NBA Lakers superstar basketballer Kobe Bryant is dead. Lakers sensation was travelling to Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks in a helicopter with 8 other passengers on Sunday the 26th of January 2020 where unfortunately the aircraft was flown into a mountain in the area of Calabasas from all the heavy fog in the air. This lead to the helicopter and the 9 passengers to fall 2000 feet to their death.
The helicopter they where flying on was a Silkorsky S-78B helicopter. It had no faults as searched by investigators, it only went down from colliding with a hillside after not being able to see with all the heavy air fog after doing many circles waiting for radar assistance.
Among these 9 passengers was Kobe, his thirteen-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant, two of her teammates Payton Chester, her mother Sarah Chester and Alyssa Altobelli and her mother and father Keri and John Altobelli, and Gianna’s coach Christina Mauser alongside the Pilot, Ara Zobayan. They were on their way for Gigi’s team training session.
The 41-year-old was one of the most famous athletes in all of America. He retired on the 13th of April 2016. When the retired star’s death was confirmed on Sunday 26th of January 2020, television broadcasts were interrupted for breaking news bulletins. When I, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Laine Bryant herd about my husband and daughter’s death I felt like I had my heart burst into a million pieces, and I went silent till the 29th of January 2020 when I decided to share a post on Instagram.
The post I shared quoted “There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved”.
My husband was a superhero in disguise, he would finish an exhausting hard day of work competing to the best of his ability and come home to help me out with our four children without a winged of being tired or too sore to hangout and to me that meant he was an amazing human being. Gigi was a loving, amazing thoughtful daughter that was just like her father. She was so talented and when she was down and upset, she would push through it and make it look like she was the happiest child ever.
