Don’t Litter with Plastic

Have you ever thought how much plastic you use a day? We produce roughly 300 million tons of plastic each year and more than half of it is disposable. Every induvial in Australia uses around 170 plastic bags per year. This means 150 million plastic bags end up as litter, only 3% of them are currently being recycle and 200,000 bags are dumped in landfill every hour. Our world needs to make a change in how things are done, when we get takeaway food, we should make an alternative and bring our own cutlery or even use bamboo cutlery. A way we could make this happen is to get all business big and small to get on top of biodegradable cutlery and bags.

People think its all going to be ok if we keep doing what we are doing but in reality plastic plays a very big role in the pollution of the world. 200,000 plastic bags are left in landfills every hour that’s how much our world is being polluted. plastic is literally at my fingertips all day long tapping on the key board keys. This must be stopped! If we all tried and committed to this world problem Like people simply picking up rubbish that they walk past or see in general or going every week with a reusable grocery bag that has been lying around the house. If everyone did this in just Australia the pollution would decrease by 1,368 million bottles because there are 24.14 million people in Australia and the average grocery bag can fit 57, 1 Litre plastic water bottles. Not only can you do that, but you can also reuse plastic bottles as a normal water bottle.

The Plastic pollution will be out of control in the future if we don’t do anything any time soon. People need to start making a change and if people do, it will make a dramatic change to the percentage to the pollution. If you think of the big picture in the future if we don’t do anything there won’t be a lot of things we would have had 5 years ago. So, if you think about it the future won’t be as great as we wish it to. I hope in the future the world will see the very clear message that this can be changed. Now we are living a very rare lifestyle that many people think is normal.

In conclusion, if every one in australia helped to stop the plastic polution would decrese by 1,368 milloin bottes. If we don’t do any thing about the problem we wont be able to do half the things we can do today because the air pollution would be so bad that you cant go out side, but it can be stopped if every one trys. People can reuse plastic water bottles as if they are a mettle water bottle or a normal reuseable bottle. Always remember that every peace of plastic means a lot.
