I am writing to you to outline several reasons why the Constitution of the United States should be ratified. The Constitution is a great way to keep our country organized and fair for all citizens. This document serves as a good framework for making laws and it ensures that the individual rights all Americans will be protected. Three topics that are outlined in the Constitution that are extremely important are these: 1) The idea of one person one vote, 2) the idea of separating the three branches of government to ensure that all have equal power and 3) the idea that every American will have equal, individual rights. These are just three of the great things the constitution defines for us. “Individual rights” refers to the liberties of each individual to pursue life and goals without interference from other individuals or the government. This means that each person has his or her own rights outlined by the Constitution which can’t be taken away by anyone.

The second reason why I believe the Constitutions should be ratified is because I strongly believe that the three branches of government should each have equal power - meaning that no one branch should be stronger, or more powerful, than another. The United States’ Constitution divides government into three separate and distinct branches: the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. The concept of separate branches with distinct powers is known as the "separation of powers." This separation divides each branch into a distinct group with limited power. Without this separation of power, our country could quickly turn into a dictatorship. With all three branches maintaining equal power we can ensure that we have a democracy.

The third reason the Constitution should be ratified is due to the position of, “one person one vote.” This idea states that every person will get one, equal, vote regardless of skin color, political party affiliation, or power. This indicates the democratic and fair nature of our country’s ideals - that every citizen in our nation has equal rights.

For all of these reasons, I think the constitution should be ratified because it gives the people of this country everything they need to live in a fair society fair society where each can be successful. These three things also show that the Constitution will help us keep America organized, neat and lawful. All of these are rights in which every American citizen has, and as long as they are protected - will for evermore.
