World Civilizations

Everyone might have a different opinion on the most important changes that occurred from 8000 BCE to 1450 CE. One person might have a opinion but someone else might think the total opposite. Throughout history there have been many changes during this time frame and in my opinion agricultral societies, trade network, and civilazation rivers were the most important from 8000 BCE to 1450 CE.

Agricultural Societies

The transition period called Neolithic revolution of the Agricultural Revolution. People were still leaving in small towns or cities built bigger than the earlier civilization. People around this Agricultural society was pretty much learning how to cultivate plants, so they could stay in the same geo location and not move from place to place. Since they were learning how to cultivate and use tools and techniques in order to grow food to be able to feed the people. This will give them a sense of ownership since they have conquer or master the technique of cultivation and how to better use of the land in order to call the land their own property since they worked it and plant food all year around. With the different techniques they have learned like different times a year to cultivate different stuff they were able to grow enough food in their farm to hold the whole family and eventually the whole village. As time progress eventually they implemented irrigation techniques they were able to farm in land that was not able to be farmed previously due to dry seasons and this was a big advantage for the community because it brought more growth in food for the community.”In Guns, Germs, and Steel, Jared Diamond argued provactively that powerful city-based empires grew in Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Mediterranean, Europe, India, and China because these agricultral societies were geographically well placed and close together”¹ Farming dramatically change the lay of the land by diverting water and clearing land for new farming and been able to create farmland where previously wasn’t able to be farm land that was a plus. By this revolution the villages were able to grow into larger cities and towns and the land scape started to change bigger buildings, population started to grow and eventually getting worldwide know in the trade market.

Create order

Trade Network

Due to some civilization living close to rivers and the agricultural society also living close to the rivers made the trade network much easier. This was due to the access to the water ways for the boats to go up and down the river bend in order to trade and or sale items, once the monetary system lines of credit were stablish and accounting methods were put in place to help the business grown and expand, buy more boats employ more people etc. extend their business elsewhere. “Many sailors were the first to sail the open seas. In their epic voyages across the Pacific, they invented double-hulled outriger canoes (the ancestor of the modern Catamaran) for stability in ocean swells”² Traveling around all the different water ways of the Indian Ocean people were able to leave their towns and look for new avenues to sell their goods. All this revolutions generated the future for new innovation of trades which will become the international trade market. Being able to navigate the waters from, one country to another in order to sell their crops, raw material etc. it elevated their business a lot. also recruiting or hiring people from different places allowed them to be able to communicate with the local population of that country in order to be able to more efficient in the trade market. Language and communication was a key. This also led to many sailors’ marrying local women at the ends of their trade routes and having cultures intermixing rapidly. Some sailors brought their foreign wives back to their countries and created bilingual and bicultural families and creating biracial kids. For success in my opinion.

Civilazation Rivers

I think one of the most important changes was that most of the world’s early civilizations were located in river valleys and this was great due to the rivers providing a plenty of water supply, which is necessary for survival. Rivers were also important in the low areas around rivers tend to be covered with soil that is loaded with nutrients, for the land in order to provide water irrigation to the plants which are deposited when the river recedes for foods to nourish the soil. “River agriculture in the Middle East , Egypt, China, and Southeast Asia was much more productive than the earlier oasis of garden places like Jericho or the rain watered hillsides and plains of places like Catal Huyuk.”³ Also the river provides home to many animals to feed and be food for the people also and plants could also provide food for people. Rivers were also served as a vital means of transportation north or south depending the way the current flow in order to trade food or other items up and down the river banks. Talking about civilizations we are talking about large size land is with large populations of people, different cultures. Many early civilizations were in fact composed of connected city-states which were made up of an urban center and the agricultural land around surrounded by river or close to the rivers in order to be able to grow in the land. Some of this civilization develops a twelve month calendar and math system based on unit of sixty. The most important change was that they used geometry to survey the land and develop architectural enhancement to the land in order to rotate the crops and make better use of the land. And how to better use of the land in order to call the land their own property since they worked it and plant food all year around. With the different techniques they have learned like different times a year to cultivate different stuff they were able to grow enough food in their farm to hold the whole family and eventually the whole village. As time progress eventually they implemented irrigation techniques they were able to farm in land that was not able to be farmed previously due to dry seasons and this was a big advantage for the community because it brought more growth in food for the community. Farming dramatically change the lay of the land by diverting water and clearing land for new farming and been able to create farmland where previously wasn’t able to be farm land that was a plus. By this revolution the villages were able to grow into larger cities and towns and the land scape started to change bigger buildings, population started to grow and eventually getting worldwide know in the trade market.
