I have watched NCAA Division I wrestling on my bedroom television since I was a kid. I have always dreamed to be a participate in the big show, the National Championship. Just to get there would be accomplishing one of my life long goals. I have wrestled since I was four-years-old as well, and at times I have felt as if I wanted to quit and/or give up one that goal that I have been chasing since I was old enough to walk. Whether it be wrestling my older brother, taking on my father in arm wrestling, or watching WWF on TV, I loved the sport more than anything. The sport was mentally and physically tiring after do it for so many years. I would always have to lose anywhere from 20 to 30 pounds every wrestling season which would leave me discouraged. When I have reach these times where I wanted to give up all my goal I would always gather my thoughts and think about who inspires me. I realized that how can I possibly be complaining about how hard wrestling is on me when Anthony Robles wrestles Division I with only one leg? I used Robles's dream to form into my own. Robles's dream was not something that may have been reality without the work of one courageous man.

African American culture has developed since the memorable day of April 4, 1968. Martin Luther King's death occurred on this date changing the social status of African Americans from that day forth. Equality was later enforced and began to form the United States into a nation made up of African Americans coexisting with the rest of the diverse nation. Conflicts were unstoppable because of the confusion that would continue for years to come. African Americans began to obtain more and more rights until the equality of all races set in. Opportunities for the African American culture opened up and progress set in place with the idea of "time heals everything." Athletically, the abilities of the culture became an outstanding achievement, as African Americans started participating in a numerous number of sports.

Seeing one or more African Americans on a team at the top of the athletic spectrum of the nation became commonplace. This advancement of black males and females would not have been possible without the dedication and visionary of Martin Luther King. Things could be very different if these ideas and stances that MLK took to help stand beside the African American culture through the worst of times may had not even occurred. Looking at the African American athletics today, succeeding with the amazement and skill throughout the various sports our nation provides, their accomplishments are remarkable.

A very passionate and heart warming example that shows the importance of Martin Luther King's legend was created by a man named Anthony Robles. He is an African American that attended Arizona State University, and he was a wrestler with a dream of winning the national title following Martin Luther King's dream of equality within our nation. Martin Luther King was standing up for what he believe in against all odds, when no one thought success was a possible result and when all was said and done. Well Anthony Robles overcame an equally "mission impossible" task, winning the NCAA division I national wrestling tournament... with one leg. Robles knew accomplishing this feat was something that could only be completed with more than hard work and the determination of gaining the title that came along with winning NCAA tournament. Winning the title was a mark in history that would forever be remembered, just as Martin Luther King's rein was.

Anthony Robles may not of had the opportunity of achieving his dream without the realization of Martin Luther King's dream which he ended dieing for in a memorable fashion. The importance of the stand King took against the corrupt nation was something that changed the African American culture forever: not only athletically but socially. Equality is in place leaving blacks to live out his dream everyday. Anthony Robles is a man whose efforts and accomplishments has proven everyday that Martin Luther King's dream continues to live on.
