At the #1 spot is 'Emergency Contact' by Mary H.K. Choi. This is an engaging story about two vulnerable characters. Penny is a freshman college student in Austin who is learning to be a writer. Sam, on the other hand, wants to be a famous movie director but is stuck working at a cafe. They exchange numbers when they meet and form a unique relationship via text. They enjoy sharing their personal dreams and anxieties without having to see each other face to face.

Coming in at #2 is 'The Promise of Amazing,' a poignant debut novel by Robin Constantine. The story centers on two teens falling in love under complicated circumstances. Wren Caswell is an average 'good girl,' but she's trying to change that image. Grayson Barrett is a brilliant young man who is at the top of his class until he gets expelled due to a term paper controversy. Their paths cross at a party, and love blossoms unexpectedly.

Following #3 is 'Love From A to Z' by S.K. Ali. This book features the lives of two Muslim teenagers brought together by love and anger. As an early start to spring break, Zayneb goes to Doha, Qatar, to visit her aunt and escape the issues she's been dealing with at school, including getting suspended for confronting her teacher about discrimination. During the trip, she meets Adam, a young guy who's keeping his health condition secret from his family. Both teens are troubled, but their meeting is the start of something amazing.

Next, at #4, is 'A Date with Darcy' by Tiffany Schmidt. Sixteen-year-old Merrilee Campbell has an intense love of romance novels. She believes that boys in books are better than the ones in real life. Then she transfers to Hero High and meets Monroe Stratford, who seems to be infatuated with her. Merri thinks this is cool at first, but after a while, she gets annoyed by his constant messages and calls. Now, she questions if there will ever be a romantic relationship that is perfect for her.

Taking the #5 spot is 'American Panda' by Gloria Chao, a coming-of-age tale about family and interracial romance. Mei is a seventeen-year-old whose parents have planned her future for her. They want her to be a doctor and marry a Taiwanese Ivy Leaguer. What she cannot tell them is that she hates biology and likes her classmate Darren Takahashi. After talking with her estranged brother, Mei begins to wonder if it's really worth keeping her true personality from her mother and father.

Coming in at #6 is 'Happily and Madly' by Alexis Bass. The summer before her eighteenth birthday, Maris Brown is with her estranged father and his family in Cross Cove, a wealthy beach town. There, she meets Edison Duval, a young guy who seems to be hiding something. Maris decides to stay away from him, but the attraction between them is strong. Soon, she becomes worried that her relationship with Edison will ruin the life she is destined for.

Next, at #7, is 'The Art of Not Breathing' by Sarah Alexander. Elsie Main's twin brother drowned five years ago while he was swimming in the ocean. His body was never found. Now, Elsie is still grieving, and her parents have become dysfunctional. Things get a little better when she meets Tay McKenzie, who introduces her to freediving, a sport she is surprised to find that she enjoys.

Following #8 is 'Not After Everything' by Michelle Levy. Protagonist Tyler Blackwell is a young guy who seems to have it all. He has a football scholarship to Stanford, a girlfriend, and a bunch of cool friends. However, when his mother commits suicide, everything in his life takes a turn for the worse. He finds himself reconnecting with his childhood friend Jordyn, who, despite looking like a tough goth girl, is kind to him. Tyler treasures their relationship, but he cannot risk bringing her into his chaotic world.

Finally, at #9 is 'Always Never Yours' by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. Seventeen-year-old Megan Harper is a high school senior and an aspiring theater director. One day, she is surprisingly cast as Juliet, with her ex-boyfriend playing Romeo, and she's not happy about it. When she meets Owen, a young playwright, she finds herself drawn to him.
