Essense of the Big Bang Theory

Picture this. You visualize yourself standing outside and gazing upon the stars and you wonder how was the universe created. The universe was formed by what we know as the big bang theory. The universe began 14 billion years ago, according to scientists. Even though the big bang might not seem intriguing to you, there are many things you can learn about the big bang such as history, how it was formed, and some of the many conceptions.

The big bang is an effort to explain how the universe was created (www.space.com/25126-big-bang-theory.html). Our universe sprang into singularity about 13.7 billion years ago (www.big-bang-theory.com). Singularities are zones which defy our current understanding of physics. When the big bang ended, everything was very dense and hot. Slowly, after that, galaxies formed. Helping us learn about the origins of the universe, the big bang is important to help us learn about how the universe was formed. There were many people that played important roles in the big bang. The big bang theory was started by a young Belgium priest called Georges Lemaître when he had an idea that the universe came from a single point (spaceplace.nasa.gov/big-bang/en/). Georges Lemaître based his work off of the work of Einstein and De Sitter and independently derived Friedmann’s equations for an expanding universe.

Edwin Hubble also played a crucial role in the big bang theory by noticing that all the galaxies were moving away from us (spaceplace.nasa.gov/big-bang/en/). There were countless influential people that helped contribute to the big bang theory. There are numerous misconceptions from the big bang. For example, most people tend to believe that there was an explosion, but instead, there was an expansion (www.big-bang-theory.com). Some people think that there was a fireball in the middle of Space but there wasn’t (www.big-bang-theory.com). Last, many people think that since the universe is about 14 billion years old, so that means the radius of the observable part is about 14 billion light years. That statement is misleading. Because of the evidence that Space is always expanding, the radius of the observable part is more than 14 billion light-years (Lineweaver Davis 44). Many people believe in many false facts about the big bang theory. Indeed, while the big bang might not seem appealing to you, there are many things you can learn about the big bang such as history, how it was formed, and some of the many conceptions. There are many things that people often think that are true that aren’t. There are also some very remarkable people that helped contribute to the big bang theory. You can also learn a collection of fun facts about the big bang theory. So the next time you go outside, make sure to reminisce about the big bang when you catch a glimpse of Space.
