the bomb as a tool to review what needed to be done in improving the weaponry technology for the US military (Lindee 673). The president, therefore, consented to the test and ordered the bomb dropped.

Even though the president used the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, it might not have been the best decision due to the number of innocent civilians who were killed during the event. One of the reasons for using the atomic bomb was the reduction of the casualties that were as resulting from the war both from the American and Japanese military (Kaiser). However, the war ended up causing massive civilian casualty killing children and women were not significant in the war. According to Browne, approximately 70,000 people were killed in the initial blast which a high number considering the number of casualties that could have resulted if other alternative means were used.

The action of dropping the atomic bomb was also not the right decision considering that president and his advisors knew the devastating health effects of exposing people to nuclear elements. Scientifically, exposure to these harmful chemical results in cancer, birth defects for children and gene mutations that have a long-lasting impact on the populating (Hata, Imanishi and Miyazaki 408). Browne outlines that over 70,000 other people died gradually as a result of the bomb. The total deaths from that war can go beyond 200,000 since cancer, and other mutations took hold of the Japanese population (Hata, Imanishi and Miyazaki 410).

The Japanese forces were not surrendering soon even though they were already defeated hence the use of the atomic bomb. However, the other alternative to end the war was a military invasion of all the Japanese cities and islands. Unfortunately, this scenario would have caused more destruction and deaths compared the military bomb option (Lindee 675). The president and the members of the atomic bomb committee considered all these alternatives before settling on the use of the bombs.

In conclusion, the action of President Harry Truman ordering the bomb was justified since it brought an immediate end to the war between America and Japan. However, the president could have considered the devastating impacts of the nuclear arsenal before executing the action. However, considering that the military invasion option to invasion could have created severe destruction and more casualties, the use the bomb may have been the best option.

France contributed the styles in the early half of the 18th century while the latter half furniture was influenced by England. The furniture designs greatly influenced the appearance of the cabinet. This paper analysis the furniture designs in the 18th century taking into consideration the artworks in the Frick collection. Frick was one of the most influential American industrialists and housed various sculptures, western paintings and decorative arts that show the various furniture designs that were present in the 18th century (Gray, 2014). He had about sixteen permanent galleries that indicated the origin of every piece of art and the periods that they were famous. Frick rarely exposed his interests concerning the paintings and his first interest concerning artwork was known in the 1880s (Gray, 2014). Frick's house, the mansion, and the works serve as a great monument of the American art today. Majority of the art paintings concerning the furniture in the 18th century serve as great decoration in America. Hepplewhite was among the furniture in the 18th century. Hepplewhite was introduced and popular between 1780 and 1810. The style is known to be similar to the Thomas Sheraton styles and is neoclassic. The Hepplewhite furniture uses unique materials. Thence, it is made of more than one type of wood. Mahogany is the type of wood that makes the bulk of it, and it composed its base. Maple and the satinwoods were also used in making the Hepplewhite furniture. Hepplewhite furniture is characterized by straight legs. The furniture is made of heavy pieces that enabled it to hold various objects. The furniture was tapered arrow or rectangular. Their legs were sometimes shaped to meet the classical columns designs (Gray, 2014). Since they have the shapes of most of the household items, the Hepplewhite was used in the making of sofas and chairs. The common denotation of the Hepplewhite was that it was H shaped. Hepplewhite chairs had a variety of designs that included the feathers and ribbons. The most common design of the Hepplewhite chair is the side-back rest. Chippendale is also among the types of chairs that were popular in the 18th century. The name originated from, Thomas Chippendale, the man who made such chair for the first time. The most expensive of the Chippendale furniture was made from the mahogany (Gray, 2014). The less expensive pieces were made from maple and Cherry. The chairs had rounded ball legs that are a strain. Chippendale furniture has straight backs and a flat center. Chippendale designs include tables, stools, and chairs. The designs can be made from various materials depending on the costs that the owner wishes to incur (Gray, 2014). Georgian chair was also among the popular furniture designs in the 18th century. The chairs were made of mahogany from the previous Walnuts. Mahogany was preferred since they were more durable. The chairs were named after the reign of the Kings of Britain in the 18th century. The chair designs were influenced by the Italian arts. The chair had straight legs and is characterized by very many decorations. Another popular furniture design in the 18th century was the Queen Anne design (Liu, Cionca & Timar, 2015). The chair was made from walnuts and cherry. It had no backrests; had straight legs and that are rounded at the ends. The chair was named after Queen Anne. The furniture had been associated with flowers. The furniture had curved tops and cabriole legs (Liu, Cionca & Timar, 2015). The exact period in which the furniture was made was has been hard toe stablished. However, is believed that it was present in the eighteenth century when the reign of Queen Anne is established. William and Mary's design is also furniture design that was present in the late 17th century and early 18th century. The chair was made under the influence of the Dutch. The design was named after kin William and his wife Mary (Liu, Cionca & Timar, 2015). The chair design traces back to the Baroque period. It has a scroll designed legs that are rounded at the bottom. The chairs had a characteristic dark color. Maple and walnuts were the major materials used to make the furniture. The chairs had armrests and were quite expensive to make. It was made of leather on the backrest and the bottom.

Henry Ossawa Tanner

Henry Ossawa Tarner was an American painter who lived between the years 1859 and 1937. His early paintings were associated with African Americans. In one of his most popular paintings, 'The Banjo Lesson', he depicts an older man training a boy on how to play the banjo. This painting was created in 1893 when he was calling on his family in Philadelphia. He created another great painting in the year that followed. This painting was known as 'The thankful poor.' He became a successful painter in the 19th century and gained admiration from both Americans and Europeans. It was in this century that he created another famous painting known as 'Nicodemus Visiting Jesus'. This was an oil painting which had a biblical theme and led Tarner to win the Lippincott prize of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Even with the change of focus in his painting to biblical and religious themes, he was still a celebrated painter who was showered with praise and honor. In this essay, I will compare and contrast the use of color in his paintings, 'The Banjo Lesson', 'The Young Sabot Maker' and 'The Two Disciples at the Tomb'.

The Banjo Lesson is one of the most famous paintings of Henry Ossawa Tarner. In the painting, a boy is being shown how to play the banjo by an older man. The surrounding is a log cabin and there seems to be a glow from the right corner of the painting which represents a source of light. The boy uses both of his hands to hold the banjo as he gazes downwards which a reflection of his complete concentration on the instructions is being given by the older man. The man helps in supporting the banjo by gently holding it with his left hand so that the boy is not overwhelmed by its weight.

The staging of the painting depicts the idea that the man wants the boy to learn to play the instrument and reap the rewards of this through hardwork.

Tanner uses a narrow palette in this painting. The painting is almost fully monochromatic. Earth tones are prominent in the painting and are seen in the floor planks, the wall and cabinet in the back, the chair and the coat that rests limply on it, the man's clothes and the boy's pants and shirt. The earth tones are also seen in the man's complexion and the brown color of his pupil. The break away from this uniformity is brought about by the background with its blue shadows and yellow cloth. The earth tones suggest humility and plainness. The furniture in the painting appears rough and unfinished. There are only a few bright colors which represent the light from the fire. The only decorated items in the painting are the two pictures on the wall at the back. These are, however, small and not clearly defined. This brings forth the concept of simplicity and poverty. The match between the clothes of the man and boy and the setting suggests the attachment of these two people to the setting.

The cabin appears to be a structure of restriction and the grey and brown hues suggest a lot about those in the painting. They are poverty stricken and lack elegance. The concept of inexactness is also brought forth by the intricacy and finite range of the earth tones and the complexion difference between the man and boy. The boy is similar to the man but does not match him exactly. Similarly, the hues of the clothing and setting match but not exactly. This shows that the people are attached to the cabin but cannot be reduced to its roughness. The brushwork in the painting compliments the color. He uses broad strokes for the light parts of the painting to represent the background and show quality of items. On the other hand, he uses careful strokes to represent the figures. This echoes the concept of inexactness with the setting.

Similar to The Banjo Lesson, the Young Sabot Maker depicts a student learning from his master. In the painting, the older man watches the boy as he carves out a sabot using a sawhorse. The two are in a sabot maker's shop with wood shavings

Scatterings all over the floor. Although in this painting the young sabot maker is white, the final painting portrays the young sabot maker as African-American rather than French given that at the time of creating this painting, Tarner was living in France and sabots were commonly worn in this country. This painting is very similar to The Banjo Lesson as there is a prominence of earth tones in the painting which can be seen in the wood shavings on the floor, the sabot being carved by the boy, the older man's complexion and coat, the crossbar handle of the sawhorse, the walls of the shop, the table at the back, the sabots and logs of wood that have been set aside and the door. The contrast from this uniformity is brought about by the clothes of the boy which are blue in color and his complexion. The earth tones in this painting are a representation of humility and poverty. Sabot makers were people of a humble income. They were mostly deemed the kind and poor class in society. The painting also has no items of decoration apart from the two candles on the wall which are difficult to make out. The items present in the painting are simple such as the walls with no paintings, the sabots being carved and those already made. The color of the clothing of the man is similar to those of the setting which gives the idea of the ownership of the sabot shop. The boy has different colors on his clothes that contrast with those of the setting and of the man and this is a representation of unfamiliarity. The boy is trying something that he is not used to doing and this is further emphasized by the fact that the man seems to be watching the boy despite working on his own sabots.

The boy is in blue, a color that represents loyalty and faith. This points to the idea that the boy will likely work under the man as he further learns how to make sabots and the color is an expression of the loyalty of the boy to the man. The room is painted with dark hues of the earthy tones and light hues are only present in the right corner of the painting as was the case in The Banjo Lesson. Also, the painting utilizes rough and broad brushstrokes on items in the shop but they are more careful on the man and boy. This is a representation of the inexactness between the people in the painting and the setting. The painting also makes use of organic shapes in the sabots, items hanging next to the door and the wood on which the sabot is being carved. These irregular shapes emphasize nature and therefore further emphasize the simplicity of the figures as they obtain their raw materials from nature. The only difference in this painting is the race of the figures who appear to be white. However, as already mentioned, in the final painting the young boy is African-American.

The Two Disciples at the Tomb is thematically different from the other two paintings. It has a biblical theme and which Tarner adopted later on in France. The painting depicts Peter and John, as is in the gospel of saint John, at the tomb of Jesus but find no one in it. Peter gazes down grimly while John is rapt and his face is covered in white light which serves to represent the spirit of Christ in the tomb. Despite the difference in theme, there are several concepts such as contrast and color that still remain the same in this painting as with Tarner's two other paintings. There is the use of dark colors in this painting such that the left portion of the painting is dark and the right portion is light owing to the source of light emanating from Christ's spirit. The contrast in this case serves to represent a miracle. The contrast in color also sets the mood in the painting. Earth tones are also present as seen in the tomb, complexion of Peter, the background and John's robe. This represents the disciples' humble status. The right side of the painting has darker colors that can be seen in the surrounding and in the clothing of the disciples. This sets a gloomy and dark mood as the disciples did not find Jesus in the tomb. The left side of the painting is light which represents a joyous mood. This joy is derived from the glory of the spirit of Christ. The lines in the painting complement the color as they are vertical hence create a feeling of spirituality as vertical lines' perpendicularity to the earth leads upwards to the sky.

Henry Ossawa Tarner was a great American painter with several famous works of art. He commonly represented African Americans in his art as is seen in The Banjo Lesson and final copy of The Young Sabot Maker which is different from the one shown. He also commonly represented poverty and simplicity in his paintings through the use of earth tones as is seen in all the paintings above. However, the theme of his paintings changed after he feared racism in his country and moved to France where he created paintings of a biblical theme.

According to psychologists Stanley Milgram, He proved that the society members have strong obligation to stand in conformity with the authority in his famous study known as Obedience study. This reflects the need for obedience in societies.

It has been discussed by Oscar Wilde that disobedience are favorably significant for the progress of the society. Since the progression of mankind has been attained as a result of disobedience; hence disobedience becomes one of the traits of human for the social advancement (Schneider, 67). Therefore, this should not be taken as a true way for the society since it is naturally proved that as a person grows from childhood; one starts realizing that the world is governed by law. For example, one will start go to the toilet at the early ages of childhood, because it is said so.

Meme Concept in Communication

Outstanding technological shifts have characterized the last three decades. They have transformed the world. One of the most significant technological advancement was the foundation of the internet, a system that fundamentally modified human interaction. The development of the internet made it simpler for people to interact with another and the widespread adoption of the internet additionally revolutionized human communication. One far-reaching and prevalent culture that has developed as a result of easier communication is the use of memes. A meme is a conception, technique or custom that escalates from one person to another with the purpose of sending a particular meaning or idea represented by the meme. The spread of memes has significantly shaped how people communicate, and they have played a fundamental role in advancing the contemporary digital culture. Memes provide a compelling new way of blending a few things such as art, creativity, humor and the intended message.

One of the central ideas used in the development of memes is the use of symbolism. According to Porter, symbolism points to the use of figures to pass an opinion from one person to the other (Porter 2013). Modern memes have attained unproportioned success, and this is a factor attributed to the ability of the individual memes to use symbols that people in the digital culture can relate to something else. A case in point, the United States government, back rolled an internet privacy legislation established by the Obama administration and the United States population took to the internet to express their disappointment (K. a. Bajpai 2017). Smeagol or Gollum was one of the characters used in the viral memes. He is an infamous character in the film ""Lord of the Rings"" and ""The Hobbit."" The meme is captioned ""Your Browsing History We Needsss It"" mimicking how Smagol talks, but there is a deeper meaning to this particular meme.

The person behind the creation of this meme would have used any other character, but they chose to use Smagol who is an essential figure in the digital culture as he helps to convey specific ideas. In the film ""The Lord of the Rings"" and ""The Hobbit"" Smeagol is portrayed as destructive and contemptuous in that he tries to eat Bilbo a fellow hobbit only since he needs something to eat and raw fish are entirely his everyday meal (Chen 2012). This is an idea that is conveyed in the meme relating to internet privacy. The law that was reverted prevented internet providers from selling a person's internet history and cookies to third parties. By regressing this bill, Congress and the internet service providers showed nothing but contempt for their subscribers, as they disregard the importance of internet privacy to their consumers. Internet service providers pushed for reconsideration of the initially instituted law preventing the sale of a person's internet browsing history to third parties. Congress decided to roll back the bill to the previous legislation, and the internet community chose to use Smeagol to highlight the disdainful nature of internet service providing companies in America.

A different meme that was used to highlight discontent among the American digital users was captioned ""Tracking my cookies? They will never receive my recipe!"" This particular meme is very detailed in the use of symbolism and humor to convey a specific message. Internet users would not want their browsing history to be sold to third parties without their consent. Numerous approaches can be employed to attain this aim, and one of the ways that ensure that an individual's browsing history is not recorded is by browsing the internet in incognito mode (Horsman 2017). By browsing in incognito mode, a person has their true identity concealed, and this makes it harder for internet providing organizations to track an individual's online activity (K. a. Bajpai 2017). This meme uses an old woman who has a problem with her eyesight to highlight how internet users intend to complicate the acquisition of a person's browsing history by using their cookies. The meme uses humor to spread the idea that even though internet service providers treat their consumers with contempt, they are prepared to employ an array of approaches that will frustrate the proposed changes.

Some similarities can be drawn from these two memes, and one of the shared similarity is that they use images to ease information sharing, and the pictures used have a distinct theme which is buttressed by the use of short sentences. In the first meme, Smeagol is used to portray the subject of contempt of Congress and internet service providers. The second meme advances the theme of resistance against approaches employed by internet service providers to acquire the browsing history of their clients without their consent and the sell it to third parties. These two themes highlight that even though the government and internet service providers have disregarded their consumers with the introduction the new law, internet users are resolved to frustrate their efforts by not providing any browsing history and this is achievable by browsing the internet in disguised mode. These two memes present cultural symbols, social ideas and they are captioned with photos that are intended to be funny as a way of ridiculing human behavior.

In conclusion, it is manifest that one sweeping culture that has emerged as a result of easier communication is the use of memes. A meme is a creative suggestion, behavior or practice that spreads from one person to another with the aim of sending a particular meaning or purpose portrayed by the meme. Based on the two examples highlighted in this case it is manifest that memes provide a powerful, and innovative way of combining a few things such as art, creativity, humor to convey a specific message. The success of memes in expressing particular ideas can be used by different enterprises such as businesses to market new products as they tend to be cheaper and they can reach a large group of people in a short of time due to their virality. Nonetheless, research needs to be conducted to empirically establish the possibility of using memes to promote a new product and the success rate of memes as a marketing alternative. Based on the above discussion, it is clear that the spread of memes has significantly shaped how people interact, and they have performed a fundamental role in developing the modern digital culture.

Introduction

The issue of criminal justice, as well as criminology, has experienced a tremendous increase in the study over the past few years. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of individuals enrolling in the subject worldwide. There has been an evolutionary paradigm shift accompanying criminology regarding disciplinary. In the contemporary world, criminology has emerged as an independent discipline which growths daily and the advance is likely to continue in the coming days. It has remained inherently theoretical. It is highly applied both in academic and practitioner concerns of criminal justice and the associated professional service fields. This paper aims at comparing three criminology related articles and relating them to the topic of study as well as focusing on answering various questions associated with the research project. The research topic, in this case, is criminal and communal justice.

The first article chosen for the study is the one that addresses on the international criminology. It focuses on investigating scholarly influence via the determination of the most cited specialists in the main criminology articles based on the English speaking nations. The examination of one journal from each nation was carried out. Some of the journals that were investigated in the research were criminology based on British journal, criminology Canadian article, Australian, New Zealand, CRIM and criminal justice. In America, the journal that was chosen was CRIM since it's the main American journal and also it's officially used by the American society of criminology. The other journals were viewed as the leading criminology journals in their respective states. The research was meant to take a period of 5 years as from the year 2001 to 2005.

The other article is the criminal law and criminology journal that is focused on giving the history in criminology. The author seems to be celebrating the one-hundredth anniversary of the law school. The essence of criminology in the prehistoric law school is highly appreciated. The author talks about professors who are very qualified and determined to carry out their police work. The third article is about ethicality in the management of criminals which is associated with the American prison that is highlighted as the dwelling of medicine. This article shows the three levels in which the imprisonment of offenders occurs. The three levels are the local, federal and state. Nonetheless, the criminals in custody need to be given the medical attention that they require. The three articles concentrate on the criminology issue. They indicate the analysis of criminal cases and achieve valid conclusions for each matter addressed.

Relating criminology research to my topic of study, it is clear that it is essential to set some central research questions in the process of the study because they act as the key guidelines towards achieving an excellent outcome of the research. The finding of the topic of research is that the community regards the criminal act as a deviant behavior. Some techniques used in by professionals to prevent innocent individuals from criminals may sometime fail. Appropriate programs need to be used to deal with the various crimes that may be committed. For example, individuals are likely to be involved in infractions, felonies or misdemeanors. Considering the use of medical services and criminals in custody, it is ethical to provide health care services to prisoners. Medical services are part of their of the rehabilitation program. The findings of the study emphasize the need to treat a remediable physical condition of a prisoner. This is meant to restore him to normal heath status by performing the surgical operation if need be. Communal justice needs to be upheld in all situation.

The methodologies used in the research determines the outcome of the findings. A researcher may either use a qualitative or quantitative research techniques. Quantitative aims at analyzing the numerical data while qualitative uses non-numerical data such as observation, interviews, literature reviews among others. Research that uses a qualitative methodology is more efficient because sources of information are more reliable. For example, interviewing leads to the collection of firsthand information hence credible findings will be accomplished. Theoretical concepts determined the concepts that a research needs and the statistical relationship that require being implemented in the project.

Researchers who are studying the same topic in a project may end up having variation in the overall outcome of the project. Policy implications can be explained regarding the time, goals and deliverables. For example, there is a possibility for individuals to spend different time in conducting the research. Some may use more time while others less time. Researchers might also have the same topic of study but end up having different objectives. This leads to variation in the projects. The data used in the study also determines the findings. The future research seeks at determining the circumstances that tend to escalate criminal activities. Methods of de-escalating the criminal acts will be established to promote security in the community.

O’Brien’s Lives of the Dead Book Review

The inter-relationship between fiction and imagination are critical in the defining the Vietnam war in O'Brien's book. War is real although the soldiers are fictional. In chapter four Tim chooses to go to war to be seen as brave despite his fear and shame. Tim also feels the guilt and shame of killing a young man and sees nothing brave in the act. Most of the men join the army out of a need to fulfil their social obligation to society. Norman Bowker joined the war out of popular cultural pressure and the need to impress his father and the society with medals. He succeeds in getting all the medals except one and the social pressure continues to haunt him even after returning from the war evidenced in the need to be a good citizen and hold down a job and have relationships.

The story on the Rainy River shows evidence of social pressure as he receives his draft notice and does not want to fight in a war he does not believe to be just. His peers have a motivating factor in his decision about the war and O'Brien has fear of being ashamed before his peers. The decisions that O'Brien makes to fight in the war and not to flee into Canada arise from the social influence his family and community have on him and what they would think of him if he does not fight in the war.

1. Did the trial address a clearly focused issue?

The trial addressed a clearly focused issue because the population covered was old people who were aged between seventy-four years and one hundred and their years (Moyle et al. 2014). The mean age was eighty-five years and a half. The group used to so the research are people who have a common characteristic which is, all of them have dementia which is either mild or severe. The samples also have a common characteristic which they all have an agitated behavior. Therefore, the research was explicitly addressed.

2. Was there a randomization of the assignment of patients to treatments?

The assignment was randomized (Moyle et al. 2014). Election of participants was from a sample of sixty. Then blocks were developed, and six samples were taken from every block. Selection of six participants per group is intended to balance the equation of the size of the sample. Every block was equal, and the selection of equal sample was a way that increased the possibility of having examples that are not determined by the researcher depending on their interest but because they have a common characteristic which is dementia that is either mild or severe. Participants were identified using a computer program. However not all of them who completed the process since some died before the research was over.

3. Did the research account for all the patients who participated in the research properly at the conclusion?

The patients who were used in the analysis were properly accounted for because the entire participant went through the same process (Moyle et al. 2014). None of the participants completes the process before the other, and they all went through the same process. All the patients went through a two-treatment and two sequence process until they reached the end. All the participants went through treatment at the same time. Equal treatment reduced the chances of bias. However, some of the participants died before the final results of the research were recorded.

4. Were patients, health workers, and study personnel 'blind' to treatment?

The patients, health worker, and study personnel were not given a chance to know the results of the process (Moyle et al. 2014). The trained assistants were not talking to the participants who took part in the process. The assistants never made any physical contact with the participants. The assistant was ordered not to make any indication or act in a way that would influence the results of the research. No deliberate communication either through touching or conversation was allowed to take place between the participants and the assistants.

5. Were the characteristics of the group the same at the start of the trial?

The groups used in the research were not equal. The study had more women compared to men (Moyle et al. 2014). The average age was eighty-sixed, and a half but the research involved people who had different ages. The research also involved participant who has enough support and verbal agitation. But they all had a common behavior which was agitation.

6. Howe was the group treated in addition to the experimental intervention, and was there some equality?

The participants were treated equally during the massage sessions, and every foot was massaged for five minutes (Moyle et al. 2014). Massage therapists did the message to all participants. The massage therapists included gliding, light pressure massage, flexion and rhythmical strokes in their massage activities. The quiet treatment was also the same among all participants, and it took ten minutes for every participant.

(B) What are the results?

There was an increase in agitation in the quiet test and the massage session (Moyle et al. 2014). The increase was higher in the quiet presence, and it was low in massage participants. Those in quiet presence reported an increase in alertness while those participating in massage reported a reduction in alertness.

7. How large was the treatment effect?

The outcome effect was big because it measured the following: CMIA Total, CMAI physical non-aggression, CMAI physical aggression, CMAI verbal non-aggression, CMAI verbal aggression, OERS anger, OERS anxiety, OERS pleasure, OERS sadness, and OERS general alertness. All the outcomes were clearly specified in a table (Moyle et al. 2014).

8. How precise was the estimate of the treatment effect?

Estimation of the process was high because the participants and the assistants were able to maintain confidentiality and nobody influence the results by releasing some crucial information (Moyle et al. 2014). All samples were collected based on the fact that their age was in the required age group and no communication took place among the participants and the assistants as they went through the quiet presence and massage processes.

10. Were all clinically important outcomes considered?

The quality of life today at so many different levels has greatly improved due to use of scientific knowledge, this range from the mere daily activities to global activities. Application of science informs policy making and greatly play very critical role in social, political, economic, cultural, and demographic fields across the world. It is apparent that without the knowledge of science life would be difficult and almost impossible to progress, (Bickman et al, pg 65-70)

The knowledge of science is being applied today in so many areas such as in the modern medicine whereby there has been great deliverables in the field of medicine unfolding smart antibiotics and vaccines useful in treating the once deadly diseases. Today, with emergence of many new advanced drugs the world is enjoying heightened levels of health care and management with low death cases from some deadly diseases compared to the past, (Bickman et al, pg 65-70)

Science has also contributed positively in the agricultural sector, for instance application of agricultural technology has facilitated initiation of hybrid varieties of foodstuffs which contribute to balanced diet and good health. On the other hand science has enabled crossbreeding of the once low yielding crops to better yielding crops, thus ensuring high harvests to farmers. Food security has improved largely and with better effective pesticides being discovered to protect the crops while at the plantations and after harvesting. Additionally discovery of DNA has played a key role a major breakthrough in biology that has helped in discovering solutions for genetic diseases, and crops that are genetically engineered, (Bickman et al, pg 65-70)

Water security has been greatly enhanced due to adoption of favorable policies to ensure a good blend of the water resources available and against the financial budget for that sector against the population of any given country, (Osborne et al pg 1049-1079).

Science is also being applied in statistics in probability to predict behavior of two occurring activities or phenomena. For instance the discovery of the probabilistic nature, a major discovery and a conclusion was drawn about atomic scale which is being applied even today, (Osborne et al pg 1049-1079).

The application of science has so many implications and the most conspicuous one are the major drawbacks that come with the application of science in our daily activities, (Osborne et al pg 1049-1079).

For instance research and development into developing and coming up with new informed policies comes with huge budget implications which in most cases renders the research and development work impossible. O n the other hand grants given to the researchers have a short expiry period of less than 3years and this makes most researchers shy off from long-term projects which maybe could yield great deliverables helpful to the society, (Pidd, pg 46-52)

It's worth mentioning that apart from the above challenge, researchers are being faced with the challenge of low funding with small amounts of cash. This definitely pushes them to the very fast and wrong research which might not yield anything at all. One of the reason being that the governments funding are being faced by so many researchers and have the pressure to fund adequately with sufficient funds, (Pidd, pg 46-52)

One more challenge of application of science is that only a few researchers are willing to participate in the high profile risky projects while the less risky projects could be the most obvious ones not warranting research. This could lead to wastage of funds in projects which are meaningless, (Pidd, pg 46-52)

Part of the major political implication application of science has is on the stem cell as well as on the embryo research whereby both politicians and interested religious groups are in constant debate over GMOS on the safety and ethics, (Kandel, pg 912-914).

Another major ethical and legal implication of of this factor is that it lacks the legitimacy in the sense that this perspective doesn't offer a new view on genetic engineering, (Kandel, pg 912-914).

Economically the emergency of new anonymous currency the so called Bit coin has led issues such as hacking of the currency, valuation of the currency against other currencies as well as promotion of illegal business transactions which can't be identified easily. This is among the negative implications of the application of science, (Baeza et al, pg 199-208)

The use of robots in the enforcement of automated law implies that these robots may not exercise the right judgment required if it were a rational human being probably they would exercise better decisions unbiased as opposed to the robots which in most cases are set to think or act in just one way or direction, (Baeza et al, pg 199-208)

The idea of making computers that have the same knowledge as human beings is a big concern since in the long run this may lead to constant permanent replacement of human beings and this may render human beings good for nothing in their roles. The biggest question being that will this interface be affected perfectly and whether or not can the machines perfectly replace human beings to perform like human beings, (Baeza et al, pg 199-208)

The use of and application of science has led to assumption of social bonds and neglect ion of social responsibility with emergence of sexbots replacing girlfriends and wives for sexual satisfaction. This displays moral decay and erosion of culture and norms, (Baeza et al, pg 199-208)

Pattern Recognition in Diagnosis

The diagnostic process is an intricate process that commences with a patient's ailment history that later on culminates into something that can be classified. It is imperative for a clinician to carefully assess the prognosis and offer effective treatment to the patient. The patient's symptoms will be presented by their own experiences, and their accuracy in spelling out their symptoms will help determine the nature of their prognosis. According to Sackett, there are four main strategies that can be used in the diagnostic procedure. They include pattern recognition, hypothetico-deductive strategy, algorithm strategy and the complete history. (Sackett, 1991). Pattern recognition refers to the instant identification of illness from the patient's explanation, while the hypothetical strategy requires the clinician to conduct a test and deduct an inference from the test.

A patient's detailed account of their experiences is what will determine the treatment they ought to be offered. A point in case is a patient that recently visited the hospital and complained of the following signs and symptoms, severe headaches, fever, diarrhea, pain in the whole body; especially abdominal pains and a lack of appetite. The patient's sign and symptoms revealed that she was suffering from Typhoid. The patient also disclosed that she had consumed contaminated milk the previous week, and had only slight stomach aches. She bought several painkillers, and the pain disappeared only to reappear a week later and raise discomfort to her body. She felt very weak and was not enthusiastic about doing anything. The illness persevered until she finally came to the hospital to seek medication. She was given several drugs that would reduce the pain and bring back her appetite as she was shading a lot of weight from the lack of food. It was only after two days that the patient came back to the hospital sweating profusely and not stable to do anything. She was quickly rushed to the examination room where several tests were carried out once again.

The patient was suffering from acute Malaria. Acute Malaria is a rare type of Malaria that rarely affects people, although a small percentage can easily contract it. The Malaria symptoms had incubated itself in her body for 10days since the time she was bitten. The patient was then offered all the anti-malaria drugs that have helped regain her appetite and reduced the pain she felt. This case was a peculiar one because the symptoms described by the patient were similar to the ones of Typhoid. The patient had also stated that she had taken contaminated milk, which was an obvious observation that she suffered from Typhoid. The results showed that diseases have very similar signs and symptoms that can lead to a misdiagnosis. Conducting tests keenly and attentively can result in the right outcome of a disease.

The clinician works with what has been presented to them by the patient, and the accumulation of signs and symptoms fostering the development of the illness is the plot of the disease. (Hunter,1991). The medical practitioner works with the patient's narrative, which is the plot or the diagnosis. (Hunter,1991). In the study case above, the patient had described themselves in a way that the signs pointed out to Typhoid by indicating that they had drank contaminated milk. This misled the clinician into the path of Typhoid, signing out Malaria, and thus conducting tests on Typhoid only to, later on, discover the illness. The patient's history is a necessary tool for diagnosing patients, and it requires vast clinical knowledge and experience. (Macnaughton, 1998).

The process of diagnosing starts with the doctor working with the information obtained from the patient, and establishing the pattern of their signs. They then make their deductions that they use in treating the patient.

Developmental Theory: Piaget and Bowlby

The human development issue has been of a relevant nature within the human society. There are different developmental theories that have been researched and published by some of the world's most renowned psychologists. This among them involves the theory of Bowlby on attachment that lays emphasis on the vitality of a trusting and secure mother-infant bond on well-being and development. The theory on psychosocial by Erikson who believed that childhood played a crucial part in the development of personality will also be featured. This paper is going to look into these theories and determine how they relate to each other not forgetting to also point out the differences that are in existence between the two (Child Development, 2017).

Zastrow (2016) describes human development as the continuous process of growth and change, involving physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics that occur over a lifespan. It involves characteristics that occur in a lifespan in a physical, mental, emotional, and social (p.77). This human growth tends to follow a sequential pattern. However, there are individual differences caused by inheritance and the surrounding. One of the human development stages is the preschool stage; it is the stage right before a child goes to formal school. It is a very important stage because his personality is being shaped with the help of those around them. In addition, they become more independent and interact with others.

The psychosocial theory by Erikson was established from Sigmund`s psychosexual theory and his widespread practical field research. It lays emphasis on the change and growth of the individual. He managed to include social and cultural bits into Freud`s sexually and biological oriented theory and concentrated on the manner in which the ecology and experience shaped personality and behavior. A human development lifespan subdivided into eight stages was first developed by Erikson. There is an element of crisis that is associated with each one of the stages that have two opposing emotional forces which are to be solved by the individual in order to successfully progress to the stage that comes next. A basic quality is formed when there is a good balance of the two forces while a penchant on the side of one of the contrasting forces brings about malignancy or maladaptation. There is a link between the stages of transition. It is not an accomplishment scale where the phases of crisis can be resolved eternally. There is a possibility of a previous crisis to reoccur in a positive or negative manner (Thomas, 2014).

The driving force of the stages is sexual and physical growth, which stimulates the issues in life that form the crises. Age is not a precise driving factor thus the age range is just but a rough guide, more so during the advanced stages when there is a variation in influences and timing. There is a variation of interpretation in terms of age between academics and writers. The lack of an interpretation of fixed stages of age by Erikson was deliberate as no given person can be able to do it. Bowlby`s theory of attachment was derived from the theory of objects relations and lays emphasis on the creation, furtherance, and caregiver-child relationships growth, alongside sways over emotional and social life. Eventually, the attachment theory by Bowlby was prolonged beyond early childhood and infancy into adulthood and adolescence by Shaver and Hazan (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2016).

Erikson`s theory first stage matches the theory of infant attachment by Bowlby, where the caregiver's experience with the baby is vital. Bowlby states that there is a development of models of the world and of self through interaction with the figure of attachment by the baby. A negative model results in a lesser satisfactory attachment while positive model results in a secure attachment. Sensorimotor behaviors such as crying are made use of by the infant to make aware of and seek closeness to the figure of attachment. A sense of physical security and stress reduction in a situation that is stressful in nature is attained through the use of this attachment behavioral system. A secure attachment is developed by caregivers who are available, responsive, sensitive and warm. A feeling of worthiness is created when there is a sense of trust. The infant is able to see the world as an inviting and safe place when there is a continuous success in leaving and safe returning to a base of security. This results in a gain of confidence to independently move around. There should be good feeding and care for the infant, but caution should be taken not to overindulge or over protect as this results into a wrong sense of trust encouraging gullibility. Thus from this attachment can be regarded to as the basis for identity (Child Development, 2017).

Bowlby claimed that attachment is a basic need for an emotional bond with each other that goes beyond the need to be fed. He was of the opinion that this is an evolving need in which a strong bond of emotion between the infant and the mother raises the chances of survival of the infant. He grouped the attachment according to stages and came up with four stages of attachment. Pre-attachment (6 Weeks to between 6 and 8 months) is the first stage where infants carry themselves in a manner that attracts the attention of adults. They become soothed when in the presence of the mother and other people. Attachment in making (6 weeks to about 6 to 8months) is the second phase A sense of trust is build towards the mother by the infants, such that they can rely on them when they are in need. Clear Cut attachment (6 to 8 months- 1 and a half years to 2 years) comes in third place. This is where the attachment is recognized. This is shown through the infant`s preference of the mother over everybody else. Anxiety separation kicks in when the mother leaves. Creation of reciprocal relationship (18 months up to years) comes last. Development of language results in the reduction of anxiety. An understanding of the departure and return periods of the mother is developed by the infant (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2016).

On the other hand, Erikson refers to his first stage of development as the mistrust vs. trust stage. Where the infant is still just as in the case of Bowlby's theory still highly reliant on the consistency of the caregiver for survival obtaining a feeling of safety, trust, and comfort. Shame vs. Autonomy comes in second. The kid attains a superior sense of control by training towards gaining feelings of independence and control. Initiative vs. guilt stage then sets in where the kids begin to proclaim their control and authority in the areas in which they have influence through social interactions and play. The stage that comes in the fourth place is inferiority vs. industry in which the main area of interest by the child is gaining fresh skills, resulting in the sense of self-gratification. The last stage in this theory is the role confusion vs. identity stage. Children in this stage are in the process of getting to find out their own identity, and a successful completion of this process results in the sense of control and independence by the child (Thomas, 2014).

Erikson believed that the success of a succeeding stage was highly dependent on how successful the previous stage was while Bowlby laid emphasis on the security of the bond between the mother and the infant in the success of the stages. The two theorists applied different principles but just seem to have found common ground in their arguments as they complement each other well. A lot of similarities between the two theories in the stages are evident in the paper. The theories provide much-needed quality information on the development of a child that can be useful to many both at the moment and in the future. They complement each other and cover each other's deficiencies while also boosting each other and the two researchers contributed so much to getting to understand the developmental framework of a child.

The Use of Lightning, Music, and Mini-scenes in Williams Play “A Streetcar Named Desire”

The author of the play uses a different style which makes him achieve his objectives of dealing with those targeted by the play including music, lightning as well as mini-scenes. The used light in the play is important for the description of the characters and the themes. Contrasts dim light and harsh light to underscore the theme of truth versus illusion. Dim light symbolizes Blanche's world of illusion because it helps to disguise the truth about herself. For example, she asks? Mitch to place a paper lantern over a bulb to dim the glaring light in order to hide her true age from him. Later Mitch mentions to Blanche that she refuses to be seen in the harsh glare of the sun. He finds this suspicious because I've never had a real good look at you (126). Blanche fears if Mitch knows her real age or the facts of her life in Laurel, he won't marry her.

In dissimilarity harsh light represents the naked truth, especially as seen by Stanley and Mitch. When Mitch wants to find out Blanche's age, he removes the paper lantern, exposing Blanche to the harsh light of a naked light bulb. Blanche finds this action insulting, but Mitch sees it as truthful. Blanche believes a woman should be allowed some deceit to protect her vanity. A gentleman should understand this need. However, for Mitch and Stanley, the main goal is to expose the facts without any shadings. To show this Williams has the Kowalski apartment lit with glaring light. In fact, soon after Blanche arrives at the apartment, she tells Stella to switch off the upstairs light due to the reasons. "I would not be looked at in this merciless glare"(8) Blanche also has many unpleasant truths about herself she would prefer not to see.

Apart from the use of lightning, Williams utilizes music, like blue piano, the song "It's Only a Paper Moon" and the Varsouviana polka, to represent his characters' inner lives, set the mood, and further define the themes of the play. The term blue piano suggests the blues, mournful music often written in response to life's hardships and tragedies. The music of the blue piano, which opens and closes the play, is often heard during particularly sad or tragic moments. For example, the blue piano grows louder as Blanche admits to Stella that Belle Reeve is lost, and again as Blanche flirts desperately with a young man. Later in the play, the blue piano's music grows louder until it turns into the "roar" of a train as Stanley prepares to rape Blanche. In addition to this another song "It's Only a Paper Moon" appears only once in the play, when Blanche sings it while taking a bath in Scene 7, while Stanley reveals Blanche's sexual exploits to Stella. Its lyrics focus on one of Blanche's struggles to deal with truth versus illusion: "But it wouldn't be make-believe if you believe in me!"(107). the song "It's Only a Paper Moon" reveals Blanche's reliance on illusion to help her find true love. She believes that manipulative flirtation and hiding the truth about her sexual escapades is the only way to secure romantic love.

The use of songs continues with Varsouviana polka which signifies the combination different things such as desire, destruction, and death that haunts Blanche, and which began with her husband's suicide. The author cues this polka when Blanche describes the death of her husband, at the time Stanley gives Blanche a go back ticket to Laurel, where her life has fallen apart after she is caught having sex with one of her teenage students, and when the Doctor and Matron arrive to take Blanche away in Scene eleven.

The division of the play into eleven acts in the paper enables the author write what he intended in short acts hence displaying his talents. This is not a typical structure use by different plays but the author chose it to present their ideas in a unique manner. Each of the eleven scenes ends with a dramatic expression or gestures. The scenes are linked well through the play with no rest between the readers. The author's choice of the use enables him to develop the themes and the characters as well.

Glory Review

The American Film, Glory of 1989, is based on the actual historical story, of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, seen through the eyes of the commanding officer Gould Shaw who was a white officer during the American Civil War. The story is told by Kevin Jarre the author of Glory who was walking in Boston and came across a Civil war memorial, and this became the inspiration forGlory. The war was characterized by both white and black soldiers. The officers were the white while the African Americans were the soldiers. The central theme as I observed in the film is racism and discrimination and biases attitude from the whites towards their fellow black soldiers. Amongst these officers, Colonel Shaw was unlike his fellows who were racist and devoted most of the time training the African-Americans how to fight restlessly in the civil war. The blacks were more than determined to fight for their country and more so against injustices. The whites doubted or didn't believe in the blacks making good soldiers or submitting to the discipline of the war, but the likes of Fredrick Douglas believed in the chance of winning for the black regiment. The Glory therefore openly exposed different and multiple aspects of civil war as it occurred. It displayed the cruel realities that the soldiers went through during the war. The film also revealed how man to man fights was brutal and barbaric as practiced during the civil war. For instance, the 54th exposed one of the bloodiest action in the war which was an uphill attack in a muddy terrain running against a Confederate fort in Charleston. This attack was somewhat suicidal having the battlefield strategies involving the black troops being disciplined by matching into the contemptuous fire. The 54th soldier remained strong enough as well as disciplined till the end of civil war. In my opinion, the purpose of Glory was to expose the victory and courage of the soldiers in the war who fought against racism, prejudice and discrimination and later achieved their goals. Although the back regiment was unskilled, they gave their best to provide the Norths with a victory on proving to be real heroes.

Watching "Glory", I am convinced that the director Edward Zwick, brings outs a lot of lessons that we can draw from the movie. It gives a clear historical description of the experience of the soldiers in the war. Racism had been a real challenge that the blacks faced, and he brings out this aspect in the film. For instance, there was a decision that was made to pay the blacks less than the whites. They were not believed to be good enough to fight in the civil war, and more so the civil war was against slavery in the south where the blacks had been enslaved. Therefore the black soldiers through the help of Shaw, they gave the best, they fought, bleed and died as they fought against these forms of discrimination. It is also clear that as much as racism was intense a few like Shaw were ready to the unit with the blacks to end slavery which I believe is one its strength. Glory therefore brings out a clear experience of the civil war. It displays the courage the soldiers had to win the fights despite dealing with prejudice from their fellow white soldiers. The zeal Gould had as a commander to help the black soldiers gets to question why they were much different in the relationship between the soldiers and the difference in how the slaves were treated. Was the slavery and racism attitude intense only in the southern region? Ironically, the northern abolitionists were antislavery, but the film does not consider the blacks as equal to the whites through the way they were treated in the film which I believe is a weakness. In my opinion, the movie unfolds the true historical experiences during slavery because the southern economy was highly based on cotton and the political leaders were therefore against antislavery as they needed cheap labor that could only be provided by the blacks. They, thus, had to fight their way through this prejudices as shown by the 54th regiment. They had been considered inferior. The film as it was experienced by the blacks projected the fact that the blacks had to be paid less and also did not deserve to be trained in the war. Though Shaw was biased towards the blacks, with time he relied on the blacks were no different from them and offered them full support to get admiration and glory.

Watching Glory, I am left with the mixed feeling, why because the story is primarily about the blacks, but their top leader or officer is a white. We had to see the blacks through the 54th white commanding officer and not the other way. Well, I believe the reason to these could be because the whites were considered the superior race against the blacks or could the blacks be in a land that is not theirs? Were their zeal self-determined or the commander instilled the enthusiasm in them? In my opinion, it bothered me that being a film centering their focus on the black regime then, the blacks should have been the leading actor and more so as a commander. Again, I wonder could that be possible if the blacks did not know how to fight and needed training. This makes me conclude that the purpose of the 54th was to indicate and show the public that slavery and civil war was a black's journey to fight. Sadly, the fact is, the blacks only saw themselves in the eyes of the white, and since the blacks were the ones just suffering under the white regime, then the perception of the whites towards the black is what had to change, for slavery, racism and other forms of prejudice to change. Having the director giving the movie in a more focus of the blacks but seeing it through the eyes of the white, I think he could have given us a different view like white seeing the blacks through their(black) eyes and this also proved to be a weakness.

Compared to other war films, Glory brings out the other aspects apart from war and training like comradeship and togetherness, courage and the zeal to achieve goals without giving up. It is one of the best films that shows a true history of the civil war as given in the books. It instils a change in the minds of the public on their views towards the black as equal members of the society. "Glory" therefore is one of the strongest movies and a valuable movie in giving a clear description and understanding the experiences of the civil war.

Approaches of Curbing Bullying

Forgives is also an approach which can be used to effectively reduce bullying in school (Ahmed & Braithwaite, 2006). It is known to be the most powerful weapon that is used by the affected parties to bring to an end the cycle behavior of being destructive. Forgiveness is only possible if the victim decides not to hold any grudge against the offender. He decides to let go every hatred and trusts that the wrong door will accept the chance and assume a responsible life. The victim expects that with forgiveness and acceptance bullying should come to an end. The effectiveness of this approach is that the wrongdoer feels acceptance back to the community. He is also aware that the victim will take him as a changed- for “the- better person from there on. This is achieved after the offender accepts his mistakes and changes to be able to manage the shame. On the other hand, wrongdoer who is unable to manage the shame blames others for the mistakes done. He suffers shame replacement which increases bullying (Rigby, 2004).

The other method that is used to minimize bullying is through the community-based approaches (Dusenbury et al, 1997). The community incorporates all the stakeholders including the teachers, coaches, parents, the law and the students at large. The community has to address the issue of bullying otherwise silence paves way for increased bullying among students. Adult role models who are against bullying are examples that students emulate. Organizing events like games and sports in playgrounds and have the coach supervise teaches students to care and love their neighbor. Group work is also another way that teachers use as a way of minimizing bullying in class. The community is also free to use the law and warn the students against any act of bullying. The challenge faced here is that very little effort has been channeled to curb this issue of bullying (Hay & Meldrum, 2010). The community has not taken the problem of bullying with the weight that it deserves.

Application of Balnin Team Inventory in Group Working

As a class, we were supposed to form different groups. In which we had to apply our computer knowledge on how to solve real-time problems in an organization using various programs. The teams and the groups that were to experiment were formed before the experiments were started; we were to meet at the computer laboratory where they were to conduct their tests. The whole group comprised of 24 individuals and was supposed to be divided into seven teams, with each requiring only one computer for their experiment. One machine was to be used by the examiner whose role was to test and accept solution offered (Belbin 2012). Each group was issued with the problems to solve. We were needed to solve the problems with a maximum of one hour through some team ended up requiring an addition of one hour. To make everything balanced among the team, we were supposed to work at only one station. Each team was supposed to create a database were all customers information was. We had to make sure that offering customer services were made easy, fast and user-friendly.

After the experiment, we were to email the results to the examiner that was only if a group was satisfied with what they had done. The examiner then looked at the results with his or her correct data that was not to be revealed to the partakers. Once the completed solution was correctly tested with the accepted information, the end time for every team was documented (Meslec and Cur??eu 2012). Despite the problem statements having some test information, we were required to create test data for their answer to pass all the approval tests. The test was done in four different lab periods, in each session; the teams were to conduct the four sessions at four different times. The means of all meetings were then evaluated and compared.

Every team was made up of three participants with different working roles under the observation of the Belbin Self-perception Inventory. Every group was to belong to a team that was applied in the examination of the hypothesis in the problem. Each team had a leadership team and a non-leader team about what was expected in the experiment.

To ensure that the role that was being investigated was the cause why the groups worked in a specific manner, the other parts were made to be the same across all teams, and the group members experiences that were self-related were used as blocking factors. To determine the potential position of each member, some elements had to be kept into consideration (Senaratne and Gunawardane 2015). Each person had to fill multiple roles by having essential scores for different positions, that is, two or three roles. Another factor was that if a person had skills or personality that made him or she fills a specific role, that person was not allowed to take that position because he or she would fill other roles correctly. In some cases, other members of the group would have prevented a person from filling a particular role if another person would take that role stronger. Some of the underlying assumptions of the research were that some characters would not align with a specific team, since some teams would be better without that role in the team. This was found to be working with some tasks such as Shaper, where conflict was expected.

The Belbin model roles

A chairperson is described as a person has the authority over a team. The chairperson guides the team towards the team's objectives in the best way. A chairperson is expecting to be calm, collaborative and having natural ability enhance the workers' ability. He or she should also know the strengths and capacity of the whole team. The second role demonstrated in the Belbin roles is the sharper. A Sharper can be described as a slave driver, and he or she is expected to find the best models for solving the problems. He has the role of leading the team in making the members to challenge any ineffectiveness, inertia and complacency (Meslec and Cureu 2012). If a team indicates the possibility of having a chairperson and a Shaper, they are either supposed to cooperate in the readership role or the team will experience conflict due to leadership conflict.

Plant is the third role that acts as the reformer of the team. He or she is expected to initiate better ideas and approaches while also creating distinct attention to primary matters. A Plant is scheduled to be introverted, intelligent and imaginative but also expected not to take practical protocols or details. The Plant is treated as the brainchild of the team and has to be occasionally improved occasionally since they at sometimes tend to stay dormant (McHarg and Coombes 2012). Monitor-Evaluator analyzes the team for any approaches, decisions and methods to make sure that the team is strategized in the best competitive manner. The Monitor-Evaluator evaluates the ideas implemented by the Plant and is the only body that can brainstorm with the Plant to make the required approaches.

The other duty is the Resource Investigator that is taken as among of those who takes the negotiation roles. He takes a similar role as that of the Plant although he or she is not viewed as an equal. They are both considered as creative members of the team (Senaratne and Gunawardane 2015). The only difference is that the Resource Investigator gets their ideas from external sources due to their extroverted nature. They have a high ability for socializing with individuals and venturing into new things. They, however, have the tendency to lose interest when the problems become too complicated.

The team worker takes the complementary role. He ensures that there is collaborative working among the team members towards achieving its goals. The other role discussed by Belbin Company Worker who has the purpose of converting the company plans and concepts into operating procedures. They tend to have the personality of being predictable, hard-working, dutiful and self-disciplined. They are however resistant to ideas that have not been proven and inflexible. The Completer-finisher is the last role in the Belnin model. He or she complements the work done by the Company Worker when relating to the role of manager and workers. They focus on delivering of projects I the light cost estimate and on time (Senaratne and Gunawardane 2015). The team worker takes the role of avoiding the mistakes of both commission and commission, while actively focusing on work aspects that need more aspects. They make sure that the team kept on toes for them to meet the set goals and attention of the company.

Does Poverty Serve as a Root Cause of Terrorism?

Poverty can be described as the state of inadequacy or scarcity of certain amount of material procession and financial resources, (Cocciaet al., 58-165). It is a multisided concept that also includes lack of the socioeconomic, political and emotional elements. There are several types of poverty in the society today, and they tend to affect the way of living for those people afflicted. People affected by poverty in the society today range from temporary situations that are seasonal to abject poverty associated with homeless people and street families.

According to the World Bank (Global Monitoring Report), approximately over seven hundred million people lived in poverty, (Sawalhaet al., 183-202). About half of this population lived in sub-Saharan Africa.Itis estimated that half of the world children live in poverty. Some of the liberal approaches from global financial institutions have been blamed for the worsening of both poverty and inequality especially in developing economies.

In many instances, people living in poverty work hard to improve their financial situations and living conditions. Most people resort to indulge in income generating activities to improve their situations, however some resort to get-rich-quick schemes to escape the pangs of poverty. In most cases, the get-rich-quick schemes are not as lucrative as they seem and participants end up being conned by scammers, (Cocciaet al., 58-165). The purpose of this essay, therefore, is to analyze the role of poverty as a cause of terrorism in the world, its effects and some of the remedies that can be put in place to curb the rise of terrorism as a result of poverty.

Some of the major causes of poverty in the world today include poor infrastructure, corruption, and embezzlement of public funds by individuals in power, poor leadership structures especially in sub-Saharan Africa, unemployment, illnesses and lack of skills and training. These factors force people to live in conditions that they would have otherwise avoided had the circumstances changed in support their positive ambitions. As a result, brilliant young people faced with lack of opportunity and income sources resort to join terror groups not because they support the cause but so that their lives can improve.

Terrorism, on the other hand, can be described as the unlawful perpetration of violence and bullying carried out by sections of people mostly armed militia against innocent civilians, (Sawalhaet al., 183-202). The main aims of terror groups are to orchestrate violent attacks, abduction of civilians and looting/ destruction of property to fulfill political, religious and or ideological goals, (Cocciaet al., 58-165). Poverty has over the years been linked as one of the causes of terrorism in the world today. In most cases, the allure to join terror groups is juiced up by the promise of monetary gains and better living conditions for those who participate.

Terrorism has some of the most adverse effects on society in the world today; it is also one of the greatest contributors to the global poverty levels in the world today. Loss of lives is one of the major effects of terrorism. Considering data from terror attacks in the United States alone, hundreds of families are left without their loved ones as a result of terror attacks. Some of this lives lost happen to be the breadwinners of the families, and this reduces the remaining dependents to abject poverty.

In light of all this, the following are some of the major contributions of poverty as a cause of terrorism in the world today.

Supply of labor is one of the major boosters towards terrorism contributed by poverty, (Sawalhaet al., 183-202). Due to the lack of economic activities to indulge in, the otherwise idle youth rendered so by poverty act as the major labor inputs recruited by the terror cells and organizations. The youth from poor backgrounds are easy targets for recruitment. The growth of terrorism is anchored on the idea of deprivation of the majority to create a sense of better life in participating in terrorism.

The promise of remuneration. People living in poverty are always in the constant search and need for finances to better their living standards. As a result, well-funded terror organizations take advantage of the poverty situations to offer monetary rewards to participants from poor backgrounds. In most cases, these people are not able to rescind these offers since they have no better alternatives to do. Consequently, the financial situations of the members and their families are changed for the better while the terror groups also gain more members to join them, (Cocciaet al., 58-165).

Poverty in some regions is caused not by mere natural factors but is driven by artificial political ambitions of the ruling class in that society. As a result of poverty engineered by political interests, people are forced into involuntary poverty situations. The side effect of this type of poverty is the growth of resentment among the oppressed and consequent formation of terrorist organizations to fight the political bigwigs and avenger the poor situations that they have been forcedinto. Several terrorist groups all around the world have been formed as a result of political induced poverty to sections of the population.

Another major contribution of poverty towards the growth of terrorism is seen through the practice of harboring terrorists in poor residential areas. Refugee camps are some of the most notorious sites where terrorists can hide, recruit and plan terror attacks on a country. For example, the Dadaab refugee camp where Al-Shabaab terrorists were housed in the refugee tents and were able to plan and orchestrate an attack on a shopping mall in Kenya. People living in poverty are in most cases forced to hide and protect terrorists becausepoor residential eras are most often neglected by security forces, (Sawalhaet al., 183-202). Overpopulation and poor informal settlements also make it easier for terrorists to hide in plain sight. The promise of remuneration by the terrorist and neglect by government forces combined with resentment by poor residents provides a great avenue for terrorism activities to thrive.

Another major contribution of poverty towards terrorism can be seen through unemployment,(Cocciaet al., 58-165) the major cause of poverty in the world today is the lack of income-generating opportunities for the able population. As a result, most unemployed people especially the youth treat the opportunity to join terror groups as an employment opportunity and a potential source of income to improve their living conditions. A study carried out in the Palestinian population shows that there is a symbiotic relationship between poverty and terrorism in the sense that terror led to poverty situations but at the same time provided an avenue to alleviate the situation through offering financial support to the families of members that joined them.

As much as poverty serves as one of the causes of terrorism in the world today, several remedies to help curb the growth of terrorism as a result of poverty are available, (Sawalhaet al., 183-202). The first step towards remedying the situation is the investment in education sector. Most families in the poor sections of the world are not able to access funds to pay for tuition fees. However, through government intervention and subsidizing of educational cost, children from poor backgrounds will be able to access education. As a result, more attention will be given to education as an avenue towards getting out of poverty as opposed to terrorism. Access to education will also be able to enlighten people to learn the effects of terrorism on the society at large.

Equal distribution of resources is another remedy that can be applied to reduce poverty levels, promote a sense of belonging and reduce the contribution of poverty towards the growth of terrorism. Public resources when fairly distributed result in the creation of opportunities for the people living in poverty. A chance to access basic amenities will change the perspective of the poor towards leadership and will motivate them towards the building the nation.

In conclusion, therefore, poverty is one of the major contributors toward the growth and spread of terrorism in the world today. However, several remedies can be put in place to reduce the contribution of poverty towards terrorism. The people living in poverty are also human and can have their ideologies changed to a more positive approach, (Cocciaet al., 58-165). Therefore, the governments of the world should put in more efforts towards motivating the poor through education subsidies, employment opportunities and provision of aid to hard-hit areas.

Horrific Halloween Festival

On the eve of Christmas people are usually excited and overjoyed by the events taking place around them. Some find Halloween costume parties to be more exciting compared to prank playing while others enjoy watching horror movies. Alex and Jane are no exception to any of these. It is during their holiday and therefore maximizing every chance they have is a priority for them. On Sunday afternoon after attending a church service, they decided to have a stroll around the forest where they would join their friends in pumpkin carving as an activity for the Halloween. They had not walked deep into the forest with until they heard this sudden voice. This was a new voice for Jane; she had not experienced such before. At this time, Alex noticed what was being chanted by the voice. To his shock, the sound was sobbing in notably horrible and pathetic way accompanied by suffering and intense pain.

Alex could not quench his curiosity towards the voice's tone. It was a different one as well as emerged from all over the place at the same time. Immediately when he thought that was the end of it, the voice transformed from this terrifying cry of mad and irrational laughter. It got worse and outrageous. Suddenly, it changed back to the first sob, laughter then moaning once more before fading away.

Jane and Alex looked at each other filled with amusement and disbelief. This must be somebody playing Halloween trick on us, Alex said.

Sure, replied Jane hesitatingly.

It will be wise if we go around searching what is happening, Alex suggested.

They both came into agreement and got deeper into the forest paying keen attention to anything they suspected could be the source of all that confusion. They went to a place where the pathways divided into two different directions, and each decided to branch into one. Alex did not walk for long before arriving at where their friends played pumpkin tricks. It was full of fun, but before he joined them, they heard a loud scream from Jane from the other side of the forest. They run towards the direction only to meet with her having a white face. She claimed to have met with a skull sitting on top of a grave that produced the horrible voice.

Before they decided what to do, the voice came again but this time in their midst. They got covered with white smoke that smelled like blood. That was not enough; the voice was now calling them each by name. Nothing could have been more horrific than this scene. Tension had taken the better part of them. They could not move, they remained still with their eyes wide open. Their Halloween activity had turned against their wish. They were now regretting coming this deep into the forest. Jane managed to escape from the group. She runs out of the woods screaming to the loudest in her voice. As the other members of her team tried to follow her, they were intertwined by a rope from nowhere on their legs. They rolled down the valley to the river. The voice laughed continuously instilling fear in each of them.

Jane was almost getting home. She narrated the whole story to her parents. Her mother fled to Alex parent's home to inform them about what she was told. She did not manage to get there, she fainted on the way, and she was rushed to hospital by good wishers. The Halloween festival had turned horrific

This research paper will discover the mental illness, incarceration and the nature of the prisons in the United States. Mentally ill people are so many in the prisons and their numbers increases substantially. Currently, mentally ill people are crowded behind bars compared to in the mental hospitals. When criminals go to prison, they are usually mentally fit, but when their incarceration periods end, they develop the illness (Schizophrenic). This is due to the difficulty in adapting to the correctional system and the confinement. Schizophrenia causes the in ability to process thoughts and even emotion and makes the victim to act in a manner that is not appropriate. Those imprisoned when mentally ill, their conditions of living inside the prison worsens their situations. This is an important topic to research on because it will find out how the people who are mentally ill are over presented to the system of justice. I should therefore be allowed to pursue this research to understand the psychological effects of the solitary confinement and the crisis caused by high incarceration rates as well as the long prison sentences.

In order to understand the effect of crime and mental illness, it is crucial to first now the nature of the lives in the prison. The rooms are small with improper hygiene. Staff is very minimal and of limited time. Also, with the other criminals, conversations are limited. Therefore, more time is spent in isolation. This isolation affects the mental illness and makes the offender dangerous. As mentioned earlier in the text, Torrey, et al, (2010), stated that, many mentally ill individuals are in prison than in the mental hospitals. Some of them obtain the illness from there. There may be an association between a criminal behavior and an illness, and this gives a better explanation on the reason why individuals indulge in criminal activities while others do not. Alternatively, the people suffering from a serious mental illness are overly presented and funneled disproportionally through the channels of the justice system of the criminals and end up in prison (Hartney, 2006).

This research topic is important as it gives enlightenment on the impact of the prison arts workshop. Despite certain costs, some things should be offered in the prisons. The offenders who are mentally ill need special housing (Sigurdson, 2000). The purpose of the prisons is to punish unlike the treatment of the mental health facilities. However, in spite this; some correctional systems are trying this even without the required funding. Sigurdson (2000) further stated that, there are medical boards that give restricted licenses to people to cater for people in the correction units. Formerly, those phycians who are impaired and considered not fit for working in the communities were issued with licenses so as to work in prisons. This really devalues the treatment of the mentally ill in the prisons.

I worked with various sources such as paying visits to the prison departments and interviewing the prion wardens and the management in the prison as well. The importance of this proposal is to bring out the idea that many issues arise from the mental illness. This arises especially when they are brought for justice when a crime is committed. So many questions arise about the incarceration of a mentally ill person. The type of punishment to give such a person is also often confusing. I believe that there are certain laws that are put to place for specifically the mentally ill. However, I noticed that there are some people who are convicted and released through the justice system loop holes yet they lack a mental illness. This is because, some offenders claim to have the illness so as to seek forgiveness and evade being locked in the prisons (Brickman, et al, 2011).

Personally, I have studied the scenarios explained above in the paper. So many criminals have been locked up and isolated just because of their social behavior. Most of them usually possess some kind of mental illness. In the intensive Management Status, (is a program used to identify the mentally ill people) those that fail to show signs of being mentally ill in it; they develop them prior to their release. Isolation is the best option for making sure that the people capable of causing harm to others do not (Becker, 1977). But is has been exaggerated to generate something that is even worse. The offenders who are mentally ill need to be given the care that will enhance their normal functioning so as to fit in the same environment with the other offenders. Prisons are already negative, even without the additional negativity that is impacted on the criminal by isolating them and incarcerating them at high rates. The viability of this research is to ensure that the prisons and the high incarceration rates are not implemented on the mentally ill, but for the punishment purposes (Boyer, 2000).

“The Crucible” by Arthur Miller

The Crucible talks about witchcraft trials that occurred in Salem, Massachusetts around 1692. The play discusses a story about three girls named Betty and Abigail who were seen by Reverend Parris dancing in the woods with Tituba. Later, Betty became sick and unconscious. The news about witchcraft spreads, and many people gathered in Parris's home where Reverend Hale; an expert in witchcraft, is invited to determine whether the illnesses in Salem was caused by witchcraft. He realizes that the girls were dancing with Tituba who can conjure spirits. Tituba and the girls confesses to being involved in witchcraft. Abigail stated that she had given herself to the devil. Elizabeth who is married to Proctor is also accused of witchcraft. Proctor, Rebecca Nurse, and Elizabeth are put into Prison due to witchcraft allegations. Hale's effort to convince the prisoners to confess fails.

Reputation is one of the major themes in the play. Reputation refers to one's image in the eyes of other people; it is the public opinion regarding a person. Having a good reputation in The Crucible is an important aspect. There are several cases of people protecting their reputation. Proctor is an example of a character who regard his reputation as important. For instance, when the girls accused him of evil, and he was arrested, Reverend Hale pleads with him to confess to avoid being hanged. He makes the confession and signs the affidavit, but he refuses to give it to the court. Instead, he tears it. This is because he cannot bear it, confessing that he is a witchcraft which would ruin his reputation. Proctor cried out,Because it is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life! Because I lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without my name? I have given my soul; leave me my name! This implies that he was protecting his reputation.

The Crucible play contains several themes, but reputation is the main one. We should strive to create a good reputation and never lie to protect ourselves. Despite the fact that Proctor was a good man, he committed adultery. Therefore, he should have confessed to avoid all the drama surrounding his family. Therefore, our actions determine our reputation.

At times, students have ended up giving up their dreams due to disruptions caused by lack of adequate finance. In addition, the respective students after studying for many years end up in the streets due to lack of employment. As a result, they end up indulging in unethical behaviors despite being educated. Virgin money is one of the organizations which offer financial services to South Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom (French et al, 2013 p.34). Initially the organizations services were offered in the United States only. However, it is important to note that the services offered vary in the different branches since they are independent from each other.

Since one of the company's mission is to offer support to the society, different strategies have been formulated to assist learning in different institutions. The financial institution is expecting to design ways in which it will be able to assist the society in general apart from the profit motive. In order to achieve the aforementioned objective, the institution is in the process of designing the product roadmap which is to be followed to establish the minimal viable product (MVP. The platform to be formulated is expected to address the respective challenges within the university. Some of the major issues to be addressed by the minimal viable product include development of programmes which will be able to empower students in order to achieve their dreams in life. On the other hand, the financial institution has its own objectives which it aims to attain. This paper mainly focuses on the different strategies to be followed to strike a balance between the objectives of the institution and the university.

In order to ensure that the program is a success, various procedures must be followed in a move to boost confidence from students, academics and staff. The success of a minimal product depends on the strategies to be followed (Mc Kee & Eraut, 2012 p.10). In order to ensure that the respective parties are attracted by the programme, the institution should strategize on reward based programmes. Such programmes may include challenge mentor programmes. These respective mentor programmes should be carried out in 3 sessions. During these three sessions, 3 winners should be selected after which rewards should be made to them. Use of reward system is expected to improve the morale of all parties.

Moreover, before the product is implemented, relevant training should be done. Normally, people are always resistant to new ideas due to insecurity. The financial institutions should organize educational forums within the university. Basically, all parties should be educated about what all the life start entails. In order, to ensure that everything runs smoothly, feedback from customers should be considered. Based on the feedback received from customers, the institutions should be keen to address all relevant issues raised early in advance. Owing to the above mentioned fact, the students, academics and staff will be confident with the minimal viable product. Hence, they will be willing to engage with life start.

In order to ignite a wide impact beyond the university in the near future, various strategies must be outlined. Basically, this will be role of the management of virgin money. One of the many strategies which will be used includes the establishment of a communication platform from which more than one million users will be addressed. Efficient communication is one of the basic factors which are considered in programs (Kundu and Datta, 2012 p.134). In order to ensure that a certain program runs smoothly communication is considered as the utmost priority. The financial institution should mainly focus on direct communication with the clients in order to eliminate possibilities of wrong communication. In addition, the institution should consider advertising its products and services at the lowest cost possible. This strategy will generally reduce the total cost incurred during product implementation. As a result, the institution will be able to increase its target audience since all the expenditures will be low.

Finally, in order to expand the role of the financial institution in other areas in future, the institution should focus on offering sentiments which will attract customers. It should consider creating employment opportunities in order to reduce cases of employment in the respective universities. These opportunities should be offered according to the merit of the different students. Hence, the respective students in the university will improve on performance in order to secure these job opportunities. As a result, the institution will be in a position to have many graduates due to the aforementioned motivating factor. In the long run, other institutions will consider linking up with virgin to reap the benefits hence the financial institution will expand tremendously.
