Many schools start before 8:00 am, however, number of studies prove that when schools start later than 8:00 am, the attendance and graduation rates are higher because students are getting more sleep. In addition, teens struggle paying attention in their first period due to waking up early in the morning. Without doubt, school should start later, because sleep can affect student’s health, performance, and success in a positive way. First, when teens are waking up early in the morning can lead to irritability, anxiety, low energy and other types of mental health disorders. Moreover, lack of sleep can also be associated with risk of diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure, also researches believe that lack of sleep can add more stress on the body and modify the level of hormone. According to Morin “Poor sleep is linked to increasing reliance on caffeine, and tobacco and alcohol” (Morin 1).
In other words, when teens wake up early in the morning and go late to bed, this can make teens can consume more food with high sugar and caffeine hoping that they can get provisional energy than they got a sufficient amount of sleep rather than get a sufficient amount of sleep, thus this can have a negative impact on a teen’s mental health. Additionally, lack of sleep and poor sleep can cause the driver to full sleep when they are driving and can get into a lethal car crash, while teens are driving to school. Furthermore, the GPA and level of motivation of students have a significantly positive impact due to more hours of sleep each night, also it is prove by the doctor that there is an illustrious negative impact on the levels of emotional disturbance when students do not have sufficient amount of sleep. Therefore, students are much likely to get a high GPA and less likely to be late, compared to the student who don’t get enough sleep. In other words, the author asserts that when school starts later the rate of attendance will enhance and more students will evaluate education on the basic standard. In addition, studies have found that many teens had a hard time to fall asleep before 11:00 pm because of their brain naturally work through later the day and they are not ready for sleep.

Unquestionably, change the school start time later will benefit teens in many ways, students will be having less probability to be late in the first period and more focus in classes, and most of the time teens are growing during sleep.
On the other hand, some people would think that later start school would not benefits teens because teens get out of school later, special for the students who attend the after-school activities and teens would stay up even later since they don’t have to wake up early for school. Yet, reduces school start time, would lower the time teens spend on a smartphone, due to they don’t have enough time to spend on it. Amy emphasizes that “Getting home later in the afternoon my reduce the amount of times some teens are home alone and could decrease the likelihood teens will engage in unhealthy activities” (Morin 2). Amy insisting that teens can have dinner and more time with their family since teens are getting out of school later and they may get home at the same time that their parent gets home. Moreover, the adult can always teach teens the importance of adequate sleep, in order to avoid teens to stay up later. Amy points out that “Teach your teen about appropriate sleep hygiene. Establish a reasonable bedtime and keep your teen on a consistent schedule even on weekends and school vacations” (Morin 2).
In arguing this claim, Amy argues that parents should limit the teen’s screen time before they sleep, also, studies have shown the child’s health have been damaged by the lack of sleep. Even though school starts later could be made difficult for the parent, however, this is really beneficial for teens. Overall, due to the conditions that adults provide for teens have a significant effect on the ability of teens to become a healthy adult. Assuredly, due to health, successes, and the future of the teens, the school should delay the start time. Make a petition to the school districts for them to start school later.
