When you think about a firefighter, the first thing that comes to mind is that classic movie like cene of a team putting out a fire in a building and saving everyone. But actually, a firefighter’s job is much more than that. In order to be a firefighter you must be in shape, prepared, trained, and ready to deal with difficult and stressful situation and much more. I intend to become a firefighter, so I can save lives and help people when they need the most.

Imagine waking up everyday without knowing what each day is going to bring, having to face your worst fears and make decisions with someone's life depending on it. That is a daily routine of a firefighter. Saving lives of strangers everyday, without asking anything in return. This job is crucial to society in general, everyday firefighter saves countless lives and properties. Without them society would fall into chaos and companies would lose extensive amounts of money.

Becoming a firefighter is much more than the pride and the actual job It's all about brotherhood. In a fire rescue squad, your fellow firefighters become your brothers. Watching your back in every situation the team faces, they stand by your side Until the end. Knowing this line of work, where you are in dangerous situations constantly, have brothers that you can always count on is something necessary and essential.

Great power comes with great responsibilities. Since firefighters are extensively trained and are a fundamental part of society, they can be solicited in many occasions. Besides fires, which in popular belief is the main job of a firefighter, they also rescue people and animals from car wrecks, collapsed buildings, stuck elevators and many other emergencies.

To become a firefighter, you must pass very rigorous tests and qualify in certain categories. First, all firefighters must have completed high school and obtained a diploma. After that you need to be in good physical condition, being able to drag a hose, carry equipment, search and rescue and breach through doors. Also, all of those who are thing about this career must have a clean record and a clean social media. After all of those are complete, one must pass a written test and go to the fire academy. There they will teach you the basics of the job, the science behind it and much more. After all is complete, you are ready to start saving people.

Since firefighting is career, and a very common one, you can get promoted really easily. Since 2014 the numbers of jobs in Firefighting has increased considerably, making fire stations having to contrat more and more people for the job. That means since they need people
