Is Revenge Good or Bad?

I’ve finally come to the conclusion that Hamlets revenge is not justified. This isn't out and out expressed, yet rather suggested. Characters frequently assume that exact retribution is the best way to get conclusion from an awful affair, and when this is followed up on, negative outcomes are not appeared. Seldom is the way that retaliation is double-dealing and wrong raised. Individuals need to wake up and understand that exact retribution is constantly fraudulent and strange. As Christ stated, 'Let him who is without transgression among you be the first to toss a stone at her.' (John 8:7) The play, Hamlet, represents the bad faith of reprisal. In this play, the ruler Hamlet has quite recently lost his dad. While everybody thinks the passing was unplanned, Hamlet's dead dad appears to him and reveals to him that his sibling, Hamlet's uncle, killed him. He directions Hamlet to retaliate for his demise, yet not to hurt his mom, since God and her inner voice will rebuff her. As of now, there is bad faith appeared - the dead ruler confides in God to deal with rebuffing his significant other, yet directions his own child to kill his uncle, as opposed to following what God says, 'Adored, never vindicate yourselves, yet abandon it to the fury of God; for it is stated, 'Retribution is mine, I will reimburse, says the Lord.' (Romans 12:19) Hamlet has some type of religious belief, if his faith was strong I think he wouldn’t have went on a frenzy like he did. Jaime made a good point in her presentation. It was over the movie The Revenant. In the movie the main character seeks revenge on the guy who killed his son and that guy only. She brought up a good point that Hamlet killed more then the person he wanted revenge on. He drug too many people into it that had nothing to do with his father’s death therefore his revenge was not justified. In the play Hamlet says: 

“O, what a rogue and peasant slave am I!

Is it not monstrous that this player here,

But in a fiction, in a dream of passion,

Could force his soul so to his own conceit

That from her working all his visage wanned,

Tears in his eyes, distraction in his aspect,

A broken voice, and his whole function suiting

With forms to his conceit—and all for nothing!'

(2.2.577-584)

Hamlet can’t wrap his head around how an actor can get himself to have emotion and cry but he can’t get himself to feel emotion of his father’s death. I really feel connected to this because when my father past away I barely knew him. I didn’t have any emotions but felt like I should. This is another reason why I feel like Hamlet’s revenge is not justified. He doesn’t even have emotions for his dad death, so I feel like he wanted to get revenge just to even things out and I guess make him feel normal.

“How came he dead? I'll not be juggled with.

To hell, allegiance! Vows, to the blackest devil!

Conscience and grace, to the profoundest pit!

I dare damnation. To this point I stand,

That both the worlds I give to negligence,

Let come what comes, only I'll be revenged

Most thoroughly for my father.'

(4.5.148-154)

This quote from Laertes says it all. Revenge is a never-ending cycle and in the end is not justified. In The movie The Revenant the main charters finally has a chance to get his revenge and the person that killed his son said “Killing me won’t bring your son back”. He realized this is true and let him go. Hamlet killing his father’s killer doesn’t bring his father back and never will.
