Success is the ending stage of what you have been building. As an athlete the footsteps to success are paved by the hard work of an individual. The determination, sweat, failure, and hustle define them as an athlete. In addition, athletes who practice their craft, stay after practice, go to the gym, tend to succeed in more ways than one.
As it may be hard to comprehend, Michael Jordan, an nba basketball star, was cut from his high school basketball team. Imagine, a player who has won six final champions, to be cut from a high school basketball team. However, Michael worked day after day to prove he was a varsity athlete. While on junior varsity Jordan put up forty points as the star player. However, over the summer Jordan grew four inches making his height 6’6. With that height he spent days practicing his craft outside. This advantage and his constant work ethic put him on the varsity squad where he became the number one scorer. Without his hard work even facing adversity Jordan would still be an average basketball player. Although Michael Jordan had a strong work ethic he also worked through obstacles. Being an amazing player held many responsibilities. When Jordan was first drafted in the league he had a jump shot that was not sufficient in the NBA with other star athletes. As being a overachiever he began to work on his jump shot throughout the offseason by shooting jumpers until they were perfected. He would shoot at least at hundred a day.
Success is given to athletes you are able to work for every inch. As a young girl, Bethany Hamilton loved to surf, until a traumatic accident happened one day while in the water with her friends. As Bethany was enjoying life on her surfboard a tiger shark engaged with her left arm leaving nothing but her shoulder behind. As a rising superstar Hamilton did not let her one arm stop her. After one month from the attack Hamilton set back off into water with the assistance of her father. She trained day after day to work on her balance, get on the board, and paddle through the water. In fact, less than a year later she won the national championship of surfing. She used her talent and her disadvantage to work through her obstacle and become everything she was meant to be.
Athletes are expected to maintain their talent by improving their endurance. As an athlete Kobe Bryant, a Los Angleles Lakers, was a smart talented leader of the Lakers. He became the second player to score eighty-one points in a basketball game. However, Bryant was a player who worked through every obstacle thrown his way.
